Gosh I hadn't realized I hadn't posted in so long!

How was the week for everyone? Did you all have a good Thanksgiving?

I was down in Kansas yesterday, came back this afternoon. Was a good time.

Hope everyone is having a good Thanksgiving weekend! Anyone brave the crowds? I went up to Omaha late afternoon and it wasn't too bad, except for Best Buy. I went in to get a camera and couldn't get anyone to wait on me. The one salesman I started to approach just ignored me and started talking on his cell phone. LOL usually I'd be a brat and call a manager but I decided to let it go. Evidently I'm growing up some!

Hi everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been around. Last Sunday my 2 year old got sick and she's been sick ever since. I've taken her to the Dr. twice and they have diagnosed her with either having Influenza or Mono. For some reason they can't decide which. Then I spotted fleas on my dog. We've never had this problem with her and I'm terribly upset by it b/c I pride myself on having a spotless house. I had to take her to the vet so they could give her a steroid shot to calm down the itching. I haven't seen any fleas in the house but I've been scrubbing the house from top to bottom just in case. Finally my mom fell out of her wheelchair twice this past week at the nursing home and sliced her head open requiring stiches. Hopefully next week will be better!

My goal this week is 30 minutes of another exercise a day in addition to the walking I already do. I walk a ton but I think I need to pick things up a bit. Oh and to take my vitamins and probiotics daily.

I discovered Peach Smoothies today. It was soooooo good. I suppose there are worse things I could eat instead huh?

HEALTHY HABITS CHALLENGE WEEK 7

Happy Veteran's Day!

Only 2 more weeks to go! How are you doing? If the answer is not as positive as you would have hoped by now, this week’s challenge may just help you out. This week your challenge is to track everything you eat and drink and make sure that you come within your given calorie range. Sounds easy, I know, and we’re all supposed to be doing this anyway, but how many days do you really get EVERYTHING tracked? I know I fudge a little, ok, a lot, some days. I don’t track one or two little tootsie rolls, or I forget about the brown sugar on the oatmeal. But when I do track everything, it amazes me to see just how many calories I’m consuming that are not doing me any good.
If you want to get to really serious about this, when you’re done tracking for the day go down to the bottom of the food tracker and click on the button that says ‘See Today’s Full Report’. This will break it down and show you in detail what you’re getting from each of those calories. 5 points for each day that you track everything and a bonus point for each day that you’re within range. Happy Tracking!

For the contact part of our week I’m going to use the thread that Jen started for last week’s challenge and ask that you post something on the ‘HHC Team Contact for Wk 6’ thread each day. This is a great way for us to encourage each other and trade ideas for what works and what doesn’t. 2 points for each day that you do this.

Hi everyone - sorry I've not been on the last couple of days. I'm have some "intestinal distress" and have been running a fever. So when I get home from work I have just been crashing. I've not been able to do any crunches or the squats - mostly cuz it hurts but I kept walking every day. I thought it'd help the situation some. Didn't make it feel better but certainly didn't make it any worse!

How's everyone's week going? This is almost over with! I've not lost any weight - well maybe I will after this week but it's not going to be nearly 5%. How about the rest of you?

I am off to a slow start this week. No exercise Sunday or yesterday. I am hoping to seek some in today. We have basketball games and I have a workman's comp dr. appointment for my hip. I am hoping that nothing is done to make it hurt any worse. It looks like it is going to be a long week.

Hyjean - I can't imagine eating a whole head of cauliflower! Have you ever tried the Cauliflower popcorn? I was thinking of giving it a shot but am soliciting feedback on it! If you've tried it will you let me know if you liked it? Thanks!

Serenity - I've been trying to get into running but I think I need to lose some more weight before I can give it a honest shot. Or maybe I need to try it on a treadmill before running on the street. LOL course this would mean I need to buy a treadmill! But I'm glad your run reminded you of why you like to do it.

Amy - the 6 weeks have gone really fast. LOL I was thinking we were into week 4 boy was I off. I don't use a calender, perhaps I need to obtain one! Thank you so much for keeping an eye on us and keeping track of the points, etc. I appreciate your support even though I know you have a lot of other things going on. You're awesome!

November showed up before I knew it. HB & I ate the WHOLE head of Cauliflower last night, it tasted so good just microwaved. I have done very good this week with my Fruits and Vegs. Next challenge will be a little difficult for me. We will see how it goes and I will let all know after Sunday.

HEALTHY HABITS CHALLENGE WEEK 6

Wow! Can you believe it's Nov. already? Less than one week until the election, then Thanksgiving, then ......OK, I'll stop.
I'm not making as much progress as I had hoped, but I'm still hanging in there.

I hope you all appreciate the sacrifice I'm making for this team! LOL I'm not use to eating so much fruit and veggies and my stomach is going "what they heck is this healthy stuff". I've not decided if I'm liking it yet or not but I know it has to be good for me.

The good thing about Halloween is I'm at work so I don't buy candy or anything to hand out - well I did at work but when you work with 200 men there's never any leftovers and I don't like to eat in front of the employees. I always feel they're like "she's overweight - why is she eating a Reeses".

Hope everyone's week is going good! Only 3 more weeks until Thanksgiving - October went by fast.
