Aw-ww, Sue! How sweet!

I know someone else with two dogs, and one of them is older and slower. So they take him out separately too.

One of these days I hope to own a Papillon!

My dogs are old, and don't really like to take long walks or play fetch much anymore. One, my Papillion, is 14 and on heart medication. He still like to walk. Sometimes he and I go without the others so he can get a longer walk! emoticon

Holly is the same way soon as she hears the keys she starts going nuts..she likes to ride just as much as she does go for a walk or run, and she LOVES the beach, if we drive anywhere near the beach her nose is at the window and she starts crying, it is rather sad and cute at the same time. I do use her play time sometimes as a little bit of a warm up for my workout as she likes to be chased or she drops the ball at one end of the yard so I have to run get it. As far as getting laughter from her, that is almost an hourly occurance, she keeps me sane..if I didn't have her at this time in my life, being home most of the day, I would go nuts..she is a God send no doubt!!!

One smile can begin a friendship,
One hand can lift a soul,
One word can frame the goal,
One candle can wipe out darkness,
One laugh can conquer gloom,
One hope can raise our spirits,

And...one choice can change your life.

YES! I am using my new puppy to get daily brisk walking done! I try to do several 10-minute segments in... sometimes 20 minutes at a time.

Update on my puppy: Lola is now 7 months old. She races to the door if you indicate you're going to take her for a walk! It's so funny!

I know that she's DEFINITELY been good for my mental health. She keeps my DH and me laughing!

This is a two-part post... revolving around pets.

First, do you use your pet; i.e., walks, fetch, etc., to improve your own fitness?

Second, take a look at this new fitness gadget... for your pet!

greatist.com/fitness/whistle-activit

monitor-060513

It attaches to your pet's collar and tracks the pet's activity movement to help you stay conscious of how active your pet is. The article suggests that you just 'may' be motivated to help your pet get better numbers and this in turn helps you with your fitness activity too.
