Way to go Paula. those are some great goals and terrific success so far. I know you are going to continue to do well!

This challenge was just not in the cards for me last weekend.
Since I am at a comfortable weight and working out regularly for months now, I don't have any immediate goals; long or short term. But I want to come up with some.
I was away at the lake, to close up the cabin, and stuck inside due to pouring rains, with no treadmill all three days, no activity beyond cleaning and packing. That is very 'untypical.'
I usually eat loads of fruit and veggies, but probably not 5-9 servings each day.
Maybe I'll do better with the "do over" offered for this coming weekend.

Hi everyone emoticon I am down 12.5 lbs in my first 4 weeks!! Woot!

**Goal for the Month of October: 10 lb loss

**Daily Goals for October:
~ start taking vitamins daily
~ eat 2 fruits a day
~ eat 5 veg a day
~ at least 8 waters a day

**Weekly for month of October:
~ 2.5 lbs a week
~ exercise 3 X 45 minutes

**Plan to Accomplish:
~ reduce computer time that could be utilized exercising
~ start toning with weights/exercises at work
~ walking on work breaks or do the stairs
~ walk outside every day
~ stretch every day

Good luck everyone! Keep on keeping on! You're my inspiration!

1. Tried a new summer, zucchini, tomato,peppers, onion & cheese casserole. I followed the recipe for the amount of veggies, but only used half the box of stuffing. Turned out great. DH really liked it emoticon
.
2.It was my weekend to work which is always a challenge for exercising. did manage short walks around the building at lunch. emoticon

3. During the long weekend shifts if I can get outside at lunch or break and take a brisk walk around the building, I feel much better. Our days are getting shorter and on winter weekends can go to work and back home in the dark. emoticon

Well. It isMonday... Here I am, hopefully not alone in this past weekend challenge.

1. I made Cranberry Pumpkin Bread, and it was fantastic! 5 pts
2. I worked out all three days, a little more each day than the day before 15 pts
3. And I realized I've had a major shift in my feelings about exercise; when I wake up each morning one of the first things I think of, even before getting out of bed is how I am going to get in my workout for the day. It used to be that I tried to think of a reason/excuse for not working out! I like the new mindset much better! 25 pts!

Since so many liked the idea of trying a new Spark Recipe, but didn't get a chance to do one with our first weekend challenge, I think we can put that out there again. Plus, we need a fitness element, right? And how about a non-scale victory, or NSV, as we Sparkers call it?

So here you are:

Okay, I'm in for this weekend!

WEEKEND CHALLENGE FOR SEPT 14TH - 16TH

I decided to try a short (10 min) zumba workout this morning. All I can say is that I'm glad I live alone and had the blinds pulled down. OMG, I CANNOT dance!!

2. Exercise Friday through Sunday. (5pts each day)

Friday - 10 min of Zumba and 3.26 miles walk
Saturday - 45 min Insanity workout and 4.7 miles walk
Sunday - 60 min walk, just 3 miles - pretty slow pace

3. Track what you eat Friday through Sunday. You don't have to count calories just keep track of every meal and snacks. You may track your food on spark, your mobile phone, or write it down. (5pts each day)

Friday - Tracked and stayed in calorie range
Saturday - Tracked and stayed in calorie range
Sunday - Tracked, did not stay in range


Points:

Tracking Food(each day): F 5pts, S 5pts, S 5pts

Got all 30 points!!

I'll be out of town next weekend and without internet access. I'll try the next weekend challenge after that, though.

hope its not to late to enter my info for the first weekend challenge
i stayed the same as far as the weight went.
and did 120 minutes
and i made the vegitables stuff eggplant from the sparkpeople cookbook. it was yummy and will make it again. and both my daughter and granddaughter liked it.

can't wait for the next challenge on the 14th.

Good going girls! You both made part of the challenge and that is a great start.

I did well over 100 minutes of exercise, almost 200 in fact, but I didn't make the lasagna because the guests we were supposed to have couldn't make it. Too big a recipe for 2. So, I've set it aside and will make it another time.
In the meantime I'm going to look for those cupcakes, pumpkin is an absolute favorite of mine! Thanks.
Hope the shoulder is better soon Susan, and keep up the good work on healthy eating.

I got over 120 fitness minutes in this weekend.

I wanted to try the pumpkin spice cupcakes as I have been wanting something sweet. It just didn't work out for me to make them. I just didn't have the time to make them. I will make them sometime this week.

Great job!! I did the recipes Friday night, a great Tilapia recipe, and found a great creamed spinach! I am not going to make the fitness side though. Suffering from shoulder pain, may try to hit the treadmill later, but am so bummed!!

Attitude is everything so pick a good one!!

Day 1 of our weekend challenge, and I'm off to a good start!
Did a cross country hike, 5 miles and took a little over an hour. Did that tonight because I'm not sure what I'll have time for tomorrow.
And I've printed out the "Slow-cooker Lasagna" recipe to try. Not something I would usually do but the reviews are outstanding!
Let you know how it goes, company coming for dinner tomorrow....hope it's as good as everybody said!
