I'm removing the "sticky" from this group to make room for the May Group. Hope everyone is doing well. I ended up stopping CLX, just couldn't hang with it. Took some time off, different routines, and did TJ today, so I think I'm going to do it for a while. Then maybe I'll get back into CLX.

I took my 60 day measurements before starting the Lean month on Friday. Despite not losing ANY weight in the past two months- I have lost so far 2 inches from my waist, 2 from my hips, 1/2 inch from my adductor, an inch from my chest (BOO HOO), and half an inch from my thighs. I still have to take my 60 day pictures tomorrow though. I had to wait to have my "photographer" (aka my 5 year old daughter) back from her dad's house. I am hoping I see a difference in the photos.

hey all...

I finished the program & am now leaving on a flight today on a big trip for a bit over two weeks! I've been really busy preparing so my spark time has been sparse other than tracking.
When I come back in early May, I plan to do the 4 page where it mixes Burn, Push & Lean workouts for one month. Every time it's due for measurements, I'm full-on PMS, so I haven't taken them today, but I AM 2 sizes down in jeans & definitely "tighter".

good luck everyone, keep strong & stick to it!!!

Started the Lean month this morning, and boy was it difficult. It didnt help that I took my first ever boot camp class at the gym yesterday and am super sore today.

Can't wait to see your results ladies :-)

Are you using lighter weights then you did for Push month? I previewed the different circuits today just to see what I was getting myself into- boy did that not make me feel any better.

I finished my last push circuit today just have to finish my month with burn it off and recharge or some other form of cardio and yoga. Will be starting Lean on Saturday, any tips?

Wow I didn't realize I hadn't posted on here in so long. I am still right on pace finishing Week 4 of the Push Circuit on Thursday. I still have NOT missed a day since I started which puts me at finishing on May 12- exactly 1 month from today. That is definitely exciting to think about. I am anxious to see whether I lost any inches during the push month because I sure have NOT Lost any pounds.

I cannot wait to see your results as you two finish. Will you post them? You guys are making me nervous about the Lean month. I liked this month because I was only working one muscle group at a time versus the Burn Circuit. I'm wondering if I will not like the final month. I still HATE (and am so bored with) Burn Intervals and Burn It Off.

so pleased that this is the last week of the program, I feel really good finishing this (I've felt the extra push of completing it in time for my vacation next week as I don't want to leave it unfinished for 2+weeks until I come back!).

did lean week 4, lean circuit 1 yesterday evening... moving my rest days this week, so doing lean circuit 2 later today!

I won't be logging in here for a while. I'm going to switch from CLX to Brazil Butt Lift for a while. Since I have two weddings (both kids late fall), a high school reunion (35th) in June and a trip at the end of June, I want more of a total body workout than CLX is giving me. But I'll start back on it probably in July.

@LYANCEY_0810- it's right the workouts are a bit more difficult because it involves upper and lower body at the same time and it works your core....but it's AWESOME the best phase of all 3

Just finished Push and will start Lean in a couple days. I'm excited and intimidated at the same time. I know there's got to be a reason so many people see lots of changes in the last month, so I'm anticipating difficult workouts.

I'm still here, just haven't worked out in two weeks. Finally got the project done, now it's tax time. But I got off my butt and started PUSH. Did PC1 (WK1) & used 10lb for upper (except 8 for the V-Press) and 2-20s for the lower body. AND was able to do almost 8 push-ups on my toes with my push-up stands. Also, although I'm not changing it because it's probably mostly due to loss of muscle, I weighed 113.5 this morning! I haven't seen that low of a number in probably five years! I imagine it will go up during PUSH as I build muscle, so I'm not changing it yet. I just finished 10 minutes ago, and muscles and body were still shaking 5 minutes afterward. Definitely will be upping my protein supplements.

my butt & hips are sore!!! Any runners here doing CXL? I have no idea how I've been making it thru my runs (about 15 miles a week max) because lean is wiping me OUT! It does slow my pace down a bit, but I'm not too fussed... because I am seeing changes & this program is leaning me out in ways I've wanted it to.

lean week 2, lean circuit 3 today... (burn intervals yesterday)

LC3 seems to be the least "intense" of the three lean workouts for me. I do love those kneeling crunches with the shoulder presses mmmm!!!

I think Lean is the best month by far...

Lean week 2, lean circuit 2 today... I sweat so much during these lean workouts, it's not just your average "shoulder" workout. ouch ouch ouch! Those planks with rear deltoid lifts just about kill me!!! Did the extreme abs today as well since I have a busy 12 hour work day tomorrow!

Oops keep forgetting to check out this board since I am so obsessed with the challenge. I have done Push Circuit 1, 2, and 3 this week. Debating whether I want to do Burn It Off tomorrow. I'm with you Jen- it gets old. I may just go do some cardio and then go to yogaflex on my rest day Friday.

Starting week 2 of Lean tomorrow...

LC 3 was great... maybe one of my fave workouts. Love the core components mixed in... I NEED them. I'm really noticing a lot of strength & endurance in my pushups.

Admittingly I'm getting tired of Burn it off (less so Burn intervals...but both nonetheless), has anyone else bought the other cardio type workouts like "mix it up" "get lean intervals' or there's one called "fat burn challenge"?

Did Burn It Off and Yoga Meltdown yesterday. Today was my rest day, but I ran for 40 minutes and then did the elliptical for twenty. I find that I can't give myself a rest day other than an occassional Sunday. I feel like I can't miss out on the calorie burn. I got enough courage to actually post a Day 1 picture and a Day 30 picture on my profile. I really debated beause I am so self-conscious, but I did it anyway. I picked the one where I saw the biggest difference which is from the side.

Since Monday, I've worked out twice. I hope to get one in today, but all I can think about is getting this project done. I picked up the revisions yesterday, and it's pretty major, and it HAS to be able to printed off first thing Monday morning so it can be looked over again. So I'll be doing that all day, and possibly this weekend if I can't get it all done. I've been/was doing BBL to get my cardio endurance back up, and strengthen my abs. I may just start PUSH on Monday, and just stick to the schedule. Time use to allow me to get in a 70m workout, combo of cardio and ST, but I'm limited now with work and I haven't EVEN started my taxes yet.

@PSAG177, thanks for the congrats! At least with my son's all I have to do is show up. I'm hoping I can get with my daughter soon to discuss everything, but she's just as busy as I am.

@NATPLUMMER, I'm so sorry about your back. Rest it up, and restart when you're ready. You can stay with us, or move to the April team.

I injured my back last Thursday(BC3 week 3) putting some 20 pound weights down (I twisted funny while doing it...bad, bad, bad). I will probably need to restart in April.

I've been too excited to workout today, plus I have a client meeting in an hour. Why am I so excited?

My daughter is engaged! emoticon Happened last night. Jonathan came home early, which wasn't normal, and said "Let's go out to dinner". So she went to her closet to find something to wear. He came in and said "I Love You". She turned around and hugged him, and then he got down on his knee and proposed. That means I have TWO weddings this year. My son is getting married on October 14. They haven't set a date yet, but it will be before October. My son is 29, and daughter will be 27 in April. She's been with her BF for four years, and will be moving to Sau Paulo, Brazil late this year when he finishes his PhD in Physics.

Luckily, she wants a simple one, but she said his parents would help pay. She's going to let me help her pick out her dress. Then I mentioned her colors too, and she's like "what for?" I said, "you have to have a bouquet." She'd like to just do it at the court house, but he'd like something a little bigger, so she's thinking about a gazebo they have on campus that's free, outside (which would be wonderful), and we'd just have to get chairs, and then have a reception somewhere afterward. We were afraid they'd get married in California, where his parents live, but her family is here so that's where it will be.

I'm hoping she'll let me design the invitations. I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself! Her engagement ring is a single round solitaire in a square setting, and it looks to be pretty big from the photo she sent.

I was busy finishing my project because I meet with the client tomorrow, so I didn't get a workout in. But my legs are sure sore from doing BBL yesterday. That will be the plan for tomorrow.

Finally I saw the boots everyone keeps talking about :-) She definitely had on an interesting outfit in Push Circuit 3. Needless to say I did my first round of PC3 this morning after running 4 miles on the treadmill. I almost postponed CLX until this evening, but figured I'd lose motivation as the day went on. Glad I went ahead and did it.

I was about to ask what the Lean Phase was like, but guess you guys got the answer covered. I did Burn Intervals and Ab Burner this morning and will do Push Circuit 3 tomorrow morning. So far I am enjoying Push- I think its because you only focus on one muscle group at a time. I am in the process of ordering resistance bands because I can't afford a new heavier set of weights right now. My weights are good for everything but legs right now. My legs are far stronger than the 12.5 pound weights I have. (I'm pretty wimpy upper body.) PSG- your results sound great!! Jen I can't wait to "see" your results. You have been hardcore sticking with your schedule. I'm hoping to finish the whole program in the 84 days and so far I'm well on my way. Still have not missed a day.

Today I did BBL Bum Bum & Tummy Tuck. If you're looking for a great ab workout BBL Tummy Tuck is killer...20 minutes long! I did BBL for one week after I'd taken a break during BURN, and it really helped in building up my cardio endurance, as well as my strength in my abs and all over. I'm going to continue this for a week and then hopefully start PUSH next week. I had to push "pause" three times during Bum Bum. It's cardio, but also lots of squats and lunges. Awesome workout for my quads too.

Lean Phase first workout today with LC#1!!

ouch! the dual lower body with upper body moves from Burn are back this month & very intense... my "faves" were the planks with tricep kickbacks & sumo squats with calf raises. All of the Lean workouts seem like the longest of all the 3 months at about 40ish minutes each workout. When Chalene said the lean month is a lot about "the core" I literally said "thank God" out loud... looking forward to MORE changes, especially there!

@Earin, Your measurement loss and gain is great, nothing to be disappointed about. You're gain in arms and thighs is good, and losing from your waist & hips good too. Glad you have a new picture to compare with. It's hard to tell just by measurements along, but I get your clothes are fitting better.

I am officially through with BURN. I did 1/2 of BC2 and all of BC3 this morning, so for the next few days I'm going to do a BBL combo to get my abs stronger, and improve my cardio, then I'll start on PUSH.

Did cardio and yogaflex yesterday to finish off the Burn Phase. Started Push today and wasn't sure what to expect. I will have to get some heavier weights soon- my lower body is way stronger than the 12.5 pounds my weights go up to. My upper body is still not super strong- so 9.5 and 12.5 work just fine. Took my measurements and didn't show too much change- lost an inch from waist and hips, gained an inch in my thighs and almost an inch to my arms. My arms are scrawny, so having them now be 9.5 inches is fine. I was feeling discouraged by the measurements, so I had my 5 year old redo my pictures. I compared them side by side on the computer to the ones from day 1 of ChaLEAN. The biggest difference I see is from the side but that was all the encouragement I needed to get off my butt and start the Push Phase.

You gals are BURNing me up! I'm going to be left behind in the dust. Anyone else here still in the BURN phase or just starting PUSH?
I didn't get my workout in yesterday, but the day before i did the 30-minute Turbo Jam Fat Blaster and made it through four turbos just fine. I want to work on cardio, and especially my abs so that when I do the dead lifts they don't hurt my back. In case anyone didn't know, if you do dead lifts and feel pain in your lower back, it's because your core isn't strong enough.

I'm with you Jen. Haven't missed a day yet and will be finish the Burn Phase tomorrow!! Super excited about that. Not sure I've had results, but I do at least feel a little bit stronger. I can use heavier weights than I originally did which is a big change. I am still going strong with the cardio (in addition to what's included).

I just want to lose inches (of fat!)- pound wise I don't expect to see a huge difference since I am close to my goal anyway. Would LOVE (more than anything) to have a flatter stomach!!!!!!

I'm leaving for a trip April 18, which is the LAST day of the program... I've been following the workout calendar in the guidebook pretty much to a "T". I really want to get it done before I go but also be reasonable & listen to my body too. The ideal would be finishing the Lean Month April 18 & when I come back from my trip, start the Lean for Life Phase...

PSAGI77, you are moving right along! I won't be starting PUSH until sometime next week. I need to get my cardio endurance up, and strengthen my abs, so I'm focusing on that before I redo Burn Week 2, BC2/BC3, then I'll just move straight to PUSH. You probably won't lose much weight during PUSH because of the muscle you're building, but I bet your body fat has gone down.

Same with me Earin, plus I'm in two other challenges. Getting the e-mail that someone posted reminded me I needed to post. Since I hadn't been working out regularly, I did CLX Dynamic Yoga Flow today, and it felt really good. I might do it again tomorrow. My plan for this week was to focus on cardio to build up my endurance, but I got bogged down with a project that I didn't, so I'm going to do that for the rest of this week, and next week possibly. I'm going to redo my Week Four of BURN since I barely made it through BC2. Those dead lifts hurt my back because my abs aren't conditioned. When I started, I had been doing the BBL Ab Workout, and they didn't hurt my back at all, but they are now because I haven't even been doing the CLX ab workouts, so I need to focus on that, strengthen them up, finish BURNWK4, then move onto PUSH.

What I did the last time I started PUSH was to use the weights I was using during BURN, although one can go heavier on the squats. Then I made a note for Week 2 whether I needed to go heavier or lighter. Someone whose actually doing PUSH now might be able to tell you, but you are going to definitely need to make sure you're getting in enough calories and your protein intake to your maximum limit.

I just got my shipment from Bodybuilding.com, and printed off a sheet that says a person needs at least 1mg of protein for each pound they weigh, more if they're actually trying to build, like 1.5mg.

Sorry guys! I've been so into the 16 week challenge that I've been neglecting this message board. I only have BC3 left, and I will be done with the Burn Phase! Super excited about that. I am not sure I will have any results when I measure though :-( Instead of the last Burn It Off and Recharge on Friday, I am going to go to the gym and run my 5(ish) miles and then go to 6am yogaflex class. I figure that is a better cardio burn and definitely a better stretch with a full length yoga workout.

How heavy are the weights you guys are using for Push?? I am worried mine aren't heavy enough, but can't afford to buy a whole set of heavier weights.

@BRIOBRIO, good girl! That's what I'm doing...taking a week off between phases. I also ordered some protein powder and bars from BODYBUILDING.COM hoping that will help me with my endurance. I also use the P90 Recovery drink too, but I haven't been using it, so I'll definitely be doing that as I'll be starting PUSH next week.

I put in another four hours yesterday, this time pulling weeds, and then raking and attempting to level the gardens. It was 55, so I put on a thermal top and my long overalls. I got both front gardens done, and half of my monkey grass area. Since I canceled my flower order, I decided to measure my gardens in case I decide to order some more. I was astonished at what I have, and this isn't even including the area with the monkey grass because all I do there is clean it up, and then separate the monkey grass. I transplanted some from my MIL 2 years ago, so it still hasn't filled up, but it basically is 10'W x 20'L = 200SF (square foot). So here's what I have:
1. Big front garden that curves around the sidewalk to the porch: 6.2X12 = 74SF (75% shade)
2. Small front garden: 10X3.9 = 39SF (75% shade until afternoon, then full sun)
3. Garden by deck: 6.3X10 = 63SF (full sun)
4. Garden by back building: 8X2.5 = 20SF (only morning and afternoon sun)
5. Garden "Gidget's Memorial": 11X5=55SF (pretty much mostly sun)
This means that I have 251 square feet of garden area, 451SF if you include the monkey grass area. I'm glad I did this because now I can go back, look at what I had planned on ordering, and see if it's enough or what I want. I want things that will be easy to take care of, and of course will live, and multiply. Oh, and I have two wooden window boxes that sit on the front porch rail that are total shade and only about 6" deep, and it's hard to get anything to grow in them.
Gidget's area, I can't really decide what to do there. It doesn't have to be as big as it is, but it sits right outside the south window of the computer room and west of the bathroom, so it has two sides of the house and if I don't use all that area, that means having to mow. And I want to put a pretty white fence around it. Right now it doesn't have anything except a bird bath that I really think I'll move or get rid of during spring cleaning because it doesn't hold water...it's really old.
Today will be vacuuming and mopping as I tracked dirt in (I cannot do gardening without getting dirty from head to toe). Then work on my project.

@LYANCEY--Those books are something else aren't they!

HI all!

I've not posted in a while. I took about 1 week off after the burn phase to get in some more jogging and other cardio. I will start the Push phase tomorrow! I like the way the schedule works out when I begin on a Tuesday.

I just finished BIO and Recharge to finish my first week of Push. I gotta admit, I'm LOVING this phase!! I did PC3 this week for the first time and I think that might be my favorite workout so far! Those boots are hilarious but I totally loved the workout!! Looking forward to PC1 tomorrow!

I'm here...been busy working on a project. Since I barely made it through BC2 on Wednesday, I took two days off, but yesterday (Saturday) spent four hours raking leaves and ended up with 8 bags of leaves. I can feel it in my back too, but it needed to be done and I'm glad. Just wish the leaves had been wetter. Today, if my body can handle it, I need to soak the garden areas and get the weeds up, and rake some more leaves that are around the fence line.

Where IS everyone?!! Am I the only loser posting workouts on a Friday night? (guess so..)

push week 3, burn it off & recharge DONE...

I will ALWAYS whine about those "leg screamers" they kill me... but I know I NEED them. I am just ecstatic for a rest day from CLX tomorrow!!! Cardio only!

I've read often that doing ST first, then cardio can help boost weight loss & as I'm trying to lose some during this program, I often thought about mixing it up, but I don't know if I can do that! Really took everything out of me yesterday!

about sources of protein...

I think this is so important too while doing CLX. I typically also use protein powder (only in the morning with a breakfast shake), other sources seem to be beans, eggs, chicken, fish, nuts... I do track on SP & have been ultra aware to consciously get enough protein/carbs/fat & also look at things like sodium, potassium, fiber... etc.

@Jen, if I do any cardio with CLX ST, I HAVE to do it first. Now you know what I meant about PUSH. That's how I felt, although I'm already feeling it with the last week of BURN.

@Earin, Good for you for being so consistent. I wish I were being that way, but I'm so tired right now. I couldn't even finish BC2 yesterday.

I'm trying to lift a bit heavier, and I just can't, so I think I'll just use the weights I've been using, finish up my last week of BURN, and then next week focus on Cardio with ST intervals. I actually LOVE the CLX Intervals, especially the LEAN interval one. I'm so tired this morning and I slept good. My body just feels worn out. I'm getting enough protein, but maybe not the RIGHT protein. I drink protein shakes but think I need to go back to having a tuna sandwich for lunch. When I did that for a week or two, it really did help. I'll either do nothing today, or Dynamic Flow Yoga...another workout I love.

Did Burn It Off, Ab Burner, and Recharge this morning to round up week 3 of CLX! So excited that a week from now I will be officially done with the Burn Phase! I haven't missed a day yet- haven't skipped a day, haven't changed my rest days. I have been 100% consistent which will hopefully pay off.

Tomorrow is rest day which normally means I go to the gym and run 5 miles in the AM. That's the plan!

Happy Thursday everybody!

I find PUSH very different from Burn... not only are you using heavier weights & doing less reps, but you're truly isolating the muscle & working it!

Today I'm finally REALLY feeling the PUSH "tiredness", it finally caught up to me I think. Today marked Week 3 in PUSH doing the Burn Intervals & Extreme Abs (for the first time!). I had a wonky schedule today, so as I normally do cardio in the morning & CXL in the evening, I did the reverse today... and BOY did my cardio suffer. I was not feeling well.

Despite the lack of motivation I felt this afternoon, I got changed and forced myself to do Burn Circuit 3. BIO and Recharge tomorrow then I am finished with Week 3. How is push girls? Is it similar exercises just heavier weights?
