Food: Thomas' Whole grain light english muffins. They're so versatile and only have 1 point(momentum)! Frozen black seedless grapes. If you can find some that are really sweet it's like eating little pieces of cold slushy candy. Clementines(2 for 1 point and they're delicious). weight watchers string cheese. YUM. I LOVE flavored coffee also and need to buy some more. Blueberry Mountain is my all time favorite. I like the fruity flavors. I have also did the greek yogurt mixed with salsa thing and it's tasty. I dipped baby carrots in mine and also the baked tostitos scoops.

btw: I was never a fan of the 94% ff popcorn before but I bought two of those kernel seasons popcorn seasoning flavors. White cheddar and jalapeno pepper. I spritz the popcorn with a couple spritzes of fake butter and then sprinkle some of both seasonings on and toss to blend. YUM. The pepper flavor really gives it a lot of taste.

Exercise: Walk it out for the wii. The only fitness type game i've ever stuck with. It's fun. I enjoy playing this in the cold months the most when I can't get outside..or choose not to. Swimming and kayaking in the warm months. Both really enjoyable and seem more like fun than a workout. The elliptical...it's a great workout and enjoyable for a little while. I can't do it every single day becuse it gets boring but I do enjoy it a couple times a week.

Stress relief: My 4 year old. He's hysterical. Laughing is great stress relief. Reading..i'm a major bookworm. Watching old favorite movies or shows. Watching Grumpy Old Men is better then hoovering a cupcake when I feel the need for comfort. Exercise.

Stress Relief: Reading, gardening, spending time with friends, knitting & cross-stitch, camping, biking.

Great discussion.

Food:

Breakfast Jennie O Extra Lean Turkey Bacon (3 slices = 1P+)

Chocolate: I am a big fan of Godiva Pearls. (16 Pearls = 1P+)

Bars: Clif Bar Kidz and Popculture Probiotics bars: light on the kraptastik ingredients (2-3P+)

I also make my own granola and bars/cookies using Canyon Ranch Spa and Ellie Krieger recipes. This stuff freezes very well so a batch will last me a year.

I'm a foodie, so I don't have many "go-tos" in terms of meals.

Steak: I shop at Wegmans and they have grass fed steaks in "perfect portions" (around 2-5 oz) and so when I go every week I dig around the bin for the tiny ones and keep those in the freezer for when I can't or don't feel like cooking ahead for the week.

Hebrew National FF Hot Dogs. These I keep in the freezer in case I need a lunch when I'm working from home.

Exercise:

If I need motivation or a restart after being away from the gym for a while, new workout clothes always do it for me. I am addicted to Lucy.

Stress Relief:

I'm a big fan on the Soundscapes Channel on Comcast. I used to put on QVC in the background when I work from home, but I'm moving to this more and more.

We have an indoor pool and water slide at my gym. When we need a pick me up after water aerobics, we go down the water slide. 5 seconds and you laugh your ass off so hard that all your problems are gone. It's my favorite thing.

Cleaning. I love to clean. Don't hate!

7Kids, I LOVE THOSE! The brownie flavor is my fave! The caramel cone is awesome too but it is 3 pts (momentum) so I usually don't get that one!

I also love the extra dessert delights gum, but my new favorite nighttime treat is the skinny cow ice cream in a small tub. They have a dulce de leche flavor and a brownie flavor that are both amazing. I am following momentum and they are only 2 point each!

I actually have a new go-to I have adopted in the last couple of months that has been a lifesaver! It is Extra Dessert Delights gum! I found out about it on Biggest Loser. Let me tell you, it can kill a sweets craving for sure with only 5 calories! I chew it ALL the time now - especially when I am sitting at my computer, when I normally would have wanted to munch something carby and salty. Instead I chew a piece of gum and then I like the flavor in my mouth so I don't want anything else! My favorite flavor is mint chocolate chip but key lime pie is also pretty tasty! Happy chewing! emoticon

I mix salsa or pico de gallo with a little Chobani yogurt; it make a great dip for veggies, or even a no-fat salad dressing mixed with lemon or lime juice. I like to eat QUANTITY, so I keep an undressed salad in the bottom shelf of my refrigerator at all times. I use the little tomatoes so that I don't have to cut them up, which makes the salad soggy. I cut up canned artichoke hearts and hearts of palms and keep them in containers to put on my salad at any time of day or night if I'm starving and have used too many points/calories that day.

I also like to keep a pot of veggie "soup" in my fridge. I use the boxed vegetable broth or turkey broth (Trader Joe's), frozen vegetables or fresh, whatever I have on hand, and that is ready and waiting for a tummy-filling meal. I'll make it Asian and put canned tuna or salmon in my bowl, or turkey breast (3 oz) or chicken for a more traditional soup that makes a really filling meal.

Food:
I eat some form of the 0pt veg soup for lunch every day. I like to add leftover meat, beans or low carb noodles. I even add string cheese to the bottom of the bowl and it gets all melted and oozy.

Exercise:
Two dogs that need to be walked every day. Walk away the pounds and yoga dvds. I just got the wii fit plus so I’ll be starting that.

Stress;
Meditation. I started this about 9 years ago when I had a very stressful job. It took lots of practice but now I wouldn’t want to live without it. I try to do it every day.

I also play games online. Any other pogo people out there?

Great idea for a thread! Here are mine:

Food: Triscuit Rosemary and Olive Oil crackers with a wedge of Laughing Cow, any flavor since I love them all. (Funny side note: My husband always forgets and calls the Laughing Cow “Slim Cow” instead, only because he knows that the ice cream sandwiches are called Skinny Cow).

Nonfat milk with a little splenda and unsweetened Hershey’s cocoa. I mix the splenda and cocoa with a little water first and then add my heated milk. It’ s really good and helps me to get my calcium, especially in the winter.

Whole cashews and almonds in limited amounts. I eat a tablespoon at lunch every day.

Crystal Light Sunrise Classic Orange: I know, this has aspartame (bad!) but sometimes I can’t face plain water. This also contains calcium and vitamin C.

Exercise: Walking 30 minutes at work each day. Really relieves the work related stress. Even if I miss doing any other activity, I know that I will do this and it calms me.

Stress: See exercise above and also my user name! I love to head to the north woods and clear my head. Also love being with our two dogs and it especially warms my heart to see my 15 year old senior golden retriever still enjoying life. Her pace is slower now, but she still gets perky at an invitation to take a walk!

Hi, I like the look of that beans and rice dish! I bought some of those tomatoes accidentally and couldn't figure out what to do with them -- this will be perfect. Thanks for the tip!

FOOD
My favorite go to food is popcorn. We buy a large box of the 94% ff every time we're at Costco. It's a staple at my house! I even keep a (unpopped) bag in my purse. That way, if I'm at a friend's house and there is food, I can easily pop-up a bag and no overeating worries!!

EXERCISE
Running, running, and running. I like doing the Firm and spinning also. But running is by far my favorite!

STRESS RELIEF
Crafts (knit, crochet, cross-stitch, etc). Also, I've been trying to teach myself how to play the piano. I can play VERY basic songs now. But, I enjoy it.

Another thing I do to relieve stress is browsing the internet. I spend WAY too much time doing it and I am thinking of ways to cut back. I don't like feeling idle. It really is a time waster. One of these days, I'll figure it out.

Edited to add: another stress reliever is running!!! :)

Finally posting my Go-To's! Love this idea.

FOOD:

Greek Yogurt - I have 2, 6-oz servings a day! Honey Vanilla in the morning. I cut up an apple into small slices, dust them with cinnamon, then use them to scoop out the yogurt. The combo of sweet and mildly sour (you know, that Greek Yogurt tang) on the cinnamon apple is amazing. In the afternoon, I put a little dip mix into a plain cup and stir it up, leave it for maybe half an hour in the fridge, then use it as a veggie dip! MMMMmmmmm...

Popcorn - Still love me some 94% fat free popcorn. I put garlic powder, chili powder, and shake a little parm cheese on top. I find I stay happiest when I can eat in bulk, so this works!

Brown Rice and Black Beans - This is my favorite lunch. I mix 2/3c brown rice w/ 1/2c black beans, 1/3 cup canned diced spicy tomatos, and add cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Lately I've been adding flaxseed meal as well, to help me get my Omegas and fats.

Bagged Salad - I have a HUUUUUGE salad every day at lunch. 5 cups worth, at least. Again, bulk eater, lol. Love it!

EXERCISE:

Running- I find I have the most success w/ weight loss when I am at the top of my running game. That season will soon be upon us, and I couldn't be happier. There's something about a solitary long run that flushes everything out. I don't even realize I'm working through things. I love the quiet. I run without music because I just always have. I love hearing outdoor noises, embracing the season (yes, even Winter), feeling a part of Mother Nature. Running was my first exercise love.

Spinning-I know, big surprise, since I'm an instructor. But the group fitness classes at my gym have helped me push myself harder than I would have on my own. Knowing the other regulars will wonder where I am and nag me about it at the next class really helps me get there and get it done. It's also harder to quit early when you've got a whole class watching! lol. I love the friends I've made at my gym because of spin and step. I am a gym rat now, and I love it. There's always someone I know or recognize when I'm there. It's great.

Weights-Nothing like pushing a heavy weight around to make you feel hardcore! I love lifting. I go twice a week now, and am hoping to up it to 3x soon. I do my whole body in one session so I can cover all my bases each time, and make sure to leave at least one day w/ no weights in between. I love to feel strong, and I love making DBF and my guy friends feel my biceps and having them go "whoa!" :)

STRESS RELIEF:

Reading!!!

Playing and listening to music- I play fiddle and electric bass. I used to play in several bands, even played gigs, but life kind of got in the way w/ all of them (people getting married, having kids, etc.). It's been a while since I touched either instrument, now that I think about it. Time to break them out again! I am a HUGE music snob, when it comes to what I listen to. Mostly Indie and underground stuff that 90% of the world has never heard of. But because of the time I've spent at the gym, I know find myself loving Top 40 stuff. Crazy, lol!

Crafty stuff- I like to crochet and do cross-stitch (in the middle of a huge cross-stitch project right now that I hope to have finished by xmas for DBF's family). I recently learned how to knit, and have been enjoying that as well. These are great because you can't really eat while you do them!!! LOL!

Food: Baby carrots (takes the place of those chips with a sandwich), Cafe mocha made with almond milk, yummy, sandwich slims, WW pita bread, and I love eggs and fresh cooked spinach!

Excercise: at home on the eliptical and treadmill, Leslie Sansome's tapes, Jillian Michael's Shred, walks on our property with our dogs (if the weather would ever clear up again). And Yoga and aerobics at home and the senior center.

For fun: Reading, out on my tractor in the fresh air with the dogs chasing after me (again weather permitting) a good movie, Taco Tuesdays with our friends! Oh and did I say flying? I love to fly, fly, fly ........ again weather permitting .....

Go-to's

Food--Sweet red peppers, baby carrots, sugar snap peas, apples
When I'm having a chocolate craving, either 2 Dove Dark Chocolate Promises or a Vitatop (any flavor). For salt cravings, salsa with my crunchy veggies.

Exercise--Walking is #1. Cleaning is #2--15 minute increments. Sometimes, just leaving the house helps tremendously.

Other: Flavored tea. Scented candles. Writing in journal, on-line or notebook.

Ok, so some of my "Go-To's" are....

FOOD:

Oatmeal - I swear it helped me shed the last 10! I look at it as I do manna from heaven. ;-)

Sugar Snap Peas - Love, love, love 'em!

Lean Cuisine Shrimp & Garlic Pasta - though these things are "bad" according to the new plan (pffft!), this fave of mine has always been a great backup when I don't have any lunch or dinner prepared (or time!). And let me tell you - it's DELICIOUS!

EXERCISE:

Yoga - I swear it not only releases physical "toxins", but mental ones as well! LOVE it!

Stationary Bike - When I've got a good book to read, I can crank up the resistence and go forever!

STRESS RELIEF:

Reading and more reading! :-)

Oh, and loud, happy music to run to!

So, I think this would be a great discussion to start - let's talk about all of our go-to's since we started this lengthy life-changing process.

This could be go-to's for stress relief, go-to foods, or go-to exercises. Anything!

Who knows, we might all find some new ideas to add to our ever-expanding healthy living repertoire!
