Since I started on my quest to be more healthy and by extension to loose weight I set up mini goals. Why? Because my starting weight was 333 lbs and I wanted to get to at least 150 if not lower. At 5 ft 4 inches 150 would still be high but I didn't want to set an unrealistic goal.
When I lost my first 50 lbs I got a pedicure. My first ever. When I reach my goal I get a pair of diamond stud earrings. So why start this thread. Well as of today I've lost 102.5 lbs. I've set up my next mini goal which is to get to 199. That will put below 200 lbs for the first time since the late 70's or early 80's. Yea a long, long time ago.
I have found that my best aid in staying healthy and loosing weight is not to look at the big picture but to look at small snap shots. Set one goal at a time and then reward myself for reaching them.
Also to share things that are big to you but might seem silly to someone else. The 3 that stand out in my mind as they happened are:
1. I was finally able to reach my toe nails much more easily to clip them. Silly unless you had to contort to do it in the past.
2. Recently had to readjust my car seat because I was wearing flat shoes and by accident moved it so close it was uncomfortable to drive. Then I suddenly realized that my stomach wasn't rubbing the steering wheel. In the past had to wear thick sole shoes because I had to sit further back for my stomach to clear. I couldn't believe it.
3. Yesterday I had to show my drivers license in a store and the clerk couldn't believe it was me. Picture had been taken at my heaviest. My license will be renew next March and for once I'm looking forward to going to DMV so my picture will be the healthy slimmer me.
So post the silly triumphs you've reached.
