Blkbeauty- Way to go on the 2.6 lbs! I'm glad you are back on track and that we could help you out. You are right, you have a few more days. Maybe it will be an even 3 lbs. But, if not, 2.6 lbs is still great. I just always weigh in on Friday, so I'm not planning on weighing in again before Sunday.

i've lost 2.6 lbs so far! but i still got a few more days to go ! LOL !! you never no i might still drop another lb. which isnt bad since i original mess up. i got back on track at the right time. my scale is actually moving and i'm losing inches. i'm so proud of myself. you ladies are just what i needed to get back on track. thank you all so much!!!

Steph, great job!

I was doing so well, but with all these medication problems, I only look good on paper. I did lose 7 pounds, but I am back up 6 of those. Someone else pointed out to me that weight like this comes off real fast. i sure hope so. I wanted to lose 10.

I will fight those bastard pounds and get rid of them for good!

wow! it's almost easter and i can honestly say . i didnt do good, but it's my own fought. i wasnt as into it as i should have been. i guess you can say i sabotage my own self! but i'm back on track as of today. i needed a kick in the butt, and i got it. thanks to a fellow spark member! so i'm going to try for 1-2 lbs by easter . as they say better late than never! i refuse to give up! so i'm back in the game!i just had to write it, so it can be legit, it's in writing, where all can see! i messed up and now i'm cleaning up my mess!I'M Back!!! emoticon

I am still at 8 lbs lost; 7 to go to reach my 12 week goal. I'm not sure I will reach 15 lbs, but 10 would be nice. So, hopefully I can lose 2 lbs by the 23rd. I will make sure to check in, even if I haven't reached my goal.

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing? Our deadline is coming up very quickly! Anyone going to make their goal???? I am close but my TOM is due before the deadline, so IDK, if I'll make it. Even if we don't make it,

I lost 1 lb this week. So that is 3 lbs since the start of the challenge and 12 lbs to go.
I did my Biggest Loser workout (25 min) and did 140 crunches and some upper body strength training. So, a very good day with exercise.

TISALEE- You are more than welcome to join the challenge! Do you have a goal in mind that you would like to reach by the end of the challenge?

I finally did my step aerobics workout (I've had the step & the dvd that comes with it for probably 3 months or more). It was pretty good. It's a 30 min program and I think it was a good workout. Then I did 2 sets of 12 pushups and I did 80 crunches. It's amazing how much better I feel when I keep up with the exercise.

I had to work both jobs yesterday, but since I hadn't gotten much exercise I did 10 mins of strength training. So not alot, but better than nothing.
I lost 1 lb this week, so I have 13 lbs to go to reach my goal by Easter. I have the weekend off, so I am planning to get in lots of exercise.

Sorry I haven't been checking in. These mini goals are a whole lot easier than looking at that huge number that Im trying to get to. Anyway, I'm starting to drink at least 10 cups of water a day, jumproping for 10 minutes is not a joke, I go the gym and do cardio for 1 hr 4 times a week and my trainer is kicking my butt!! 3 weeks into the challenge Im down 9lbs/almost halfway to my 12 week goal!! emoticon

Ok, how about an increase of 10 mins of exercise over whatever you did last week (for me that would be a goal of 135 mins). As far as a nutrition/food focus, how about focusing on protein and trying to get in your recommended range every day this week.
Does that sound good to everyone?

This is my second year of the National Body Challenge. People are pretty nice at the gyms. I have never heard anyone say anything about my weight. In fact I get a few greetings and head nods from others that are overweight.....kind of like a club. This year, I got my BF to go with me! Just do it. It is only for 2 months. Be warned, they will try to pressure you into a membership. Just tell them, you cannot decide today. The guy our my Bally's was really pressuring us that first day. He has not bothered us since.

Hello all. I was wondering id anyone is going to do the National Body Challenge from Discovery health? My sister roped me into it and now it seems I also have an 8 week free membership to Bally's Gym. I go to meet with a trainer for the 1st time on Tuesday to get me a program and to learn to use the machines.

I am kinda nervous about it since I am obese and I don't want people to stare at me (the fat lady). I do know that If I want to lose weight and be healthy I need to do this. Any words of support?

If anyone else is doing this let me know so I know that I am not alone in this, or if you want to do this. My sister is already small and thin so she looks good in workout clothes. Also she is in another part of town from me so we wont be working out together.

I plan to go when my son is in preschool. I hope to be consistant with this. Wish me luck.

I did 20 mins of strength training last night, circuit training style, so I count that as cardio as well. I weighed in this morning and I lost 1 lb this week.

My throat is better today. Still a little scratchy, but not as bad as yesterday. I have sinus pressure, but for me that is not unusual. I'm hoping it's just allergies since it has been warm and wet outside. My sister has had a cold/cough for almost 2 months (she is finally starting to get over it after several days on her second round of antibiotics). So I keep thinking I'm going to get that, but (knock on wood) I haven't so far. So, I'm hoping that isn't what this is the start of. My work schedule has been light this week, so I'm trying to get sleep and also trying to stay up on the fruits (especially oranges/vit c) and veggies to help keep me from getting ill. I hope Hannah feels better.
My dance game is not DDR, but it is similar. It is a plug and play (since I don't have a gaming system) that I got at Kohl's right after Christmas for $15. It's called American Idol Dance Challenge (or something like that). It's fun and slightly addicting!

I am sooo sore. I am using my free 2 month membership to Bally's right now. It feels so good. It started on Saturday. I have been on the elliptical each day. I am trying new ST on the machines. I think this stepped it up a notch for me. I am hoping for some losses again soon!

I want to get DDR. I keep telling the man that!

Thanks Steph, it was fun. You are doing great too. I hope you're not getting ill though. My older daughter is still very ill today. If she doesn't show signs of improvement by tomorrow,I'll have to take her to the doctors. Hannah has a tendency to get phenomia ( I can never remember how to spell that). I'm going to give her Musenix today. I hope it works.

I've read so many post, is your dance game, DDR? I want to get that.

Missy- You are doing awesome! How fun that your daughter did Pilates with you. And congrats to your friend!

I finally got some exercise in last night. I did a new workout dvd (so that's my "try something new" for the week) for 25 minutes. It was ok, but I think it will take several times thru to get the hang of it. I was just figuring out what I was doing and she would be adding on or changing something. But, it was still a pretty good workout. Then I did my dance game for 35 minutes. So, my total so far this week is 60 minutes. I got at least 11-12 cups of water in yesterday (I kind of lost count). I had a sore throat, so I was drinking liquid pretty much constantly all day yesterday.

So far this week, I've managed to stay under my calorie count and excercise daily. My total cardio for the week is 105 minutes so far. I've done Pilates twice this week.

My older daughter got sick today so my younger daughter joined me....she was a riot. She was amazed at how hard it was. But, she said she'd do it again. She said that she like Tae Bo better. I do as well, but I think this is good for strengthening and stretching.

I hope you all have a great remainder of this week.

Oh, good news!!! My friend Mechelle,started back to SP Jan.3rd and she down 7 lbs already!! Yeah Mechelle!!!

Warm in Illinois also but its scary b/c of the increased probability of tornadoes. Yesterday was in the 40's but all weekend and monday was 60's. I definetly took atvantage of the outseif weather.
Way to go for getting the family involved in Pilates :) Let us know how it goes

Missy- That's great that your girls want to join you on the Pilates. It has been warm here in Indiana, too. It was in the 60s Mon & Tues. Mon was gorgeous, but yesterday it rained most of the day. It's only in the 40s today, though. Way to go on the 3 mile walk. The only exercise I got last night was mopping up water in the basement for 2-1/2 hrs. We are supposed to get some more rain today, so I will probably be cleaning it up again tonight. Ugh!

Welcome to the challenge!

I did start back to my Pilates on Monday.....I YI YI! I could tell it had been a long time. My girls ages 14, and 10 heard me telling my husband about it, so they asked if they could join me. We picked up mats for them and we plan to do it tomorrow.

Micah and I had a super cheap date today. The kids were in school and we were home alone and get this, it was 66 degrees in Ohio in January. We went to the bike trail and walked and talked. It was so nice. We walked 3 miles.
