Another month behind us...time to take stock of where I am. Still struggling with the number on the scale and NOT moving enough. I started March like a lion...and I need to end it like a lion as well. I've really amped up the fitness...

Daily - 12 minutes of HIIT
Monday - Yoga
Tuesday - 3 mile run/walk
Wednesday - RIPPED fitness class
Thursday - 3 mile run/walk
Weekends...if I have the grands, spend at least an hour outside with them running and playing.

I am setting a short term goal until after my surgeries and I recover which should be the first or second week of April.
1) drink 8 glasses of water a day.
2) get 8 hours of sleep a night.
3) stay within my calorie range.
4) log my foods.
5) post something encouraging on SP everyday.
6) If my body permits, get up and be as active as possible. Take it slow and easy.

This too shall pass and I will be on to bigger and better things!!!

Just looked at my goals below and thought about how things went in January. I dropped the holiday weight gain, but it didn't go as smoothly as I thought it would. Really struggled mid-month. I hit my goals, except the work out one. I really need to get more fitness minutes. I'm just too good at finding excuses.

Good plan Cyndi! It's easy to get all wrapped up in the gusto of a new year and by week two you're all pooped out. Goals have to be easily attainable...or our human nature will take over and failure is inevitable.

I am in maintenance, but I have gained a little weight over the holidays that I intend to lose quickly.

My goal for the next 2 weeks is to lose the holiday weight gain (about 10 pounds). This may seem lofty, but I have done this before and I know that once I correct my eating, about half will drop off within a couple days (water weight).

To do this I will:
emoticon Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of calorie-free beverage a day
emoticon Work out 3 days a week (two home workouts, one class at the gym or something outdoors)
emoticon Eat 1200 calories M-TH, 1500 Fri, Sat, Sun; Carbs below 150; Sodium below 1500mg (17 day food tracking streak starts 1/2/2013)
emoticon Reassess my plan/goals the weekend of 1/19/2013; allow myself a food break for the holiday weekend

I do not want to start out the New Year with Too Much Gusto and then find myself falling short so this year I am going to take it slow and be realistic. I want to drink more water and get at least 20 minutes of fitness 5 times a week. I am cutting out soda. I will try to substitute fruit when I feel the need for sweets and I want to get in more veggies daily.

It's time to set goals for 2013! Write them down and make them public. Ask for help from family and peers. Do whatever it takes to keep yourself accountable.
