Sleep is such an attainable goal...most of the time, lol. I remember when I worked the overnight shift, no matter what I couldn't get more than 4 or 5 hours of sleep, even if I had the time. My body just said no, even though I was so tired!
One thing that helps with sleep is getting plenty of water through the day. My thought was more water will make me have to get up more through the night, but actually it helps the body run correctly, and I sleep better when I'm hydrated. You could also keep a food journal to find out if certain types of food are keeping you from sleeping. Another good idea is to see if you are active enough during the day.
If wanting sleep is just a matter of not having the time to sleep a full 8 hours, I suggest seeing if you can rearrange your schedule. Getting enough sleep will help you be more productive and efficient through the day.
