I took a 30 minute slow-ish walk today, sigh. Been sick all weekend ... #$%* airplanes. And now I've pulled a muscle in my tummy, I guess from coughing so much. I'm all sniffly and pitiful tonight. I did manage to do Gail #2's arm exercises, though!

Wondering if it's dangerous to microwave something with alcohol in it? This hot toddy sure is helping my throat, but it's not so hot any more ...

No exercise today- ran around here and there getting ready for my daughter's 25th birthday celebration. The celebration is done and the crazy weekend I just had is over so am ready to concentrate once again on this weight loss journey and keep getting off mu butt and get some daily exercise in emoticon

No "exercise" over the weekend since I was busy at a conference (although I did log 7+ miles on my pedometer walking from session to session!). Friday I went for a 90-minute walk because I got LOST, lol. I only meant to be gone for 30 minutes, but I got into an unfamiliar neighborhood and couldn't find my way out! (At least I can use the excuse that I'm away from home, right?)

Today I went for a 30 minute run with some short sprints. Trying to get a wee bit faster (from snail speed to turtle).

Another 8 miles today. With buds. Nice. I love my hikes. I got to go with two happy dogs in the morning. They got all muddy and messy and joyous on a walk along the estuary.

I went thrift store shopping today. Lots of walking, but ambling- store to store. Great buys- I love shopping (anywhere) now that I am so much smaller. There are so many more outfits to chose from.
I still need jeans. I didn't wear a swimsuit, so I only tried on dresses and tops. There isn't a changing room, so I have to be able to strip in the store. I LOVE buying 16-18's.

Had a great workout yesterday morning - ran 2 miles and walked 4. Then I went to dinner at a friend's house and had a huge piece of chocolate cake.

Today was a rest & recovery day. I went to a GREAT thrift sale supporting the Oakland Museum and bought some clothes that... gasp... fit. The cost per piece was about $2. 'cause I went at the last part where all the clothes go on 1/2 price.
Oh, yum.
I don't want to spend much right now, cause I'm on my way down, but I really, really want to be able to put something on that fits and makes me smile.
I won.
I went to the pool, hot tub and steam room after wards. I've been sore, and doing stretches in the pool and hot tub really helps.

This am...Saturday am- I went for a 2 hour hike along the Bay- then I went on a 5 hour sail, then some more walking, then to naked lady mass... and now I'm logging in my calories and trying to wind down enough to SLEEP. Yummy day.

I am exhausted. I ran mom's errands and done my grocery shopping as well as hers and talk about a workout, strength and cardio, put 2 cases of water and box of pop and cans of soups and fruit and juice and milks amoung other junk and push it around 2 hours then unload it at the register and load it back up and put it in the car and put it on her porch and do 1 jump rope for fun and come home put up groceries and clean on the house after eating bk and water..think that counts for a work out. I am exhausted. my plan was to come home and train for 5k walk, but it was dark , so I will shoot for tommorow.

That's a really good ratio, I think. On the days I walk, I sometimes do some short jog intervals - keeps the heart rate up. I loved that Mare said she was just having so much fun walking the other day that she spontaneously started jogging!

I'll never, ever win a running event, but knowing it's coming up keeps me motivated. I get to pretend to be an athlete, and then wear the event tshirt around when it's over. LOL.

No events for me. Not really on my agenda either. I just run cuz it is helping with the weight loss. I do some walking on my run but I've slowly increased my run time -vs- walk time. So the whole 30 mins I'm not actually running. Probably about 20 min run/10 min walk.

Next week is 30 minutes. :-) Have you run in any events, Gail? I'm doing a 5K in April and I want to do it in under 40 minutes (still ridiculously slow, but faster than my last one). After I make it back up to 30 minutes next week, I may start incorporating some walking intervals.
