What?? More about water for those of you that are still not drinking enough. This says it well.

What are the benefits of drinking more water?

As a whole, we are made up of 70% water. Water regulates every function in your body. Water flushes out all the waste and toxins in our bodies. It also transports all the necessary nutrients our bodies need to look and feel good. It flushes out impurities in the skin; when skin cells are hydrated, they plump up to give you a good complexion. Also, muscles that are hydrated look more toned because they are made of 70% water. Not drinking enough water is similar to depriving that less-than-vibrant plant you water every few weeks. The plant will survive, but at what expense… Other benefits to drinking water include:

Helps digest food
Lowers Blood pressure
Reduces Constipation
Lessens Asthma
Eases Depression
Metabolizes fat
Supports healthy hair and nails
Carries more blood and oxygen to your face
Eases irritability
Regulates body temperature so you don't get too cold or too hot
Suppresses appetite
Prevents water retention
Reduces stress

There are so many aches and pains that most people attribute to being old, sick or tired, when in all actuality, it’s probably just a case of dehydration. Even a lack of concentration and focus can be attributed to a lack of water. It only makes sense, considering our brains are made up of 90% water. Those nagging headaches we often get, that most people shrug off as part of life or the common cold can also just be a case of dehydration. What about those painful joints that we complain about? Water works as a lubricant – the two opposing surfaces (for example, the femur and the tibia at the knee) will glide freely and minimize friction damage, causing less pain.

I usually drink at least 10 glasses of water a day. One of the first things I was successful with way back when I weighed 260.

Bug, I love water. It has been my "go-to" drink for many years. I do not like the taste of soda at all. On occasion I drink teas. I also must have my coffee every morning. I have a 44 oz jug that is with me everywhere I go. I drive my family nuts cuz I don't leave home without it!

I am glad you are getting more wayer in your diet and I hope others will as well!

You know when I first started trying to drink 8 glasses of water, I hated water. I would rather drink nothing than drink water. People always told me that drinking water would help with the hunger. I couldn't see that it did. But I kept drinking because they said it would flush out the fat and help my internal organs. Soon I got to crave water, esp. in the hot summer. I still didn't think it helped much with the hunger but I carried a bottle with me wherever I went. Then I started drinking a glass upon rising, a glass before each meal, and a glass in between meals (both morning and afternoon) Pretty soon I realized that by drinking a 16 oz glass of water (even if I had to force it down) before each meal, I seemed fuller. I also found that if I felt hunger and I drank a 16 oz glass of water, it would make the hunger less intent. Think about it..If your stomach is empty for any length of time, acid builds up in there and you feel hungry, but if you dilute the acid with water, your hunger is not so great and you are able to get through it without caving in to food. Today because we were talking about the lemon cleanse, I did drink only lemon juice with sweetener and cayenne powder (one almond after each glass) and my stomach was telling me to eat something but instead, I drank a glass of water and I felt much better. So my calories for today are 93. I had one tbspn of maple syrup (52 calories and 7 almonds 41 calories)and after that I switched to sugar free syrup for sweetness. I didn't count the lemon juice but it's only 6 calories for 1 ounce. I hope this will encourage some of you to try real hard to get all your water in. emoticon
