Thanxs, EJ.

I want to offer to you a soft sprinkle of dried green color on the food served at your place during the use and the roughest times of the dry heat of furnace or heat pump. Just a simple pinch of dried parsley may assist in the reduction of bladder and possibly other internal soap and water needs for the tissues. Or pinch a fresh section of parsley stems and leaves for cutting into soups or sauces. I usually use a tall jar of dehydrated ones, especially when the kids start bulking at the vegetables they chose to skip in order to save room for dessert. Some of these kids are over 50! Check out my blog and see the rewarding uses for a simple splash of the color green as a garnish onto a side dish. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_j

That thirst has to be tempered with a touch of balance. Eight 8 ounce glasses of water is a guide. Too far beyond that is a true dizzy zone where the electrolytes and trace minerals are washed in such a swift high volume in a short period of time. Try altering some water for green tea hot or ice cold. This gives the taste buds a thrill and adds bladder protection, too.

Cystitis has been called the honeymooners condition, as in rubbing. The action of post restroom visit is never wipe to the front, always wipe toward the tail bone. If the condition is just E-Coli caused then trace sugars can assist. Mzzchief mention the supplement D-mannose. And try to eat more of the foods with trace sugars to help prevent reoccurrences.

Using three successful non-invasive serious patient participation realistic steps; doctors of natural medicine can resolve mild and serious UTI of acute and chronic conditions: 1) elimination diet to find then avoid the individual problem foods; 2) take allergy medication; and 3) take in certain supplements and glyconutrients including trace sugar supplements (this is where Mannose and other trace sugars are winning over some cancers or a need for a transplant. This info is proven at the Tacoma Clinic in life and organ saving events) to encourage a less sensitive allergic response.

Here is a piece of my mannose blog. it is kind of long entitled

In comparison, the grasping fimbrium of the E.Coli become unable to hold on to tissue walls with the D-mannose blocking the holding/clinging action. This type of eviction does not kill host cells and gut flora.

*Here is a short list of foods with mannose (The asterisks represent * *highest levels*): **Aloe Vera, *Green Beans, *Cabbage, *Eggplant, *Broccoli, *Kelp, *mushrooms like shiitake-summer oyster-abalone, *Turnip, Black Currants, Gooseberry, Cranberry, Apple, Peach, Orange, Blue berries, Capsicum (Cayenne Pepper), Tomatoes, Palm kernel oil, Guar seed/gum, Green Coffee beans, Soy beans, Kidney beans, Lima beans, Locus bean/gum, Carob bean/gum, and Fenugreek seeds.

Linda, look into some electrolytes. Like EmerGenC or Oxylent. Both of these can help to hydrate your cells.

I don't drink cafinated beverages or smoke or drink alcohol, but I am cronically dehydrated, no matter how much I drink (sometimes I feel like I'm going to float away I drink so much!) AND I do get bladder infections 2 or 3 times a year,

For years I have taken a cranberry suppliment and when I was in my own place, I would use cranberries in smoothies and drink cranberry juice.

Thanks to this article--I found it full of valuable information. You hit the jackpot of information for me...Thanks EJ!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

My Rottweiler taught me a lot about urinary tract infections. D-Mannose and a good Probiotic is what helps. And it is also good for humans.

Thanks and I do use that when I start to get one but I use the pill form and it works just as good. Plus I take it at night to help get the body working on it without other things to interfere with it.

I used to get those all the time when I was younger and getting pregnant all the time.

Now I never get them anymore and since reading this I understand why I don't get them anymore. Thanks EJ

Great information, but have only had one bladder infection back after my second son was born about 20 years ago. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water.

"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government."

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. "

Good reminders!
Another helpful supplement is D-Mannose... it won't cure a full fledged hemorrhagic attack, but its something to consider when you first start getting that feeling...

Here's some info on it:

Something else to remember is that beets (and red swiss chard) can give some of us ruddy urine, giving you the thought that you may have blood in your urine when what you're seeing is the pigment from these veggies.
Particularly if you are iron deficient.
Its calt "beeturia".

Here's something on that:

6 Ways to Treat Bladder Infections

Bladder infection (cystitis) is a common and annoying problem, especially among women, whose urinary anatomy makes them more vulnerable to bacterial invasion than men.

Frequent contributors to or aggravators of cystitis include coffee and other caffeinated drinks and foods, cigarette and alcohol use, dehydration, frequent or traumatic sex, stress and poor hygiene (such as wiping from back to front instead of front to back).

To end recurrent cystitis, try the following:
Eliminate bladder irritants from your diet.

Increase your intake of water so that you urinate more frequently, allowing less time for any irritants to contact the bladder wall.

Eat or drink more cranberries. Cranberries contain a substance that makes it difficult for bacteria to adhere to the wall of the bladder. Drink eight to 16 ounces of unsweetened cranberry juice a day, or try 500 mg daily of cranberry extract.

Don't delay when you feel the urge to urinate
.
Consume probiotic foods, such as yogurt.

Try to neutralize the causes of stress that can affect your urinary system.
