So sorry your hubby is sick LANUZIE. I am doing fairly well, another half pound down this week. My husband and I have started running together again. It has really helped my motivation.

I am proud of you for sticking with your goals. I am going to have to regroup mine to try to set myself up for success given some recent challenges with work and family I have not been able to meet most of my goals. Have not yet gotten on the scale today, but plan to soon. My workout buddies (hubby and eldest son) are back, but have been very sick with a respiratory illness and unable to do much. May have to xray hubby tomorrow to check for walking pneumonia as he is just not recovering very well. Hope to get a little later today to re look at my goals....keep up the good work.

Down another half pound this week...I met all my workout goals. I've started a kettle bell workout I found in prevention magazine. I've heard they are super at helping tighten and tone. I love changing it up and trying new things. Or maybe it's that I have a hard time sticking with one thing for very long. LOL!

Hubby has started running outdoors with me again. We logged 2 runs this week and he wants to go again today. I love it when we run together and running burns a buttload of calories.

I met all my goals last week except for the 60-90 minute cardio weekend activity. I lost a half pound. It's hard to not get discouraged when you know you are doing all the right things.

My first 5K was so exciting...I couldn't believe I could run for 3 miles. October will be a good month to do it...not so hot!

I had such a hard time getting up this morning to do my workout, but I did...and now it feels so good to know that I made ME and my HEALTH a priority first thing!

Yay Courtney! We can do this together! emoticon

I just saw that the Milton Riverwalk 5K is about 2 months away (Oct 2), which is how long it takes to do Couch to 5K program, so I'm thinking of making that my big fitness goal! Exciting! :)

Thanks for the reminder on food logging, Carol! I think you motivated me enough to start putting my stuff in for today.

I'm excited to see you guys posting. Setting a goal is just that...a goal. Maybe you reach it, maybe you don't, but you still get points for EVERYTHING you do to reach that goal...even the smallest things count.

I want to re-emphasize the importance of food tracking. That's the thing that helped me to reach 50 pounds lost. You gotta know what's going in...don't try to guess.

This seems like a good place to post my news. I'm re-dedicating myself to Spark! I started in January and by the end of April the only reason I was logged in was for Spark points (weird, I know). Right now I'm around 190 pounds which is the heaviest I've ever been. I used to be the "tall skinny girl." I'm also wearing a size 14 in pants and a large in shirts which is very frustrating. I want and need a change. Here's to walking 30 minutes a day, doing strength training at home 3 times a week, journaling daily and drinking 64 oz of water. Hopefully when I stick to this plan I'll be back down to 150 pounds and want to wear a swimsuit next summer. We can do IT!

Wow, Carol! That is so great that you set out those goals and then just checked 'em off all week! You rock!

I am still working on the nutrition end of my goals, but I worked out a few times last week and drank plenty of water. I'm looking forward to a fantastic August!

I am LOVING this! Writing my goals down this week has helped me to stick to it. I am more apt to do well if I know I have to be accountable. Thanks ladies for joining in.

Okay---if I write it down, I'm more liable to stick with it!

Workout goal: at least 1 hour of belly dancing or 45 minute walk daily.

Calorie goal: 1,300 to 1,500

Water: this is never a problem for me. I drink constantly!

Spark goal: track nutrition and exercise daily.

Hey there! It has been a long time. I'm starting over here...can't count the number of times I've done that. This one will be different!

Workout goals - at least every other day. No excuses. Use the pool.

Calories - track food!!! (haven't done this in forever) Stay under 1550 average for the week.

Water - start measuring to make sure I get 10 servings a day

SparkPeople - write a blog or post on message board every day!

WTG LANUZIE! Making it public raises the ante on commitment! Who is next!

I am so excited that I made it through the weekend without blowing my eating plan. Weekends are so difficult. Hubby was a big help. He agreed to not tempt me by suggesting we eat out.

What perfect timing. I just wrote down some goals this am on my yellow pad. Here they are:

record all food at least 4 days per week. My calorie goal is 1200-1550.

strength training-15 minutes to fitness videos 5 days per week (each targets a different body area)

Tae bo minimum 30 minutes 2 days per week.

Cardio (walking, elliptical, tennis or other) minimum 250 minutes per week (not including taebo).

Hope this will knock me off my current plateau! emoticon

Set your calorie range and track your food.
(Mine? 1200-1550 calories a day)

Drink your water!
(Me? 8-10 cups a day)
