I am 59 and have a number of brown "sun spots" . I've tried some of the topical lotions that are supposed to bleach or fade the spots but haven't had much success. Do you have any suggestions? I use sunscreen to prevent new spots but would like to minimize these.

Thanks!

Oh, the reason why I was wondering about the NIKO products is because he will be coming to our area June 11th. I'll be using him to cut my hair also, which he will do for free provided I buy some of his products.

Also, Thanks for the offer of answering questions. I am sure that I and many others will come across informtion needed as time goes by. I was wondering if you could google NIKO Cosmetics in your spare time, if any. He has come out with a new line of organic facial cleansers, toner, and masks. I was wondering you input on the products. The website goes into more details of the ingredients in the new products. I am 47 and have breakouts of acne especially on my chin. I have used all types of products and this still remains a problem. The appearance bothers me. It has developed some scaring. I am at the end of my line of cosmedix and need to decide on a replacement. I was using the cosmedix purity clean, clarity, affirm, and define. I just finished the affirm and define. Thanks for your assistance.

Two important things. Are you using witch hazel with alchohol or the more expensive alcohol free Thayer brand of witch hazel? Also are you applying anything after the witch hazel? Most brands of witch hazel are very astringent and have a ph of 3.31. The normal skin ph should be around 5.5. Unless you have severely oily skin I wouldn't use it. I would recommend something more neutral like rosewater if you want to use something in betweenn washing and moisturizing. Rosewater is great for all skin types and isn't going to rob your skin of needed moisture. You can find the Heritage brand at your local healthfood store for around $5.00. Part of the reason you might be getting the bumps that aren't really coming to a head is your skin is dehydrated on the top layer and the oil is trying to get to it but can't and gets trapped underneath. From your picture it looks like you have beautiful skin. Also what climate do you live in?

Thanks so much for the offer! I actually have a question for you - I just started to use witch hazel after washing my face and I am getting big bumps, sort of like blemishes, but, just big bumps.I thought it was very gentle and natural - should I just stop using it? My skin sort of burns the rest of the day then. Can you offer any other suggesstions?

I've been a licensed esthetician for the past 10 years and would love to answer any questions you might have? I have an expansive knowledge of products, cosmetic chemistry, ingredients, and nutrition.
