My back is sore today when I bend to the side. I don't know if it's because I was using the bands or if it's from the chiropractor. I don't think I'll run today. Don't want to make it worse. I may just make it a rest day and push everything back one day.
I'm off to San Francisco for a couple of days so I won't be checking in.

HAHA, back is on track..lol
How about you Nat?

Okay, I did Core 20 thinking it was going to be more dynamic....was disappointed it was very slow ab work. Not what I expected...I needed some cardio, so ended up doing Turbo Jam Fat Blaster afterwards.

I know, what the heck is going on with all the back stuff? LOL
I was stretching in bed the other day before getting up and that is when it happened.

I decided to do back and legs tomorrow instead of today, puts me behind a day, but I guess in the long run it is not a huge deal. I did TurboFire Fire 30 and EZ55 today instead.

Tomorrow will be legs and back and TF Core20 and maybe another cardio of some sort..

Hey Everyone,

Be careful with the back injuries guys. It can be a bummer!

I did Fire 30 and Tone 30 this morning.

Good idea resting the back today.
Mine is doing pretty well...still an occasional slight twinge randomly. I did yoga today since it was my day off. Tomorrow is a running day.
Len, I doubt you'll get the blues when you are in New York. You will be having too much fun.

HAHA funny....New York will be great!!!! Too bad you have to spend so many weeks apart, but sometimes that can be a good thing.

I went ahead and just did TurboFire because I pulled small muscle in my upper back this morning, so P90x legs and back will be Sunday instead. I took your advice on that Nat. Hope your back is better.

Haha @ Sirena....my bf went to Fort Lauderdale for 2 weeks. It is the first time in our 8 years together that we have been apart so long. Normally no longer than 5 days. I did NMTZ this morning and I am feeling better so I hope to continue this trend. He leaves again in August but for 5 days so it shouldn't be so bad. Then I go to New York for 2 weeks so that is going to be another bummer although I should be having fun while he is stuck at home...lol. Men are not as emotional as women so he probably won't be bummed out.

Hi Everyone,

Just checking in. How is your back Nats?

So I am still feeling bummy and want to sleep all the time...went to the doctor and he says I am depressed....go figure...hoping to get back on track tomorrow. I need to learn to not be around my bf so much...apparently being apart for 2 weeks has messed me up!

I am going to do Sculpt again before I give you feedback. I think I was missing my bf so much the first time I did it that I decided I didnt like it. That was what I said the first time I did tone too. Now that I have done Tone again, I like it so I will give Sculpt another chance. I can't even remember what I did...lol.

He is coming back on Tuesday so my head should be back on my shoulders by then!

I am glad to hear this. I have heard that bands target muscles differently, so not bad to incorporate it from time to time. I will do this also along with P90x and just consider it like " burn intervals" was for ChaLean..same with sculpt. What is that like? Have you done sculpt?

Today I think I will do Fire30 and Fat Blaster.

I did P90x Legs and Back earlier. I used weights on most leg exercises and used the purple band from ChaLean on some too. I plan on using that purple band with other workouts.

Tone 30 is really good. She used the resistance bands for about 25 mins of the workout. She targets arms, legs and glutes. You feel it in your muscles even before the workout is finished. I really like it.

I'm glad you gave yourself a little rest. I think you needed it.
My back is still a little sore, so I think I'll lay off CLX for the week. I am going to try a run today and see how it feels. I'll probably do some NMTZ next week instead of the CLX as long as my back is happy with it...just to get a little ST in.

Hey guys,

last week was a little rough...did not do much sparking. I fell asleep every night on the computer. As a result, I took it easier with the workouts. I did not do any morning workouts just afternoon. I am hoping to get back on track this week.

Nats, I hope your back feels better today! Sirena, you rock as usual!

Yes, 3:30am. I leave for work at 5am.
Yes, I did do Push in the afternoon but must have done something because my lower back was sore last night. It's a tiny bit sore this morning, too. Definitely a rest day. I'm deciding if I'll take next week off of CLX. I'll see how I feel on Monday, I guess.
I think part of my problem is the select tech rack is kind of tall and I'm very short so it makes it awkward to put the weights back and get them lined up properly.
Whew!!! You did have quite the cardio day!!
Have fun doing legs, back and TF today!

As in 3:30 am??? What?
Did you do Push in the afternoon?

Just finished Fire45. Love it. Did Plyo in the morning.
I think P90x Plyo is easy though. Never have found it to be hard.

Tomorrow is P90x legs and back and then in the PM another TurboFire

UGH, went to lunch with some friends and ended up staying longer than expected. So have a lot of work cut out for me today too.

Plyometrics and a TurboFire workout, ugh.

Good luck with Push

That is impressive. Regarding your run

it took about a month last time....this time I could get myself almost all the way up for one, so that is better than last time where all I could do was hang there.

I am also heavier this time because of the weight gain over 2010.

I used to be able to do them after my first round of P90x in 2009, but now need the assistance, which is called Lifeline Pull-up Revolution. Anyway, Chest & Back done today. Just need to do some cardio tonight.
What did you do today?

Haha, yeah, I use weighted gloves all the time, but this totally was different.
I got a pull-up bar and a pull-up trainer to go with it that uses bands to help you lift up....awesome, awesome...love it.

So, did TF today and will just start the official rotation tomorrow and just go from there. Yeah, didn't think today was a good idea either.

Excited to start something new.

It is a little like lifting weights once you put those gloves on. You do a ton of reps of each move. No wonder you're sore. Since you're sore in your back, you might as well change the order of the workouts and do the next one.

Yay, way to go!!

OH HELLL did EZ55 and Turbo Fat Blaster last night w 2lb weighted gloves. Woke up this morning with a sore upper back, shoulders, arms, quads have a burning sensation and my obliques and abs are burning. Feel like I lifted weights, but I didn't.

Not sure why, but maybe this will go away as I get used to the moves?

I was going to do chest and back today, but that all depends if I can find a pull-up bar today. If not, then I am going to have to start tomorrow and switch up the order of workouts until my pull-up bar is delivered and installed.

But, I am going to go look.

YAY, nice run. It was 100 here, very hot. Tried EZ55 class today. This one was harder than 45. Transitions were faster, but got through it without looking at new to class.

I am beginning to wonder if I will have energy for P90x and TF!!! Haha. What did I agree to? LOL.

My pull-up bar has not arrived, so I am trying to figure what to do because Chest & Back is the first one. Ugh. Was thinking about starting tomorrow, but not sure now.

I just finished EZ55 and Turbo Fat Blaster back to back a little while ago. I am wiped.

Hey hey guys. How is your day?

LOL Nat, yeah, fun cardio and fun weights would be best, BUT I find P90x to be dry lol..Insanity too. Although I like them, would not describe them as fun. So, doing them together would not be good for me.

Going to do another TurboFire today. Just testing them out, so randomly picking the ones to do. Think the moves are okay and not as bad as others have said in reviews. Watched all the DVD's, so it all works, yay!

Fire 45 is the same one other people have said they like. Going to check it out.

Thanks Nats but during the week, I ended up taking a 'rest day' because I was sick so I decided to push play yesterday. Plus, I might not be able to work out on Wednesday as I am going out of town for my brother's graduation...leaving early morning and might return late night or Thursday morning. We will see.

"Dry weights and fun cardio will work. Or fun weights and dry cardio lol." Yes, those both work but fun weights and fun cardio is the best if you can get it ;-)
Len, you should be resting on rest days or you will burn out. I know from experience.
I did Recharge yesterday...felt good. I needed the stretching.
Today is a run day...better get going soon before it gets too hot. Then I'll do some Ab Burner.

Yay!! I am glad you like TurboFire so far. I actually did Fire 45 EZ today too. It is my favourite workout so far and since it was my rest day and I wanted to do something, I did that one.

I don't think TurboFire will come close to Insanity but it does get your heartrate up there. I suggest you do HIIT 15 first...that is the hardest one to me although it is the shortest one. Maybe because it is the shortest time, Chalene pushes us to the limit.

OOh. That is not good. Always get mine from Amazon (sold by Beachbody) and have not had issues yet.

I ordered Turbo Jam (bought those used) and Turbo Fire arrived yesterday. I did not get the advanced classes. Just the regular package with the initial 11 and it came with 2 bands, calendar, book and nutrition book and some five day inferno plan.

I tested EZ45 class a little while ago as my pm cardio today. I liked it and it was pretty easy to follow the moves. Didn't do new to class, so will try that later to see what it is. I am guessing a quick tutorial?

I thought this one was perfect speed of cardio and it definitely was not as intense as Insanity, not even close. NOW, I have not done the HIIT yet lol. We will see how bad that is.

This cardio speed is pretty good and what I was looking for. Didn't want to do P90x and Insanity. I think that is too much because they are both hard, BUT they are also pretty dry programs. So, you need to have balance to avoid hating life. Dry weights and fun cardio will work. Or fun weights and dry cardio lol.

I liked this one and it had "In the Ayer"

Oh, I chose fire up the music, but did not realize that meant it would drown her instructions out. So, once I figured out what the problem was, I fixed it and it was much easier to follow her because I could hear. Maybe once you know the routine you can choose louder music.

I did not use weighted gloves on this one, but that will make things more challenging and I also have a weighted vest. This would be a good one to use it with because it isn't too high impact and you don't drop on the floor, etc.

Hi Guys!

When are your DVDs set to arrive Sirena? My DVDs didn't have any scratches although I have not used the advanced ones yet. I buy all my beachbody DVDs from beachbody and the others from Amazon. Thankfully, I have had no issues with any because shipping to Jamaica from my Miami address is not cheap!

Have a great Saturday!

It could definitely be the change in program that is making you sore....and that's a good thing. I'm glad you are liking it.
I did Push 3 yesterday morning. I like all of them...not sure if I have a favorite.
Yay for TurboFire!!! Make sure you look at the playing surface of the discs. Mine came with 10 scratched discs and I had to replace 6 of them because they wouldn't play all the way through...yes, I got the advanced set as well.

Glad they are feeling better.

I had an off day Friday for some reason. Just had no energy even though I took some caffeine and ate well. Very sluggish. So, just did Kelly Coffey's: weights workout 2. The biceps, triceps and shoulders. I have to say I really like the workouts and moves she has for this. And the fact that you can do cardio or abs active recovery between the weight segments.

HATE that she goes so fast, no time to change weights. So, best thing to do is jot down each exercise before you start and just have the DVD on as background until the cardio
segments. The only segment that I kept up with was segment 3 ..she went slow on that one.

But, it is a nice workout. You know I am STILL sore from then workout 1 from
wednesday. That was legs, back and chest. This is one that if you go super heavy, you
will feel it. Maybe it is because it is fast and that is very different from what chalean did for
3 months. So, it is twitching different muscle fibers?

I used 40-45 on workout 1 and 12.5 to 35 lbs on workout 2. They were using 10 lbs lol

Anyway, hope to be back on tomorrow and not feel so sluggish.

TURBOFIRE CAME TODAY!!!!!!

The hands are feeling pretty good right now, thank you. Hopefully they'll be just as happy in the morning when they're picking up those heavy weights.
Have fun with TurboJam!! I'm not quite coordinated enough or just didn't try it enough times. It's good to have just a straight cardio option to do.

yeah, someone I know has supreme90 and he likes it. He says it is not too much like p90x. So, worth checking out.

Lenkees: that's good you liked it when you got it. They do have a guarantee that says if you don't like it, return it even if the bag is empty.

Hope your hands are better Nat.

WELL, I used Amex reward points to buy stuff and just bought turbo jam...could not resist. Got the initial 5 workouts dvd with the learn and burn. Then got cardio party mix 2 and the kixk, punch one.

Waitingnfor cardio party 3 for later when I master the moves...the 11 elite moves lol.

I went through my collection and realized I don't have a lot of straight up standing cardio..most of it is weights or bootcamp styles. And sometimes I am not in the mood to get on the floor...so this well help add more of that I think.

Definitely something to think about after CLX. I do have Supreme 90 Day that I was thinking about trying...the poor man's P90X.
Part of my problem is that I'm only 4'10.5" so I have really small hands. I have tried weight lifting gloves but they add thickness and the handles on the Selecttech's are already pretty thick. I just have to remember take my rings off and do my best. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have good hand strength because I've got to lift some 25 pounders.
Need to run today. Yes, exercise does help with the arthritis. My knees feel much better on my run days.
Are you going to stick with the Shakeology, Leneisha?

I ordered Shakeology blindly because my coach tried to ship samples to me and it was returned to here because it needed more postage...lol...not cheap to ship to Jamaica. It is very expensive especially from a Jamaican perspective when exchange rate is US$1 to JA$89. I prefer to order DVDs that will last longer than 30 days...lol

OH hahah, need to see the reviews on Amazon. I saw the preview clips on collage video. Go there before purchasing anything. I just did not realize how fast she goes. They must be lifting 5-10 lbs to move that fast. I was at 15 for one and 40-45's for the rest, so you have to move slower and catch your breath too. Some of these are compound moves too.

I am actually really really sore already from it. Surprised because I went lighter than I could. What I like about it is that shemis good at telling you what to do and she does the whole exercise together with you. She also does some new exercises different from others. I also like that you choose what active recovery you want between each 2 set circuit...so after a few weight lifting exercises 3-4 you do 2 minutes of abs or cardio. Then you do more sets of other weightnlifting, etc. Cardio between each grouping. So, you burn more calories and the cardio is light.

I enjoyed it, so wrote down the exercises and made a progress sheet...so, I can follow along at my own pace if needed. I know what to do instead of scrambling.

The only issue is that she needed to slow it down and make it 45-50 minutes instead of touting the 30.

What is up with you guys...arthritis, gastro issues? LOL...you are warriors, so push through it lol. I think I have beginnings of arthritis..just not bad enough yet to start seeing doctors. Runs in my family and I can feel it in my hands and ankles on certain days in the morning. Gets better as I move during the day. Exercise helps.

Do you use weight lifting gloves? I use them and it helps me grip better.

Shakeology, what to do, what to do...sounds like it tastes great. It also comes in packets...but the price!!! I can't get samples...may need another coach lol

Yay, push!!! Doing great with it. I liked Circuit 3 on that one.

TurboFire shipped today. Should be getting it soon.

I bought the chocolate shakeology...it tastes like melted chocolate icecream when you mix it with water and ice. I started added other ingredients like almond milk to cut down the taste of the chocolate as I am not a chocolate person. I like it with almond milk. It is filling and they now have tropical flavour.

Think I am now over my gastroenteritis bout so I made up for yesterday's workout - Core 20 and Stretch 40 this morn and did Fire 55 EZ this afternoon!

I've never heard of that one so I looked at Amazon. You aren't the only to think the transitions are fast.
It was a good workout today. The weather has been affecting my arthritis so it hurt a little to grip the weights today, but not too bad. I was still doing 22.5 pounds on some.
I'm getting the Shakeology from my BB coach.
I don't usually use any shakes so it'll be kind of weird. I do sometimes add protein powder to my oatmeal, though.
Packets are definitely a good idea for travel.

Hi, just checking on you. I did Kelly Coffey's 30 minutes to fitness weights...workout 1 today. THAT TOOK 50 minutes...lol. She goes way too fast, so had to pause and change weights. Wish they would film these things more realistically instead of tryingn to prove it is fast. Anyway, pretty good workout if you do it at your own pace. Liked it.

Have a bit of cardio tonight, not much.

So, how was your workout today?

I asked my coach for samples and he said he doesn't have any. So, where are you getting yours from? I am torn because I see the price is 119 for less than a month supply. Seems way pricey.

I found another brand with good reviews for the most part Myoplex I think it.'s called. Tastes decent they say and comes in packets too, so easy to carry. Month's supply is 70 and has more protein and more calories, which helps with what I need for my trip.

Not sure..

I promise I won't disappear until I'm done.
I did Push 2 this morning. My heart rate never gets that high even with the compound moves. I'm getting a sampler of the Shakeology to try out. I'm curious to see how it tastes and if it helps at all. Let me know what you think about it, Sirena.

Thanks guys. Yes, I will still check in on you until you finish, just don't disappear like others lol. That really bothered me, can't you tell?

Push was my favorite because of the isolation. The reason for me is because compound makes my heart rate shoot up so much that I lose my breath and can't liftnas heavy as I really can. That bothered me a lot. But, lost more inches with the compound months. Very interesting. Important data there because that means maybe with P90x I should not expect huge numbers. We'll see. I am going to keep tracking each month the same way and see what happens.

I am excited about TurboFire. I was sold as soon as I saw it was a lot of kickboxing moves and that one of the workouts includes "In the Ayer" I SO LOVE that song, lol.

It says shipping soon.

I also decided to try out Shakeology to take with me on my trip in August. Only for the trip though because of the questionable food we might be served.

YAY!!!

You go, Sirena!!! Awesome results!!
I'm liking Push but it's weird not doing compound exercises.
Thank you both for keeping me company in the chat room :-)

NATPLUMMER: WAY TO GO... how did you like it? I hope you are not a lone ranger here. I will keep checking in on you, to make sure you are moving along lol. So, keep posting.

I measured myself for lean... so here are my final results with ChaLean Extreme.

Inches Lost after Lean: 7.35 overall

Upper Waist: 0.5
Waist at Navel: 0
Hips - at widest point: 0.5
Neck: 0
Calf (R): 0.5
Thigh (R): 0.94
Upper Arm (R): 0.5
Wrist (R): 0 /0
Flexed Bicep (R): 0.56
Forearm (R): 0.35
Abductors (lower hips/saddle bags): 1
Body fat caliper reading: down 2MM down
Fat % Lost: 2% per caliper test

Total Inches Lost during entire 3 months overall: 19.69 inches
Total fat % Lost during entire 3 months overall: (per BB Caliper online calc.): 8.6%
Burn Inches Lost: 7.98
Push inches Lost: 4.36
Lean inches Lost: 7.35

What I am not happy about is that according to the 2 different calculators I used: Beachbody's Fat Calculator and Health Test Covert-Bailey Body Fat Calculator I lost 4-7 lbs. of lean mass out of the total 28 lbs.

Is there no way to maintain lean mass at all? I lifted heavy, ate right, slept right, protein and carbs in check, ate 200 above SP maximum range and waited 4-5 hours between workout daily sessions and was losing 2lbs a week of weight. so played by all the rules and still seem to have lost lean mass.

I need cardio to lose fat and limited cardio to 5x a week and 40-50 minutes each session alternated HIIT with normal cardio.

So, who knows.

Pleased with the results besides the lean muscle loss.

I am going to start P90x and TurboFire hybrid July 5th, and will be taking the same measurements and calculators to see what happens. I blog each month on my spark page too...each month gets a blog entry and I record each workout, etc.

Good luck to everyone. I did lose with this program, unlike other people reporting that they did not.

Yay!! Graduated like you. I plan on taking measurements tomorrow or Tuesday morning and we'll see what I did this month and overall.

I am eagerly waiting for Turbo Fire so I can start my P90x/Turbo Fire hybrid in July.

I will post my final numbers as soon as I get them. I am very curious. I am glad I decided to measure every month. It is a huge pain in the butt and takes me an hour, but so worth it in the end to see results.

Lenkees;

I have some more questions for you reguarding Turbo Fire and Turbo Jam. Which one is more fun to do? Is Turbo Jam a s system though? Looks like all the DVD's are sold separately or in small packs. Confused about which ones are the ones to have. All these party mixes, etc.

Turbo Fire...how is this not the same thing as Insanity? Or have you tried Insanity? Just trying to figure out what the real difference is between the two programs besides ChaLean in one and Shaun T.

Thanks for your insights.

I am looking for more motivating cardio that is fun...I have a lot of DVD's but not that many that I would call " fun" to do.
