I too amd back from a 2 yr sp absence! I lost 4 pounds last week, my weigh in is in the morning...dun dun dun. I had a triple infection this week, and missed some cardio minutes. Followed my nutrition to the letter though, so hoping I havn't gained any weight back. Wish me luck!

I lost 2.5 this week making a total of 10 pounds lost my first month back on Sparks after a 2 year absence. Tracking my food and having an accurate calorie count has made all the difference. Now I just have to keep going!

I have not lost anything since ive started SP. I am not giving up but I must say I need a little motivation. I exercised more than I ever have in one week and nothing showed on the scale except a weight gain. Tracking my food is a bit of a challenge especially since I am not always at a computer. I guess I will try a better job at trying to track. Thanks for listening just a little down.

JOCI - Congradulations on losing 10 lbs. That is 10 less pounds that you have to carry around with you everywhere you go. That is a great feeling. =o)
My 15th weigh in & measurements were nice. I'm down to 160.5 (Just a half pd shy of 25.) I have continued to lose inches.
Finally broke down today and bought a tape measure at Michaels. Something other than paper Spark tape measure I put together. I know it will change the results a little, but hopefully this will be as accurate as I can make them.

Heck, I just realized today that I've hit my 10 pound mark. But it's been 8 weeks. However, I do keep telling myself that I'm the tortoise - slow moving, but still wins the race!

So 2 weeks ago I was so happy about losing 3+ pounds and being at 208. Then the holiday weekend came, followed by my visitor. Those 3 pounds crept back on. But I was sure it was water weight. Whether it was or not, I must have done something right, because 2 weeks & 1 day later, I'm now 4 ounces less than that! Basically, I stayed the same through all that, and that's ok!
Last night I decided to start a little workout and tried to hook my laptop up to our tv, but we must not have the right cable. Oh well. The thought was there! Sun I'm going to NYC with hubby for a few days. I'm sure we'll get exercise just walking around the city! Although I did suggest looking for things that are exercise too, for both of us!

Weigh to go Sheila!!!
I weighed in 2 days early this week as we're heading out of town today. I'm soooo very happy to say that I made my first mini goal yesterday and lost 3 pounds this week!! Not only that, but I pulled out the box of clothes that were one size smaller than current and they all F-I-T!!! Who knew a size 16 could feel sooo thin? Yes, I cried like a baby!!
This really is one day at a time... On to the next one...

I posted a blog about this, but now I saw this thread. Since I'm feeling so good about things, I'll "brag" again. haha.
The scale has been pretty stagnant over the last few weeks - lose a pound, only to gain it back over the weekend. I knew weekends were my prob. So this week/weekend I made a conscious effort to change things and see how things went.
Today was weigh in day. I just wanted to see 210. Instead, it was 208.6!!! I haven't seen below the 10's in years! Also, my fat % went down by 1, and my hips went down 1".
Now I'm just hoping this isn't fleeting. A holiday weekend, followed by my "visitor". Next week's weigh in is going to be tough! But I'm going to keep plugging away, and hopefully will see things stayed the same, or went down!

I sort of fell of the wagon for a while. I just got some of my determination back, so I decided to hit the gym. After my work out, I was about to take a shower when my eye caught the scale. It had been weeks since I weighed myself, so I stepped on the scale. 137! I was shocked. I know a towel has some weight, so I figured 136. That means that when though I wasn't monitoring my intake or working out as regularly as I should, I still lost a pound. I weighed myself the next morning, and my guess was right, 136. Being on Spark, and really noticing what I eat and how often, actually changed the way I eat. Normally I would have gained in such a situation, but I lost. I feel really proud of myself, because that means I am actually using healthy eating habits, not just losing because of the numbers game. I also checked out my reports, and I am still on track for my goal. I honestly can't believe it.

Ladrienne: Losing inches is as good as losing pounds! It only means you are indeed losing fat and gaining muscles mass, which burns about 50 times more calories than fat...Losing inches also translates into smaller clothes!!!! ;-)

Weighed in today and gained a few ounces. On the up side had to put a new hole in my belt so I must be losing inches. I am going to go back to weighing in every two weeks. I just don't see results weighing in every week. I will be so happy to get to at least 165lbs. It is taking forever.

I'm feeling happy. I hopped on the scale this morning, and I'm down 2 lbs since last weigh in. I've lost a total of 4 lbs thus far. I've been doing a lot of cardio, and I can see the loss around my stomach. I know I have strong abs, its just about getting rid of the fat so they'll show.

Thanks Sirena, I guess I was only looking at success in terms of weight loss, and compared to everyone else I only lost a minuscle 3 lbs, but in my case there's other ways to measure success. Imagine if I lost 30 lbs! I would be in the hospital, probably dead! My goal is to get sexy and fabulous, a tight toned body in my 40's, look better than some of those 20 year olds out there.. I've been doing hard core cardio in my copoeira class 3 times a week, and running/walking on the other days, plus ST 5 days a week.

I've only lost 3 pounds since i started SP nearly 3 months ago, but if you look at my ticker I don't have much to lose. I even changed my goal weight from 90 to 92. I decided that I don't need to be too skinny. Anyway, I would like to announce that I haven't lost weight, but my stomach is flat now, my abs are starting to show (a two-pack, not a 6 pack yet) and I've gone done from 22.4 % body fat to 17.8%, which is where I was about a year ago. My goal is 15 %, or whenever I lose the cellulite and fat from my backside, the squishy stuff while building glute muscles. I was at 15 % 3 years ago. Not skinny bony 15% but toned and sexy 15%!

As for me I weighed in on Sunday and I've lost 30.5lbs total since the end of March YAY!! I'm hoping to get to my goal by this Sat. I'm only a lb and a half away :)

I'm with DiveGoddess, I keep losing & gaining the same 3 lbs due to my weight lifting. I am fully aware that muscle weighs 2-3 times that of muscle, and frankly I'm OK with it. I also know I could do more cardio to lose more fat...Thanks Jezwanda for your input ;-)

Hey DiveGoddess, muscle weighs more than fat, so that 2.5 lbs is probably that muscle gain. Its a good thing, even if your pants are tighter. Cardio is what burns the fat on top, strength builds the muscles underneath.

I'm going up and down up in down with the same 2.5 pounds. I've also gained about 4 inches and my pants are tight! BUT I think it's actually muscle gain from all the lunges I am doing in my capoeira class. I think I'm gaining muscle faster than I am burning off the fat.

I'm excited - for the first time, I scored "very healthy" on the healthy lifestyle scale. I've been having mostly "healthy" days, but today I put it all together.

Well....maybe not menopause....
This morning I was back up so I'll leave the ticker alone for a while. Still, I know I had a great day yesterday so I WILL NOT let this throw me off track.
It's amazing to me that, after eating everything you are "supposed" to eat (protein servings, fruits and veggies, etc.) there really aren't enough calories left over for much "fun" food. I don't know why that is such a surprise, except that so much of my eating is for reasons other than hunger. This whole process requires a serious shift in my basic relationship to food!

I've been going up and down 2 pounds since I joined SP about 2 months ago. My pants have gotten tighter and I've lost 2 inches from my chest! I think my pants are tighter due to muscle gain. My quad muscle is starting to stick out. I don't mind so much, I'll just be the Japanese girl with the Latina hips! When I lived in Brazil "you don't have Japanese hips" was a compliment!

ok, so i had to peek today, you all know i had family in from Chicago for a week, so it was junk food hell around here! so i get on the scale Tuesday after they leave, gain 3 pounds., so now today the scale is calling my name saying jump on me so i gave in to it, and guess what down 4 pounds, how can that be? it is crazy! 4 pounds in 3 day's!ok i am gonna get off here i know i talk to much. have a great day everyone.

Well, I joined a little over a week ago but didn't weigh myself until last Tuesday. So, today is the end of my first monitored week, and I lost 4 pounds!!! Yay!
I know it's mostly water and from now on it will slow down (and sometimes go up), but that's still 4 pounds closer to my goal!
It's always nice to get off to a dramatic start - I'm feeling very, very motivated to continue.
