We have put all of our dinner plates away. We use the same size plates as our kids now. It does help to think I'm getting a full plates worth of food. We went to my parents for dinner the other night and I went into her cabinet and got out two salad plates for me and my husband. She said "you are going to need more then that". She knows that I had the surgery, she just still doesn't put it together what it all means. I hugged her and said "Momma, this is what I need to be healthy".
My biggest issue when I first started this journey is having a plate that looked very empty. People would look @ me and say "is that all your eating even though they knew I had gastric banding. I decided that @ parties I'd use desert plates & @ home toddler plates, people no longer asked me about the amount & I felt like I was eating a full plate of food.
