Thanks, hope you are having a great time!

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

Is that the one where you soak whole buckwheat for a long time and then grind it up in a blender before adding eggs and other stuff? I thought I had that recipe but I can't find it. I'd like to have yours Laura, if you are willing to give it.

I can actually live without oats. Not my favorite either. Im gonna soak some buckwheat for a Sunday treat one day (I had posted a recipe for fermented sourdough buckwheat pancakes).

Yup, that is what this is about. Soaking and fermenting before eating. Makes for much better digestion. But, as he says, oats will still cause a blood sugar spike so you have to use portion control.

I'll cruise on over and have a look.. When possible, I try to soak, ferment or sprout my grain.. Also, grain is a once a week affair for me now. Maybe one day I will give it up all together.. lol But, I just LOVE my buckwheat!

This is from Mark Sisson of Mark's Daily Apple. He has a lot of good things to say about preparing grains in general on his website but here he focuses mainly on oats and how to prepare them. I don't do grains hardly at all anymore but if I feel a hankering for oats I will follow his advice...it's not just his advice but he sums the situation up nicely.

Scroll down to the third paragraph from the bottom and click on "interesting thread" to get the recipe.
