Hey I am also in on this one! Love my Epsom salts, baking soda with ginger baths! WOW! After a grueling day on the farm this is so relaxing. It also is great if you are feeling a little down or feel as if you are coming down with a cold. It is like a detox bath for your skin! But beware...start out in the tub...then start the hot water running..get the water as hot as you can stand...then pour the mixture under the running water. Allow yourself to soak for at least 30 to 45 minutes. You will feel so energized.
also like E.J. said....removes all unwanted body odors.

For those stinky shoes...try applying some baking powder to the shoes at night. It will absorb the odor from the shoes and help with the foot odor. Try even using in new shoes to prevent foot odor!

Well, I also take my epsom salt baths and I never have foot oder and I haven't use anti-perspirant for 20 years now. So it might be a good experiment to try!
Thank you!

The magnesium in Epsom salts is not the same magnesium compound thats in Milk of Magnesia.

My Milk of Mag has Magnesium hydroxide as the active, plus purified water and sodium hypochlorite...its basically two salts and water. Handy cuz its already mixed.

My Epsom salts are Magnesium Sulfate.

Magnesium Sulfate is a different form of Magnesium than the stuff in the Milk of magnesia. Sulfur has a reputation for being stinky. So I'm not sure if Magnesium Sulfate left on the skin would work the same as Magnesium Hydroxide.

Additionally I don't know if its the synergy of Magnesium Hydroxite and Sodium hypochlorite that does the trick or simply the magnesium. All I know is that I've been using it for years and it works!

I suppose that would be a good lab rat experiment to try! Put a different one on each pit and see if there's a diff!

Soaking in epsom salts will do the same or dissolving Epsom salts in water and store it in a bottle and apply day and night.
Milk of magnesia is magnesium but it has a lot more stuff in it. If I had that problem I would use the cleanest aplication . Less is more!
Thanks for the input!

hey Bobbie!

I don't like using any scented beauty products... I avoid aluminum whenever I can... that includes cans, nonstick coatings and pots & pans... due to aluminum's association with Alzheimer's. I found this tip thru "Googling and Lab Ratting" myself years ago.

Its a cheap, longlasting and effective deoderant. I put it on after bathing and don't need to reapply until the next shower.

My grandson has a friend who really needs that!! His feet smell horrible! He can take his shoes off three rooms away and it isn't long before the smell goes through the whole house. It lingers, too!! But I doubt if they'll get a 15-year-old boy to soak his feet in tea.

Another solution is to put some Milk of Magnesia on a cotton ball and rub it on your feet. It works as an antiperspirant, too.

Good for the pits as well.

I use the cheapest possible,Walmart's Equate brand works lovely and doesn't have unneeded and extra ingredients/chemicals/dyes.

Oh! EJ how I could have use this when my older came home after a week on the road. He went to truck driving school right after graduation. I signed for a loan for him and he was so good the school helped him get his first job and he paid us back as promised. Being a trucker he loves so much took him across the states and he took enough clothes to go and get back home. His clothes he put in a big black bags. They had showers at the truck stops. When he came home in came the bag and I said out in the garage young man. Also he had to take off his boots and socks ...oh you don't want to know why... now if I knew of the black tea he would of came in and sat in the dining room and put his feet in it right away. emoticon

I wonder if his wife know this secret. Guess I will have to ask how are my son's feet doing? .....won't be so long next time it's just that this reminded me ..if I could find a icom for holding the nose I would use it.... emoticon for this post...

Natural Health Solution for Foot Odor
After a long day at work do your socks smell like they can get up and walk across the room all by themselves? Fight foot odor with this natural health method: Soak your feet in a bowl of black tea for 15 minutes once a week. Black tea contains tannins, which fight bacteria that cause odor. Researchers believe tannins also act as astringents, which may help reduce perspiration.
