I try to eat Paleo during the weekdays and then am a bit more relaxed with eating on Friday evening and Saturday.
I tried paleo but had some problems with it, part of which I just could not get enough to eat and my workouts were suffering.
I do better and can follow Tosca Reno's Eat Clean philosphy. While she does not advocate calorie counting or tracking, I do the tracking part. Otherwise, I have a tendency to overeat or distort my portion sizes.

*I'm Paleo, or Meso (mesolithic era) as I like to call it, I add in a few things if their reasoning for not being Paleo is silly and the food is actually good for you like quinoa.
