Sleep isn't a problem for me during the summer, but I do find it helpful to set my alarm every day for the time I would like to get up - 6:00. During the school year, it's quite a different story. I have to make do with 6 hours of sleep most of the week. I drag myself out of bed and count on those 2 cups of coffee to jump start my system.

I think I started sleeping badly after my mom died. Then after my hysterectomy it got worse. BUT it goes in spurts. Right now, I am sleeping great WITHOUT taking my 12 hour melatonin.

I think upping my steps has also worn out my body lol

I don't have any problems getting to sleep either - never had. I count my blessing for that!

Sad, there are so many out there suffering with sleep deprivation.

I truly do NOT have that problem...partly due to several things....one I NEVER tell myself "I hope I will sleep".... I pray before I go to sleep, and before I know it I fall asleep!

Course I DO take my calcium and magnesium at bedtime, along with melatonin, and ashwaganda....an herb that helps with sleep....I used to take valarian root, but haven't needed it for along time.

Sleep during the day after working all night, with only calcium. I am truly thankful to have no problem sleeping 9-10 hours....my problem is waking tired....due to my hypothyroid...

Sorry didn't mean to go on so long.

These are really good tips for those of us that don't sleep well any more.

I heard from a Nurse once that wearing "Rose colored glasses" for about an hour before bed helps your brain relax and therefore you can sleep better.
