my goal right now is to lose another twenty pounds. having lost 30 to get healthy, I am now ready to focus on getting more weight off. my health is pretty good right now, I am now feeling like I was 53 again. just because I went back to the gym twice a week. later I plan to increase it to 3 times a week. twice during the week and once on the weekend. My body is strating to feel really strong again. thank goodness. Cassandra.

I don't think I've been a normal weight for my height since I hit puberty *hiss* lol!! and my metabolism dropped so low I'm sure I havn't had one since. I would love to say I'm the average weight for my height. I also have a sister the same weight, she says that with what little time she has she could never lose weight, I would like to be encouragement enough for her to start her journey towards a happier self, I'm a full time mum and doing a degree and running a house and a million other things and I've lost 9lb this month :) I'm trying to get her to join here atm cause I love it so much heehee

Hey everyone.. I've read some really great goals and good luck to everyone!! My own goals are just eating healthier and EXERCISE EXERCISE EXERCISE... I've rarely exercised a day in my life and since giving birth (almost 4 YEARS ago) I can't lose the weight like I used to.. I was once blessed with one of those high metabolisms.. Ate like a horse and never gained an ounce. So now I'm having to learn portion size.. Which is hard.. really hard.. and fast food places are gonna be a thing of the past. I do still like my soda. But I only drink like a 2 liter in a week instead of a day like I used to. So already doing better. CONGRATS TO EVERYONE... LETS DO THIS!!!

Hi everyone. My main goals this week are to cut down on salt and brave the cold and walk on the days I don't go to curves. I really need to believe in myself and realize this is attainable. I have about 45- 50 pounds to lose. The older I get the harder it is.

Hi Jessrhhc, Congrats on the needy newborn :) That was me just a year ago. I went through post partum, so everything felt like a failure to me...I hope your time is going better than mine did! I like how you're taking things slow! And just remember, healthy meals don't have to be hard, I actually find them easier to make than some of the bad stuff, lol. Let us know how you like zumba, that's something I've wanted to try but haven't yet.

I'd love to lose 50lb by 9th August ( my 22nd birthday ) but I'd just be happy with going down to a size 14 no matter the weight xx Kelly

My main goal is to lose about 30 lbs before June. I would be more happy with losing about 2 inches on my stomach, hips and thighs. I'm not quite ready to completely cut out soda just yet but I am making a very good effort to cut down...(I got addicted to Orange Crush when my youngest was in the hospital for a week!). Since we are starting a new week today my goals for the week will be: -to pack a healthy lunch every day that I work. -to cook a healthy dinner at least 3 times this week
Those are going to be my main goals this week but I just bought Zumba for our xbox kinect so I want to try to do that a few times this week too...kinda hard to do that stuff with a needy newborn but I am going to make the effort!

Giving up soda is a popular one, lol...and a good one. I'll admit I still like my Dr. Pepper or coke every now and then (I have this strange thing for a Dr. Pepper with my sub sandwich w/ extra onions. It's a flavor mix thing, sounds gross...I know, lol). But I don't "crave" the soda anymore.
Remember you don't have to give up the things you really like, but you do need to make sure you understand what a real portion size of cake or soda is, and that you don't have them all the time. I used to drink 2 32oz sodas a day...that was like 8 servings!! That's crazy!!

Marissa89, great goals! Remember, if you make them specific and measurable you'll have a better time reaching them, because you know exactly what your aiming for! Are you going cold turkey on the soda and fast food, or are you planning to reduce the amount first before you stop completely? What does healthier choice mean to you? These are things to consider when creating goals. The more thought you put into it, the more connected you'll be to your goals! You can do it!!

BeautyWithinMe, Great goal! I know I had the same trouble when I was cutting out soda. First I would get headaches because I missed the caffeine. I fixed that by switching to Iced Tea, then I went through the sugar withdrawals, for that I ate fruit. It takes time, but you'll get there. Kudos on going without the soda, I know that's a tough goal!!
In my situation, what I found out was I was more addicted to going to the local minimart for a soda because I knew everyone who worked there (my husband was an employee who traveled to all the stores in the area). I liked getting out and visiting with fun people, so switching to the iced tea helped to cover that fix too :)
YummyCoffee! You have 2 great goals, and I think you can combine them! Try to pick out the TV shows you absolutly love and want to watch. For me it's NOVA on PBS Wed nights (I'm such a nerd sometimes)...and Big Bang Theory...to make my nerdiness worse, lol.
Set that as your TV time, then workout during the show or at commercials. If you have a Wii, you can set it to do Free Step while you watch TV, you can run in place, do twists while holding weights, do bicep curls, etc. See how many crunches or pushups you can do during the commercial breaks, or some other strength training. Be creative and you'll do awesome!
Super_Jay...Great goals! Don't be discouraged by the amount of time you can work out right now. Look at it as a motivator. You can take it two ways. First of all, you can decrease the intensity and build up to a higher intensity and use that higher intensity as one of your goals to reach. The other route you can take with exercise is to set a goal of 5 min of exercise every day, or 5 of 7 days, something like that. Then next week, shoot for 10 min of exercise for the same amount of days. You can't expect to run a marathon if you haven't trained, and even the best runner started small; same story for any exercise. You can do it! Stay positive and don't let the little things discourage you. Try to find something to celebrate everyday. I look at that and say, WooHoo that is 5 more min of exercise than you did the day before!
Keep up the great work, and don't beat yourself up if a day doesn't go perfectly for you. You'll get there :) I know you will, you have great motivation (I read your other post on what you want to do if you could do anything!) Sounds like you have a very attainable goal :)

My goal for the this week is to not drink any pop, Im setting mini goals each week for my self. Im now on day 3 with no pop, and let me tell you my head can feel it. lol :)

My goal is to stop watching So Much TV o_o..... I am a TV and snack addict.
My other goal is to actually do the workouts I planned (instead of purely running). I can never focus or commit myself for more than a few days...

My first goal is to cut soda out of my diet. I drink entirely too much soda. I have a Pepsi with every meal and in between meals. Another goal is to replace soda with water.
I am staying away from fast food also.
I want to workout daily at home, but I tried working out last night (for the first time in years) and Iasted only 5 mintues before I thought I was going to die. How embarassing, and discouraging.
