I know, and I'll actually appreciate having more time in the morning since I won't be driving the 20 minutes to the gym, and I can shower in my own shower instead of the crappy little gym shower. So, those are all nice bonuses to my home workouts.

I tried a new class at the gym this morning. It's fun having a group to workout with, but I think it pushes me too much, in the wrong ways. I get too into the moves and forget that i can't do the same things because it ends up hurting my back and shoulder. Even though part of me says, "take it easy" the other part gets too... competitive maybe? Proud? And I push more than I should. Did chest presses this morning, box jumps, and ball slams -- bad for back and shoulder. Probably gonna hurt... so I think I may have to avoid this class. Sucks - it was a good workout. But I still have more healing to do, first, I guess.

As for me, I start physical therapy tomorrow, so I am looking forward to formalizing a safe workout plan for me and being able to pose my questions to a professional. I really do love to exercise, so I feel a little like I am going to camp! haha

Was planning to do my Beachbody workout this morning, but both the DVD and the streaming online versions were crapping out on me... ran out of time messing with both versions, then went to teach a good yoga class though it was more relaxing than a workout :) Oh well, hopefully I can go take a walk later.

we don't either - but my favorite phone app alarm is on my state-side phone that i use when I visit, so I forgot to take that in to account (it's locked on to Ohio time still) I usually am good at keeping track since it affects Skype dates with family, but I guess when it came to my own alarm, I just wasn't thinking! Doh!

One of my co-workers is a personal trainer as a second job, so he gave me some ideas. I do things like wall sits, squats, lying leg raises, etc. to help strengthen the muscles to hold my knee in place. It's a little sore today, so I'm hoping the run today won't be terrible.

Wow! A Half marathon in April! Excting! YOU CAN DO IT! Especially with family support!

Are you working with a trainer or anyone for your RK? Definitely good to be working on form/alignment/strength to help heal that! I've been doing a generic workout program for the last month, but I told the trainer who wrote it for me that I need some Exercise Therapy to work on my joint issues, so I'll be getting creating a new program for myself soon for that. Looking forward to seeing what kind of difference it'll make :)

I restarted (for the 3rd time) C25K. This time, I believe my oldest son will be helping me out. :D I may have promised him some running shoes if he keeps me motivated.
Apparently I ate too much and didn't slip into a food coma fast enough and I've agreed to participate in a half-marathon in April. Being that I can't run a 5k yet, this will be an interesting challenge. I have a touch of Runner's Knee, so I am trying to do some strength training on my "rest" days from running. I completed the first day of the program outside on Monday, yesterday I did some specific leg exercises to help with my RK (after walking in heels all day). Today is my rest day, which works well because I have class tonight and won't have time to exercise.

I love outdoors!! But, I'm also not very good at staying committed to workouts after work, so I do them in the morning. Which means it's dark out, and usually raining. :-/

I haven't done all of the workouts yet, but some are rough on the knees. Others are okay - I like the "high and tight" - really worked my butt muscles without tons of squatting.

I was doing Brazil Butt Lift "Cardio Axe" yesterday - all dance. I don't dance. Unless I'm doing mock-dance, I don't really enjoy dancing. So, 15 minutes in, I was so annoyed and so utterly NOT enjoying it that I turned it off, and put on Tony Horton's MMX (kickboxing)! So much more my style :) Loved it!

You could find time! I don't even do a journal -- I have a calendar on the wall, and I just jot a letter to indicate what was going on that day.

A = angry/short temper
S = sad/crying for no good reason
C = Cramps
E = eating or wanting to eat everything in sight (healthy or not - just hungry or big appetite)
R = cRaving junk food or sugar
T = oddly tired
WR = water retention or Weight Regain for no know reason
Then red circles for "that time" -- it really has helped me track so I don't get as frustrated if I'm craving more or retaining water, or feeling depressed. It helps me see that time will pass soon, which helps me get through it. And I think hubby also appreciates knowing when that time is coming so if I get snippy, he knows not to take it personally, or he just avoids me more. hahah!

Kate, that journal idea is great! If I wasn't running 90 to nothing all of the time, I'd totally do that! I do realize that days I eat nothing but fast food, I drag so badly. We try to eat food at home almost all the time, and boy howdy, does it make a difference!

Tema, It didn't get put on in a day, it won't come off in a day. You can do it!!!! :D I'm impatient also, so I feel your pain.

Tema, the recommendation is 1% body weight loss per week - so 3 lbs/wk would be safe and fine. You can do it!! I volunteered for a month at a weight loss retreat, and we had people 400+ lbs, and they were able to do 3-5 lbs a week safely.

I have a calendar where I track all my mood/food issues -- I track when I'm sad/depressed, quicker to anger, craving food, extra tired, or noticing a shift in weight (loss stalls, or I gain for no known reason) It helps me remember that, along with often timing around "time of the month" it's also a constant flux. I may "gain" 1-3 pounds over night, but maybe I had more salty food or higher carbs the day before, or feel like I'm retaining for 5-7 days... and I know I'll pee out that weight again soon :)

Thanks Crystal I guess I just want it all off but I know if you lose fast you're likely to regain that and then some more....I'm impatient what can I say

Okay I'm a little disappointed with this week loss just a little but I thought I would have lost more but I did manage to lose 2.6 lbs this week so I'm trying to kick it up a notch I want to consistently lose 3 lbs a week I know that's not recommended but I believe I can do it

hahaha! NIRVANA -- yeah, I suppose it could :) Actually, the biggest cardio part is - if I get up and get the board moving well (which uses little energy once you find your balance and the wind isn't too strong) - then I fall over... far away from the shore and starting point... and I have to walk or swim the board back in. THAT is the exhausting part! :) That's when hubby and I usually trade off.

ooo, favorite cardio - good question! Hmm... it used to be soccer or ultimate frisbee, but I haven't gotten to play those in years because it started to hurt my back to sprint that much.

I guess walking hills maybe? I like my Max30 workouts, but also kinda hate them because they're so hard!

Maybe windsurfing? But I'm not good enough at it for it to be real cardio... more like, "grunt, strain, balance... fall off... get up, grunt, strain, try to change direction... fall off... " haha! :)

Walking can be so relaxing sometimes! It's a great way to just get away from the daily stressors of life.

I will be working on my C25K progress tonight during my oldest son's football practice. I played tennis yesterday with some of the high school tennis team and their coach. I have also promised my oldest some tennis time tomorrow.

What's your favorite cardio activity? Mine (obviously) is tennis!
