I work at a university, and people definitely play up the sexuality and gender diversity term here. I think because we live in a state (Michigan) that is so behind when it comes to LGBT rights, it becomes more important for universities to be more progressive than other places.

I understand what you are saying - labeling in general is kinda crazy right now. I do have to say I think the "umbrella" term isn't too bad though...

Well...considering that this all came out of London...I take the story with a grain of salt. More radical things always seem to come from the UK.

As for labeling...LGBT is enough. For me, anyhow. I think that is inclusive for most everyone who identifies as gay in some way. Allies should not be included in the LGBT label (as they are not gay), and "questioning" folk need to become sure of who/what they are, and should also not be included in the LGBT label.

One can take things too far, and I'm afraid that this is a prime example of that.

That's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it.
