Oops, I didn't realize we were supposed to move over to the next month. I thought it was a group for what month you started. Guess I'll start posting in the May topic.

JLK, it seems that everyone from this board has moved over to the May board. You may need heavier weights. Push focuses on just one muscle group at a time, so I have found that I'm lifting about 5 pounds heavier. Unfortunately my weights only go up to 25 and that's probably not enough for my legs.

Looking forward to starting the PUSH phase next week. I have no idea what to expect, and continue to wonder if I have heavy enough weights (I have 5#, 8#, 10#, and 15# dumbbells). Getting a little nervous to take my 30 day measurements. I'm trying to remind myself that this is a process and not to get discouraged if the first results aren't what I had hoped. BUT, who knows, maybe the measurements will be AWESOME! Let's hope for that! Hope you all are doing well :)

Happy Monday! How is everyone?

I started Push today. It was strange not working upper and lower body together. I had trouble deciding how heavy my weights should be. I think I need heavier weights for my lower body exercises.

Let's make it a good week!

Good morning everyone!

I'm starting my final week of Burn Circuits. I did 1/2 of the final week last week, then left the area for my wedding Wednesday afternoon. I went running on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I started back with Burn Circuit 1 on Monday and actually felt stronger than I did last week. Maybe I needed a few days off from lifting.

Sirena, how are you liking Push?

My wedding was wonderful. We got so lucky. Saturday was a beautiful day. Everything went off without a hitch. I'll post pictures as soon as I get some.

It's nice to be back, but a little sad too. Today is my first day back on a diet. I haven't watched what I was eating at all since last Tuesday. I can feel in my clothes that I have gained weight (I'm refusing to go near a scale).

I just wanted to check in and remind everyone to Keep Pushing Play!

Think about cost and value really carefully before you go with cheaper weights. Buying them individually will clutter up your space (but if you have a big house it's not big deal for you) and will end up costing more in the long run than buying an adjustable set. Selectechs are good because they are high quality and the dial is easy to change - very pleasant and fun to use.

If you go with Poweblocks (I had these too) they get old because of the clunky mechanism to change the weights out. Other brands may work ok, but be sure to check reviews and durability.

It is not worth getting something cheaper if you are not going to enjoy using it. I use my weights daily for cardio/circuit and weight lifting, so it's worth the cost for me. They have paid for themselves.

Have you checked Craigslist for a used set? Just be sure to check listings for used weights and see if you can snag some at a lower cost.

If you can afford them (but don't want to) just bite the bullet - you won't regret it. But, if you truly can't...then look for used ones and do some serious research on reviews of other brands. You don't want bad weights to deter you from exercising.

Good luck!!

I'm struggling with deciding what to do about purchasing additional weights! I currently have 5#, 8#, 10# and 15# dumb bells. They are enough for me right now, but I'm sure I will need heavier ones in the PUSH phase. The Selecttechs are a bit out of reach for me. I keep reading reviews of other options on Amazon...need to make a decision so I can get something in the next two weeks.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Today starts week 2 of Burn phase for me! I had a long weekend, and let the snooze button get the best of me this morning so I'll be doing my workout after work tonight. Saturday's Burn it Off & Recharge was a KILLER!!!! However, it made me feel strong! Looking forward to this week and seeing if I can improve. I need to go buy heavier weights, and I haven't been using the band for the thigh exercises. Living out of boxes at the moment, and I think it's packed away somewhere, OOPS! Still feeling it, even without the band though!

Yay, glad the clothes are gettting looser -- this does work if you eat right. I also add in more cardio, but am seeing big changes.

Burn Phase Circuit 3: Lbs. used (2 different weights means I change after 6 reps)

Exercise: 1: 22
Exercise: 2: 25 (did not like this at all - did a few calf only raises) & 1 other set w/ 30lbs and static lunge this time
Exercise 3: 12.5
Exercise 4: 22.5
Exercise 5: 25 (had to separate leg work from calf work becauseof balance)
Exercise 6: 15
Exercise 7: 22.5 & extreme 3 - 22.5
Exercise 8: 15 & extreme 3 push-ups all on knees/4 on feet
Exercise 9: 25 (lifted each calf separately instead of both together - felt it worked better)

PM Cardio - Biggest Loser Cardio Max (w/7.5 lb weights & 2lb weighted gloves)

--------------

Ready for Push circuit next week!

I set the DVR to tape the wedding...just couldn't make myself get up at 4:00 A.M. to watch the coverage!

I'm nervous to say this, since it's only week 2 for me and I don't want to jinx myself, but my clothes are feeling looser!

Hope everyone has a good weekend :)

Hi Girl! Yay, just checking you guys are all out there - I know you are..but haven't heard from the others. BECKAJW is getting ready for wedding - hers - lol

I am watching wedding now - they just exchanged rings. I love her dress, but she looks tired and stressed to me. Poor girl - probably a lot of meetings and ceremonies and dinners...very stressful. She doesn't look as smiley and happy and fresh as Diana did

Took all my measurements three days away from a month after starting ChaLean - (as I am watching the wedding) this morning:

Scale weight lost: 10 lbs since starting ChaLean 4 weeks ago; 14 since March 14th - 6 weeks ago when I got back on SP.

Inches Lost:

Upper Waist: 1
Waist at Navel: 1.5
Hips - at widest point: 2
Neck: 0.12
Calf (R): 0.75
Thigh (R): 1.37
Upper Arm (R): 0.37
Wrist (R): 0
Flexed Bicep (R): 0.25
Forearm (R): 0
Abductors (lower hips/saddle bags): 0.87
Body fat caliper reading: down 2 MM
Fat % Lost: 3.1% per caliper reading and Beachbody's calculator

Hey Ingrid

Thanks for the info.

You're not a lone ranger, I worked out yesterday too.

14 pounds lost? Wow, that's fabulous.

No, I am NOT watching the wedding. ha ha.

Happy Friday everyone

Just did ChaLean Burn Intervals w/ 7.5 lb weights and purple band.
I need to do another round of cardio tonight - not sure what to do considering tomorrow is weights. I try to be careful and not do something too intense on legs and arms if I have heavy weights the next morning - which is why I keep going to Biggest Loser Power Walk - perfect for this situation between heavy duty weight days. But, did it last night - SO...need to see what the heck I am in the mood for.....something I haven't done in a while Firm Pump & Jab maybe?

Anyone watching royal wedding? LOL I am..

So, I am taking progress pics of myself since March 14th (although I started ChaLean 2 weeks after that) and have lost 14 pounds and am starting to see my abs outline. I do this workout works if you stick with it and eat pretty clean.

I unfortunately gained some weight during my 2010 break, so am working on getting all of it off and maybe getting a little more definition on my legs...I have very little fat on my top half, so showing muscle there is much easier for me, but abs and legs are a lot harder - that's where all my fat goes and never wants to go away.

So, my goal is to get more "cuts" on my legs and calves and abs..we'll see if I can get there this year.

Hope everyone had a good day today and is moving along with the workouts and I am not a lone ranger here...

Hi!

Ok, checked the pamphlet and they have a website you have to log into for this and it looks like it gets the price for the 5-52 lb ones to $359.10 - you save 10% and get free shipping.
On their regular site, they are throwing in the stand..which I have and really like.

If you call them to get the 10% deal, maybe you could ask them to throw in the stand too.
The promo code for the free stand is DFSTU4

Comparison:

The price with the 10% off and free shipping is $359.01 for the 552 selectechs - plus sales tax

The price of the weights on the normal bowflex site is $399 and free stand code DSTU4 - (price of the stand normally is $149) + sales tax and think shipping is free.

So, it depends on if you want the stand or not.

If you can get them used, that will always be cheaper, but if you want new ...that's what they are offering.

You might also want to see how much Amazon is charging.

I am so excited for you. You will have a great time!! Hope all goes well and smoothly for you.
You said you are coming right back, so no honeymoon right now? That will hekp keep you on track with ChaLean - so that's really good.

I hope you post pictures for us to see...yay!!

I have a set of those same Reebok weights too. I bought them before I had to get the SelecTechs. It's great to have those too, so I can have 2 different sets of weights ready for the smaller amounts...one set at 5 and another at 10 and so on. Yeah, the slider on those is not at easy as the dial on the Selectechs.

I did Burn It Off and then later Bob Harper's Ultimate Cardio Body - that one is killer

Sirena, I'm so excited! Today is my last day of work until after the wedding, so the clock is moving incredibly slow. I'm picking up my dress tonight after work and then we are traveling to New York tomorrow morning! We spent last night finalizing the seating chart and double checking our packing lists to make sure we don't forget anything.

Right now I'm using Reebok weights that you can select the size. They go from 5 pounds to 25 pounds. I got them from Target for about $80 (I think--I bought them a few years ago). They work, but are a little difficult to use. I often have to pause the video while I slide the bar to change the weight. I'm concerned that 25 isn't enough for my lower body, but for upper body these work great. I've just started using 20 pounds for the lower body exercises. Once I start Push, I may consider buying heavier.

Yay, glad there are a few people starting and moving along nicely. Yeah, she uses the Selectechs - the ones I have..the guy in the background does too. They are compact and work great. Mine came with free shipping and a free stand. I just got a flier in the mail today offering 10% plus shipping on any of their products for myself and a friend. If anyone wants to buy the weights by the end of May you can use my coupon - I would have to call them to find out what info. they need so the discount is applied.

Anyway, they offer deals on their stuff all the time. The weights are worthwhile if you can afford it, because they will last you a long time and you will outgrow weights fast if you consistently work at it.

I am covered up to 120 lbs right now, but I am retraining after a year break. In 2009 I outgrew all the weights and was about to have to start a gym to get access to heavier - but then I took a break unexpectedly - so starting up again.

So, tomorrow I am going to do burn circuit 1. Just taking it a little easier, and tomorrow I will hopefully get to join the pool.

I am still using my bands-not too bad. I'd love to get the weights she uses in the video-maybe in the future ;)

Hope everyone is having a great night!

Hi Everyone!

Hi Jennifer. I understand what you mean. I've lifted weights (inconsistently) for a while so I definitely need more than the 15 lb ones. I checked craigslist and ebay too. I found one for about $200 and another for 300 on craigslist...if those are still available in the next few weeks, I'll buy them.

Tomorrow is Burn Circ 1 for me..I'm starting over since I started on a Thursday last week.

I did the Burn it off and Recharge today.

I the Burn Circuit 1 today - felt a bit dizzy after I finished but after a little lying down i feel amazing. I have only 3kg weights (6.6lbs) - but I under estimated myself because thats too less for some of the exercises - must buy heavier weights soon.

ANALYZETHIS1 - I'm just finishing the first week of Chalean Extreme, and the heaviest weight I have used is 15 lbs. It's the heaviest weight I have and the heaviest I have needed, if that makes sense. The cost of additional weights does add up quickly. I already had 5, 8, and 10 pound dumbbells before starting the program. I purchased the 15s for $30 for the pair. Amazon.com has the Selectech weights for $359 and free shipping. That is a big investment for me, so I'm going to hold off for now. When I progress and need heavier than the 15 pounds, I'll have to make a decision :)

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Miss J and Ali--welcome to the thread!

Jen, sorry to hear about your hip. I think low impact cardio will still get you results in this program. It is lifting heavy weights that is really supposed to make the difference, right?

Sirena--Last week of Burn!

I did Burn Circuit 1 today. I'm really feeling stronger, even though I'm not seeing much in the way of results.

Hi Everyone! I started this morning - Burn Circuit 1. I also was planning on waiting until May 1st, but why wait?! I need results sooner than later. :) Headed to Phoenix at the end of June to visit my sister, and I'm determined to be looking and feeling good!!

Thanks for inviting me!

Ha ha @ start tomorrow.

I was thinking May 1st seemed like a nice day to start. I have no other excuse so i will start this week!

I will start Tuesday though because I did upper body weights today (The Firm) and don't want to do the same muscle group two days in a row.

I was thinking about the Selectechs...that makes much more sense than buying so many different weights. I'll look into it!

Thanks so much.

Hi!!! Glad you joined this team...that way it's easier to keep track of whatever we want to say about it.

What if you start it over tomorrow with Burn Circuit 1? Follow the schedule as closely as possible. Why 5/1/, just curious?
I like having Saturdays and Sundays free, so I am doing everything M-F, Tuesday I do Burn It off and Thursday I do Burn Intervals. I also add in cardio all five days.

I don't know your budget for exercise items, but I went ahead and invested in the Bowflex Selectechs adjustable weights and that way I have weights that will last me a long time and they save space. If you buy adjustables, you won't have to keep buying weights. Just a thought if you think you will continue to lift weights - you will quickly outgrow 20-30lbs.
Selectechs go on sale a lot of times and they also come with the stand...or you can search used ones on Craigslist, etc.

They have some that go to 50lbs and another set that goes to 90lbs.

Another good brand I used to have are PowerBlocks and these are expandable to 140 or something like that, BUT harder to adjust the weight. Selectechs have dials - much faster than the Powerblocks.

So glad you joined the team - but if you are going to start over, just start tomorrow...do it, do it - hehe

Good afternoon to all!

I must say I'm not new to SP at all but this is the most organized team I've ever seen!

I was reading through a few forums and I am impressed!

I was invited to the team by Sirenalatina emoticon

I literally received Chalean Extremed dvd's last week and did Burn 1 on Thursday.

I planned to do Burn 2 yesterday but did p90x Plyometrics instead and could barely move my thumb after that. emoticon

So now I'm wondering if I should start over with Chalean on 5/1/11. Hmmm.

Nice to "meet" all of you. I will try to check in often to hold myself accountable.

I have about 50 more pounds to lose and want toned arms.

Kudos to all of you.

emoticon

Sorry about that hip issue, but as long as you can do the circuits and lift the weights - the cardio bit isn't important as long as you do something - wallking, whatever...hope it feels better soon. You can still do the burn intervals and walk in place during the cardio bits- but do the loght weight reps.

Welcome Jennifer-sounds like you are doing awesome this week!

So, I have hit a set back. I injured my hip late last year. This week, it has really started to bother me. I am still doing the circuits, but I have had to back off the high intensity activity :( I am going to try to add something really low impact, and see if I can keep it up. It is so disappointing, but hopefully I can keep it up.

Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend! Stay safe and dry!

Yay!! Sounds like you are on a roll. Burn It Off (if you haven't seen it yet) is just interval cardio drills. It's fun and short..no biggie. The ones you should not skip are the circuits...but the cardio can be substituted...only the burn if off - that is. Because Burn Intervals includes high reps with weights and that's part of firing off the slow twitch and fast twitch muscles during the program.

I just have to do Abs burner today, but that's quick. I see that as like a stretch really..lol.

I have rearranged my Tuesday and Saturday so I can have weekends as my off time.

Yes, welcome!

Maybe that's why..went up on weight on some and down on a few..weird. I will make sure to go back up next week since it's the last Burn week.

Today I did Burn Intervals in the morning with 7.5lb weights, purple band and 2lb weighted gloves on the cardio. I did Burn It Off in the PM w/ the weighted gloves, 5lb weight and purple band.

Circuit 3 tomorrow and week 3 will be done - yay!

JLK, welcome to the April thread! I really like CLX and I hope you will too.

Sirena, I went down on weights with a couple of the exercises in BC2 this week. I assumed it was because I did the Burn Intervals the day before (usually I just do step aerobics on Tuesdays--no weights at all). Maybe it's just our bodies pushing back after 3 weeks of using heavy weights.

Jen, don't push too hard. I think it's better to do less high impact and lower weights so you can keep going, then to push hard and have to take time off. Thanks for the congratulations. I'm really excited.

Hi girls...I just started CLX yesterday and am really excited about it. I only have 5, 8, and 10 pound weights, so I'm going to purchase some heavier ones today, because several things were too easy with the Burn Circuit 1 workout. I have hit a plateau with my weight loss and am hoping switching things up with CLX will help me to bust through. Looking forward to getting to know you all better!

Burn circuit 2 done. Not bad, but I have had to really start Banting my hip. I think doing too many heavier weights and high impact on intervals was too much...but not at the point where I want to stop. Tomorrow I am a little nervous about intervals, but we'll see...

I think, if you go down in weight a week, maybe you pushed it crazy hard last week?

Becks- early congrats on your wedding :) a destination wedding to new York sounds wonderful!

I really don't like burn circuit 2 either and had a really hard time getting in the mood for this. All ChaLean says about "you'll want to do this in five minutes.." - not true - lol.
I was feeling somewhat off, so went down on weights for 3 exercises, but improved on 2 (first biceps went up to 22.5 and push-ups did five on feet).

Just wasn't into this today, so pushed as much as I could.

I am already feeling it though today.

Soo, what does it mean when you go down in weight one week instead of going up?

Next week I will push to go a little heavier or do a couple of extra reps as a separate set on some.

Burn Phase Circuit 2: Lbs. used (2 different weights means I change after 6 reps)
Exercise: 1: 22.5
Exercise: 2: 20
Exercise 3: 30
Exercise 4: 30 (had to separate leg work from arm work because my HR up)
Exercis5: 30 (had to separate leg work from arm work because my HR up)
Exercise 6: 35 (had to separate leg work from arm work because my HR up)
Exercise 7: 17.5 & extreme 3 - 17.5
Exercise 8: 30
Exercise 9: 5 on feet (triceps) 5 knees & 3 extras as extreme

Extras
- did 12 slow dips as extra after the workout &
- 2 sets of 6 slow 30lb overhead pulls
- 6 30lb single arm rows slowly as extra - (each arm 6)

Do not be disappointed - it is normal to fluctuate and you have a lot of time after the wedding to reach your goals. You'll be beautiful on your wedding day no matter what anyway..so, enjoy it and just worry about getting seriously back on track after all the festivities. Your plan sounds good, but enjoy your honeymoon night (don't get too tired with exercise ;-) ) and don't fret over the schedule if things get in the way. You have a lot on your plate with the wedding being in another city.

You can get back on after it's all over.

I did Burn Circuit 2 today. I still don't like that video as much as the others. There is still no change on the scale, but when I looked in the mirror, I felt like my biceps looked better. This could have been all in my head, because I had been working them, but I'm hoping it's real.

Next week is my wedding. I'm disappointed in myself. I was almost at my goal weight last year in August (I had been working out and eating better since March). Then through the holidays, I put it almost all back on. Now that I'm a week out from my wedding, I'm getting serious, but I should have been getting serious a long time ago. Anyway, back to my point about the wedding. I leave on Wednesday (it's kind of a destination wedding, we live in NJ and are getting married in Saratoga Springs, NY, near my family) and come back on Sunday (day after the wedding). Unfortunately, the gym in the hotel is less than adequate. So, my plan is to do BC1 on Monday, Burn Intervals/Ab Burner on Tuesday, BC2 on Wednesday and then just use the treadmill on Thursday and Friday. I doubt I'll do any working out on Saturday. When I get back, I'll do the entire week 4, which means I'll be a week behind you. I will start the Push Phase on May 9.

Sirena, I agree that our bodies are bizarre. I often lose weight when I think I should gain and gain when I think I should lose. But, I have found that if I just keep working and paying attention to what I eat, eventually, the weight comes off.

Hey guys..just realized I did Burn Intervals 2x last week. I did Burn It Off today and it didn't seem familiar and I was waiting for the leg press with the bands...then realized I messed up and did Burn Intervals last Tuesday - lol.

So, I need to throw in Burn It Off sometime this week to make it more even.

Yes, Kudos on planning ahead and getting the exercises done. I am going out of town on the weekend of the 5th, but will be back that Monday afternoon - so am going to do the cardio in the morning in the hotel before we head back home and then do the weights at night after we get back.

As long as we plan ahead, it should all be okay.

Yeah, I am concerned because I don't want to be losing a lot of muscle, but the weight is flying off (My body works in spurts - soon I will be complaining that I am not losing anything) even though I eat above the spark recommendations. What's even odder is that it's been over a month and my progress pics are not showing anything different. But, I am feeling the differences. It's just very bizarre how our bodies work and how long it takes them to catch up.

beck-way to go in getting your workout done, that is awesome. I might have to do something like that as I am babysitting this weekend (the joys of being an Auntie)

Sirena-I am still not losing anything, so I think its awesome that you are lifting heavy and losing. You just might need the extra calories to keep your fire going, which I think is good.

Oh, wow..that's great about your dog though having more energy with the medication. Sorry it hurt you. I am getting an Ipad 2 in a couple of weeks - yay.

BECKAJW - glad to see you are on top of things. I am about to do Burn Intervals.

I am concerned because I am eating at the top of my SP range and sometimes even higher by 200 calories or 300. But, I am averaging 2.6 lbs. lost a week..I am worried this will have me lose muscle - and here I am lifting as much as I can. Not sure what is up with that.

Hey Jen and Sirena, sorry I didn't check in yesterday, things have been crazy.

Jen, I'm glad you got Burn Circuit 1 in and sorry you hurt your back.

Sirena, I haven't been taking progress pictures. I don't expect them to show much. I feel stronger, but I haven't really had any change on the scale or in measurements.

I did Burn Intervals and Ab Burner today because I will be out of town on Saturday. I really like that workout--after it's over. I hate it all the way through it!

Week 3 ladies!

I am worried about the progress pic, I cant imagine I am going to see a lot of difference, but here's to hoping!

So, I have an older dog who can't get into the car well. She then tried to jump out in a weird burst of energy. I didnt want her to hurt her hips, so I tried to catch her! I hurt, and she just ran up to the house like it was nothing. She's on a new medicine which I guess is really helping :)

So, I have got to start proof reading when I use my iPad. I have no idea what one line I wrote meant! Auto-correct can be pretty funny.

I did get my burn circuit one in-I am feeling better about having gotten it in. I wish I wasn't so sore so that I could add a little cardio...maybe next week. Have a great night!

What's weird is that I started back into exercise 5 weeks ago today, so I have been taking progress pics...no change in the pictures yet - although I have lost body fat (per the scale and the caliper test and measuremets) and about 11 lbs. scale weight. Clothes fit better and I see some subtle changes in musculature - but progress pics looking the same pretty much - ugh.

Sirena- i am sore from the weekend ( caught my dog, and now the whole upper back is sore) too. I have pushed off doing my burn. At least until now, but I need to get up and finish it!

I feel strong, but I haven't changed weight yet. I am starting a plan to be better this week-especially getting my eating under better control. Hopefully with that I will start to notice a change in the weight finally!

Hope everyone is having a great Monday :)

HI Buddies! How's your weekend going? I pulled a lower back muscle doing something - ugh..and it hurts when I move in certain positions, so am being careful. I hope it goes away. I am doing a light workout, the recharge and ab burner today.

I have to tell you, I am starting to notice some differences in my glutes, triceps, biceps, back and shoulders. My shoulders are more bulgy than they were a few weeks ago. Are you noticing anything yet?

PS..Somehow the abs workout - readjusted me - lol. Pain is a lot better.

LISAMONSTER85: Hi! Glad you are starting. It is tough - lol. I am finishing up week 2. We can definitely be buddies. We are all posting here after we get done with the workout, to see what we are all doing. I also started a blog and update it daily with what I am doing with ChaLean.

Let us know how tomorrow goes!

I know, I'm jealous too.

I didn't get to abs yesterday. Hopefully, I can fit them in Saturday. Saturday is going to be crazy too--final fitting!!

I did Burn Circuit 3 today. I was lifting 20 pounds for all of the lower body. Upper body varied between 8 and 15. I don't have anything heavier than 25. I'm pretty sure I'm going to need more than that for my lower body soon. I'm still doing push-ups on my knees.

Haha, I feel like I am having a monologue on this thread..sorry to post so much.

I finished Burn Intervals this afternoon & additional cardio

Burn Intervals PM (7.5lb weights/2 lb weighted gloves/5lb weights at the end & purple band) Biggest Loser Power Walk (#1-3.5) in the PM

I upped my weights to 7.5, but towards the end of the workout, I had to switch to 5lbs. for the final shoulder presses and some of the bicep work. It started hurting too much - burning.

But, most of it I was fine with 7.5lb.

I really like the figure on the girl that has 7 children. Her muscle tone on arms and shoulers is perfect. She could have a little more cuts on her legs and slightly on arms, but she is just so pretty and great shape. I'm jealous - haha

Hi Girlie - David's Bridal - OMG how exciting. I am living vicariously through you, if you don't mind giving us all the details you want to about the wedding. I love weddings - one of the few happy things out there (usually happy) to take our minds off of the horrible news out there.

Well, you don't have to do the abs today, you know. Abs can be done whenever, I am doing that one on Saturdays...
But, if you still want to do it today...remember...it's only 10 minutes. You can do it while watching a show or something. Only 10 minutes, you can do that - lol.

I think you are lifting great and just fine. I guess I am a lifting a little heavier because of all the weight training I had before, so it takes more to get the burn. That's good because it means that we all do retain muscle and strength even if we don't workout for a year. It was a year when I stopped working out - so 2010 was out. I am proof that it doesn't go away that quickly, so if you ever have to take a couple of months off, you can pick it back up.

My bicep curls are a little lower..I am at 22.5 and was doing 26 before...but that's pretty close. I am feeling a little sore today...just never feel like I am being effective when I do Burn Circuit 2. It's hard to get my back worked to the point of fatigue, so have to do extra pullovers (not an exercise on the ChaLean circuit). I miss pull-ups - that was true back work.

Burn Intervals and Burn It Off I like a lot. I am doing Burn Intervals in a little while. I am tired again today. Having issues sleeping this week. Not sure what the issue is, but seems like I am not going to sleep on time and then am having to wake up earlier. I may need a sleeping pill tonight to get me back on track tonight.

Congrats on sticking with this...yay!!!

I made it through burn circuits this morning. I really mean "made it through". I did not feel like working out at all when I started. But I pushed through it and finished the workout. I really like this workout. I love getting my heart rate up and I feel all my muscles working. I did not do ab burner. I woke up too late and didn't have time. I am promising myself that I will get it done tonight. That's a big promise, I work until 6:30 and then have to go to David's Bridal to pick up accessories. David's Bridal is about 1/2 hour from where I work and about 45 minutes from where I live. Then I have to find time to eat and do the abs workout. It's going to be tough--wish me luck!

Sirena--your workouts are amazing! Hopefully I'll be able to lift that heavy someday. Right now, I'm lifting between 10 and 20 depending on the muscle being used.

Burn Phase Circuit 2: Lbs. used (2 different weights means I change after 6 reps)
Exercise: 1: 22.5
Exercise: 2: 17.5 (should try 20 lbs next time)
Exercise 3: 35 (and did a few lawnmowers on each side as extra - 6 each)
Exercise 4: 30 (had to separate leg work from arm work because my HR up)
Exercise5: 35 (had to separate leg work from arm work because my HR up)
Exercise 6: 35 (had to separate leg work from arm work because my HR up)
Exercise 7: 22.5 & extreme 3 - 22.5
Exercise 8: 30 & extreme 30 - added 6 on each side as extra
Exercise 9: 3 on feet & rest on knees & did a few dips as extra after the workout
Also did 2 sets of overhead pullovers like last week (but this week did 2 sets at 35lbs slowly).

Cathe Cardio Core Circuit PM as cardio

Now, I am tired today. It felt like Burn circuit 2 was never going to end today. I just don't like this one at all, but toughed it out.

How did the combos work though? I am going to separate them again today....just seems more efficient for me.

30th the day after the royal wedding, right?

That is going to be awesome. I hope you post pictures for us when you get back and have time...how fun!!! Just eat chicken/fish and meat - all grilled and you will be fine. If you have access to food chains on weekends...look up nutrition and print them and have them in a folder in your car...so you only eat at those places and know what to get. Red Lobster and Outback are great options for when out and about. I live at Red Lobster - lol.

You'll be fine. Proud of you for taking on all this. You go girl!!!!!!!!!!!

I was able to up my weights a little. Although, Monday's workout was much better than today's. I did the lunges with the rows as two separate activities (lunges, then rows).

Thanks for the information on the protein. I'm good about drinking a protein shake right after the workout, but before the workout, I'm just lucky to pull myself out of bed!!

The wedding is the 30th of this month. I should have been more disciplined over the last few months. Now, when everything is really getting crazy, I'm pushing myself to stick to the diet and workout. It's hard because our wedding is in Saratoga Springs, NY and we live about 3 hours south of there, in NJ. So, we have been traveling a lot, which makes eating and exercising difficult.

Jen, I took yesterday as a rest day, because I slept in--that's happening too much lately. I'm excited about the burn intervals tomorrow, it's a hard workout, but I like it more than burn it off.

Keep pushing play!

Haha, you don't like yogurt? Cottage cheese works too. But, milk products are best for night because they get into your system slowly and that way your body is working to process stuff while you sleep. Since your body repairs itself when you sleep, that extra protein helps it along at night.

Anyway, after all my reading that is what I decided to do and it seems to be working for me, I have to say. I was skeptical at first, but makes me feel less hungry too a night.

Burn Intervals are great - are we watching the same DVD's LOL , you will learn to love it. I am liking Burn Intervals and Burn It Off as nice breaks from the circuits. Circuit 2 is my nemesis - lol.

You will be fine with burn intervals. You feel it, but that means it's working!!!

That sounds like an awesome protein plan. I have been so lazy with eating, and I am so hungry now- I might try to incorporate a little of your regimen (though I am not sure about yogurt).

I took yesterday as a solid rest day for my hip. I am ready for burn circut 2 today. I am a littl worried about the burn intervals tomorrow-that was probably one of the hardest workouts I have done. I am going to do the modifications this time to see if it takes some pressure off. Either way, I am looking forward to getting my exercise in,

Hi! I am doing mine a little later.
How did you do this one this week? I am dreading this one because it was so difficult last time. Were you able to up your weight at all?

I had bad sleep last night - we all kept tossing and turning - husband and 2 dogs too lol
So, I slept in late and got up an hour ago and now have a headache. So, taking in my protein and headache medicine.

If you follow taking protein, and want to be a purist:

- as soon as you wake up take in 100% whey isolate and whey concentrate with (milk) which is casein and that way you have protein for a few hours. I should clarify that whey protein is absorbed quickly in your system and then casein protein is slow digesting and absorbs over hours. So, taking a mixture of these serves as a way to keep protein in your body throughout the day because your body can only absorb a certain amount every few hours anyway - like no more than 26-30 grams at a time. So, this method helps spread it out and not waste the product as much.

If you are sensitive to whey and/or milk that's not going to work and maybe other types would help.

I use BSN Syntha-6 (tastes great too) because it is designed for any situation and contains both whey and casein already premixed. Other people like Optimum brand. I buy mine on Amazon, but can be bought at GNC I believe or other health stores, ect.

- After workout whey protein within 30-60 minutes of finishing working out
- of course real food throughout the day with meats, etc. - I eat a lot of meat ad egg beaters and raw veggies too.
- Casein protein (milk product) at night right before you sleep - cottage cheese or greek yogurt. Greek yogurt has more protein in it tha stuff like yoplait, etc.

I dropped another pound this morning and my fat% and muscle % also shifted, so going through a spurt of change. My body goes in spurts and then nothing for a week or so and then another spurt...it's maddening.

I am so excited for you and your wedding. That has to be so exciting. I remember how crazy I was right before mine. You are very disciplined to be able to focus on that and then on this too! What day is it on again?
