I'm a pretty private person so I find it hard to reach out to the people in my life on a day to day basis for help. I think it would be much easier to share with an on-line buddy

1) Why you want to lose weight; I really want to lose weight so I can feel healthy and be active with my kids. My entire family is obese and I can see how many health problems that they have and I don't want that for myself.
2) Why you need a personal SparkBuddy (and how you want to help that person); I would like to have a sparkbuddy to help motivate me and to give me a swift kick when I need one. The same goes for how I would like to help that person.

I want to feel healthy in my daily life. I never want to be out of breath from a simple activity again.
2. Why you need a personal SparkBuddy (and how you want to help that person)
I need someone to keep me motivated, to keep me accountable for my actions, and to let me know that I can do this and not get overwhelmed with the thought that this is something I have to do for the rest of my life. One day at a time. I also want to help keep someone motivated and accountable so that we’re in this together.

Single. Urban planner.

Fun to me is throwing pottery, cooking/baking/entertaining, and pilates. I’d also love to get back into playing tennis and running (not run/walking) 5ks when I get back home.
9. Your biggest challenges in weight loss (i.e., health issues);
I have PCOS and insulin resistance, so this has been and will be a lifelong issue. I also lose motivation and rationalize reasons to not workout…that needs to change.
10. Why you know that you can lose the weight.
I’ve done it before and felt great, but let myself slip and found myself almost back where I started. I think if I take the frame of mind that I don’t have to be perfect, but I do have to be very good, I can make this work for the rest of my life.

1. I want to lose the weight for my healthand my self-confidence.

3. I want to lose 100lbs. total, but am breaking it down to 20lb. increments.

7. I am married to my wonderful husband Matt. We have 4 kids(2 and 2). My oldest is on her own now. The other 3 live with us. (15, 15 and 13yrs. old) My husband and I are both electricians, currently unemployed.
8. I like to read. I like to walk, but need a place to walk in the winter. Unfortunately, I love to cook and bake. I would like to find more active hobbies.
9. My biggest problems are my bad knees. I deal with a lot of pain with them. Also high blood pressure and cholesterol. I would love to get off of my meds for this.
10. For a while lately I didn't think I could do this, but then I didn't give up after all!! I've found that I have more determination than I thought I did. It's taking longer than I'd hoped, but I WILL GET THERE!!!

A SparkBuddy is a great way to get motivation to lose weight, as well as motivate someone else to acheive his/her goals. Basically, you would be add that person to your page and check on her/him at least 3 times a week. Starting on February 25th, 2011, I will assign One-on-One SparkBuddies.

Sign up for your One-on-One SparkBuddy by hitting reply with ALL of the below info. DEADLINE: Friday February 25th @ 7:00pm EST.

1) Why you want to lose weight: Gain confidence, be able to travel more comfortably, wear sporty clothes, be more active (I love to be outdoors, and it's a lot easier to carry a 30 lb backpack when I'm 30 lbs lighter...)
2) Why you need a personal SparkBuddy (and how you want to help that person): I want someone to be honest with and accountable to for my goof-ups, someone to celebrate small successes, someone who will kick my butt into action if it needs kicking. And vice versa.

thanks Virgogurl-sorry I keep missing the online chats-as I said before, with the time difference, we are eating dinner then. I havent been able to sign on much in the last couple of weeks-but I think itll be easier with one buddy instead of the several teams Ive signed up with. Hopefully I will have more time this week to be on board!

1) I would like to lose weight to feel better about myself and rediscover the confidence I once had
2) I would like a SparkBuddy for accountability. I would encourage my buddy, give them positive feedback, make them accountable and provide them with a shoulder when they are struggling.
