My next reward was to have a massage and a facial...didn't happen. I havn't loss, I went back up 1.5 lbs. Oh well, I'll kee0p trying.

I always plan little rewards, but I usually don't follow through on them:). Right now I get a Bleach t-shirt when I reach 160lbs. I have been wanting to get a massage for a while now since I have lost over 40lbs, but it just hasn't happened yet.

Hi Ladies,

I am rewarding myself with a trip to VEGAS! for losing 40lbs. Okay it wasn't planned that way but it's coinsidental that I have lost 40lbs in the same week I am going to Vegas so I am taking it as a reward.

Other than that I do small things, like buy new nail polish, get new clothes, I just make up rewards as I go along. I don't really plan them. They have worked great so far. Sometimes I even reward myself with a day off from working out and just relax after my kids are in bed and watch tv, something I never do.

Baby steps, one day at a time.
Goal: To focus my attention on tracking food and staying away from fast food.

I usually reward myswelf with food but I find that only starts a plateau. I am starting to reward myself with other things. Everytime I lose 5 pounds I get to buy a new article of clothing. That seems to be working and I really don;t spend much money since it takes ma a month or two to lose 5 pounds anyways!

Right now, I don't have any firm rewards. But when look and feel great I get books, cosmetics and I window shop for handbags and shoes, LOL. However, if I lose 8-10lbs by the end of next month, I'm getting a handbag. In the words of L'Oreal, 'Because I'm worth it!'

I will not retire while I've still got my legs and my make-up box.

Oh yes, I love buying new clothes! I find that periodically adding a new piece is very rewarding.

When I reach my goal, I'm going to get some new clothes. Maybe go to a spa. Right now I reward good days with some fresh fruit. If I have the extra calories, some sweet strawberries are just the perk I need.

ui no estaras tu loca..... I've seen, I don't know if is true or not, they said that everytime they need to used like a stick to accomodate the tits... sorry ain't into that..... my older sister recently had hers done and no scars at all which is good.

About 10 yrs ago, I had a breast reduction. It's a bit painful, but worth it! Make sure the doctor is willing to prescribe good pain meds. Ask about the patches to reduce scarring (if neccesary)...

For breast augmentation, they can do it through the belly button, leaving no scares!!!

I agree with Karen. Look for parks around your neighborhood or make arrangements with a good friend and visit and plan an outdoor activity. Make hamburgers with lean meat and whole grains, lots of veggies & fruits. Plan games, dance to music and do races. Give each other manicures and pedicures, even a home made facial. You can do arts and crafts with paper bags, glue and glitter. Make puppets with old socks and create a special character and put on a play...google for other inexpensive ideas ;-)

There are lots of things you can do to reward yourself that aren't expensive. Just taking a day for yourself, to go on a hike, or meditate - whatever. A camping trip with your kids, if you're into that, is pretty cheap.

I haven't set up a rewards "system" at all.

I did get my hair colored, cut and styled when I hit my 25 pound mark. I have gotten new clothes only out of necessity!

I haven't figured out what the reward for 50 pounds will be yet as I'm very broke and can't splurge on myself!

I often used to use food as a reward, but obviously that is counterproductive when losing weight!

Are you motivated by rewards? If so, what sorts of rewards do you find motivating?

Short term rewards (e.g., for a good Spark day):
bubble bath with candlelight
curling up on couch with mug of hot tea and a good book

Medium term rewards (e.g., for good behavior over a week or month):
renting a video
getting a manicure or pedicure
going to a movie (alone or with a friend)
buying a new (paperback) book

Long term rewards (e.g., for good behavior over several months, or meeting a benchmark weight goal, i.e., 5 lbs., 10 lbs., etc.):
a spa day lounging in the hot springs with a friend
a massage
new clothes
a new haircut (depending on whether or not I like the old one)
a new hair color (usually updating the faded old color)

Those a just a few of my ideas. What are yours?
