This can't be good.
I loved the World War Z book by Max Brooks. I think it should be used in high school to teach narrative writing. It is a modern classic.
I've seen bits and pieces come through about the movie adaptation they are doing with Brad Pitt, and each thing that is released lowers my expectations more. They have changed everything from the role of the lead character, to several of the pivotal locations in the film. This doesn't mean it's a bad movie... but does mean that it will be only vaguely in sync with a book that is amazing.
But word has just come out that the scheduled December 21st release date has been pushed back. Alot. It has been moved back to a June 21, 2013 release, which will have it open on the same weekend as Disney/Pixar's "Monster University."
So either the film simply won't be ready on time, or they are afraid to put it up against "The Hobbit" which was scheduled for late December release, or someone at Paramount thinks the film is crap and that it needs major reworking. Time will tell.
