Now that I'm tracking, I see that I barely eat enough protein a day. Maybe I should start using a protein powder. There's just so many of them out there, it's intimidating. emoticon

I keep wanting to try a protein powder, but then balk at the price. Don't they ever have "try it" sizes?

I use Vega, it is a vegetable based protein which is better than the other ones out there. You are paying more, but it is better for you. You can buy it at Whole Foods, or Amazon.

Just and fyi for some people. I use protien powder all the time when I do any sort of muscle work out. But remember you need other food as well and you should make sure you are hitting all of your nutrition goals for the day.
I almost always never do a protein shake by itself. I usually eat something near or when I finish my workout soon followed by the protein shake. Seems to be working out well.

I realize this is from a few months ago.. Did you start with some protein? If so are you liking it? I am in love with my protein supplement ProFit, I use it as a meal replacement! I make it all different ways! I could give you lots of different ways to make it :)

My protein is always low, so i purchased some from a local organic health food store, One scoop a day when it looks like i'll need the boost is all i use. Usually add it to a smoothie.

The elevator to success is out of order. You'll have to use the stairs...one step at a time.

just make sure that your replacing a meal with it. other wise you could end up gaining weight with it. I've tried them in the past, but they never fill me up, so I end up eating more an hour later.

Please, Please watch and listen for motorcycles while your out and about!

I generally get mine from GNC. If you get their store card, you get 20% off during the first week of the month. I wait until that week and then look at the sales and clearance items (which can be combined with the 20% off). The GNC Total Lean Protein 25 and the GNC Lean Muscle Meal are the same products, just the Total Lean line is marketed toward women and the Muscle Meal line is marketed toward men. While both lines have other items more focused toward men/women, those particular items (Lean Protein 25 and Lean Muscle Meal) are convenient to know about (if you happen to like one or the other) because you can switch back and forth depending on which one happens to be on sale at the moment.

My husband is buying some protein powder and I'm interested in using it myself. I've never used protein powder and just wondering if it is a good idea to incorporate into my diet. I have begun strength training. Any suggestions would be great!
