Yes sometimes I do. I used to eat Cheerios almost every day and they did NOTHING to lower my cholestrol

On the mornings when we are going to the gym I will have oatmeal. The mornings that we don't go to the gym I will have cheerios, usually the original, with blueberries. Since I don't like milk, I use as little as possible. Every once in a while we will go out for breakfast.

Yes, I eat whole grain oats most mornings. I like it cooked in skim milk with a banana and a dash of cinnamon. I used to have butter and sugar in my oatmeal but I find I like it just fine this way with out the fat and sugar.

slow and steady wins the race... I think I can , I think I can, I think I can...Just one step at a time, I can do this!

I eat oatmeal because I like it... but I guess I don't think about eating because it's helps to lower cholesterol. So I guess I do! I could stand to have it more often. Any oat fibre cereal, like Cheerios, is great for that too!

Have you tried it plain with out any salt or fruit. Just oatmeal and water. That is how I started it. I didn't like it at first, second or third time. But I think it grows on you after awhile.
Good luck.

I made it in my microwave this morning. I need to adjust it a little tomorrow. I'm going to omit the salt, add more water and put the fruit in earlier. This morning the fruit was still cold but not frozen. I cooked it for 2 min then added the fruit and cooked for 30 seconds more.
Maybe if I defrost the frozen fruit before adding it to the oatmeal. Any suggestions folks?

I alternate oatmeal with other breakfasts that I enjoy. When I make it I add one serving of ground flax seed to increase the benefit of lowering cholesterol. I also add fruit and a shake of cinnamon.

I do. Daily at the moment.

I really disliked oatmeal as a kid, and still don't like the taste of quick cook oats. I tried steel cut oats, and found I really like the texture. (The way the larger grains pop when I bite them.) It's a pain that they take so long, but I use a non-stick pot and a no-stir method so I can do other things during those 30 minutes.

I do find it a chore to get through a whole bowl of oatmeal without anything in it. I always add a few ounces of fruit (at the beginning if it's dried, at the end if it's frozen). Before I was trying to lower my cholesterol, I would mix in a 1/4 - 1/2 cup of low-fat ricotta cheese. I really liked the smooth and creamy texture. I haven't tried it, but yogurt might work, too.

Now that I'm trying to lower my cholesterol, I also add half an ounce of chopped walnuts for the Omega-3s. A nice addition to the steel-cut oats texture.

I use the old fashion oats and heat them in the microwave for 2 min perfect for me, but you need to watch as the oats may boil over so use a deep bowl. I like mine made with almond mild.

I made steel cut oats for the first time ever - it did take 30 minutes for it to cook. I am going sugar free (and sugar substitute free) in January. I added 10 blackberries. It was soupier than I thought it would be, but I don't like a "dry" texture, so I was fine with it. I made add apple pieces tomorrow.

I like oatmeal but only have time for the packaged or cup kind. I like raisin date walnut by Quaker. I add in flax seeds. I tend to like it more with fruits and nuts added. I also have a few strips of bacon with it for the protein this helps keep me satisfied til lunch.

I found a crock pot recipe that I make at the beginning of the week and eat it every morning for breakfast.
The recipe is:3 apples, unpeeled, chopped
1/2 cup brown sugar(or less depending on your taste)
2 tsp cinnamon
2 cups old fashioned oats
2 cups milk
2 cups water
Place apples in crock pot. Top with brown sugar and cinnamon. Put oats on top of that. Then pour milk and water on top of that. Turn on low for 4 hours.

Real wisdom, God's wisdom, begins with a holy life and is characterized by getting along with others. It is gentle and reasonable, overflowing with mercy and blessings, not hot one day and cold the next, not two-faced. You can develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoy its results only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other, treating each other with dignity and honor.
