Wow Carol, I haven't been in the 130's since I was in my teens. I just want to get to 145. I am taking the St. Patty's challenge. Best wishes

10 pounds is completely fantastic ARTIST!!!

I only lost 5.2. I thought I would lose more, but it's OK. I'm happy to be solidly in the 130s again and I feel motivated to keep it going.

Lost 10 pounds since January 1st. Not the 12 # goal for this challenge but still an accomplishment, especially since so many people I know have completely dropped the word New Year's goals/resolutions from their vocabulary by now. Thanks for the challenge! emoticon emoticon

The weekends are killing me...I didn't lose any pounds this week, but I did drop 2.75 inches in January, so I'm not complaining!

Hey thanks for the tip. Does the site tell you how much sodium eating out food contains?? That's what gets me. I did lose this week, but only a half pound. My goal today is to not let the weekend spoil this week's progress, even if it was small. That happened last weekend and and it was NOT fun losing that weight again!

How are the rest of you doing???

I too am in on this challenge. I deserve to be healthy, full of energy and excited about my life and the lives of others around me. We must love ourselves as we are right now in order to love who we want to become tomorrow. I am trying to reduce the number of times my family eats out not only for weight loss but $. Taking some of that money and splurging on great condiments and grains from Everman's. By the way a great site for eating out calories is Dottie's Weight Loss Zone.

I was right when I said it would get harder after that quick 5 pound loss! About a pound of that came back (water weight bouncing around, I suspect) and my body has resisted it since then! I am back in the spot where my body is happy - I think it's called a set-point weight or something like that. I need to convince those fat cells that this is NOT a happy place...LOL

Carol, good for you! 1.4 pounds in a week is just right, and you are doing well!

Well, I'm starting a week or so late (well almost 2 really) but I'm willing to give it a shot! I was already planning on working it hard for the first few weeks to really get me in the swing of things anyway, so this will just add to the fun of it :) Thanks for the motivation!

OK guys...I feel like I am on the right track now. Got my first 2 pounds off in the first week of this challenge. I also bought a heart rate monitor that is going to help me reach my calorie burn goals!

How are you all doing???

I do recommend putting it on your page. If you look at my page, you'll see where I've been keeping up with our monthly challenges and how I've done. It helps me to see my progress...or lack of progress.

Pick a day to weigh in (weekly, monthly, whatever you want), then post how you are doing in this thread. My weigh-in day is Saturday.

Well I certainly need to lose it, but my track record lately doesn't look so good... I am going to try, though!

I weighed in at 142.8 this morning and the fishy on my weight ticker had to take a few backstrokes. I don't like it, but it is what it is. All I can do is get my butt moving and get the pounds off. I know what to do. I've done it before.

Thank you, Carol! I accept your challenge ... I would LOVEEEE to lose 12 pounds by Valentine's Day! I am worth it and I do deserve a healthy, fit body!! And ... I am willing to put action to those words.

The holidays weren't too bad for me but I feel like I'm spinning my wheels! My son keeps me busy in the evenings ... he's still on crutches, unable to put weight on his foot and needs assistance. I'm helping him rehab; however, I have neglected my fitness. He's able to do more for himself so I need to step back and refocus my energy!! Time to concentrate on my health and fitness.

Thanks for the kick in the pants! emoticon

Do you know that you deserve to love yourself? Do you realize that you are worth a fit, healthy body?

This challenge is two-fold.

First, it's a challenge for each of us to love and accept ourselves, regardless of past failures and shortcomings. Every time you've tried to lose weight and fell short of your goals, you might see the effort as a total waste of time, a failure. But every "failure" is a learning experience...an opportunity to grow and learn from past mistakes. So the challenge here is to get up every morning, look at yourself in the mirror and say, "I'm worth it and I deserve a healthy, fit body." Then put action to those words. Set goals that are SMART...Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Reasonable and Time-oriented. There is a great blog on Sparker CJROMB's page if you want a better explaination of SMART goals. Go read it. I'll be posting my SMART goals on my page.

Second, it's a lose 12 pounds by Valentine's Day Challenge. That gives us exactly six weeks from this Saturday. Two pounds a week is very doable.

I hope you will join me in this challenge. I'm also going to send this out in a sparkmail to the team to be certain it reaches everyone.

I appreciate those of you who have stuck with the team...and if you've slipped away, this is a good time to come back.
