I'm a little behind on this thread but it's a good one.

I got into CrossFit because my triathlon coach made me. A lot of endurance athletes skip strength and core workouts because of the time involved. Plus they are boring. This leads to injuries down the road.

CrossFit gives lots of bang for my buck. Strength, core, intensity for very little time in the gym. The variety of workouts and the camaraderie at the gym keep me from getting bored.

I would not say CrossFit has made me a faster runner or triathlete but it definitely improves strength and muscle tone.

I totally agree with what has already been said!
1. It is always changing... which I need.
2. The WODs can always be modified.
3. They can be very challenging!
4. You don't need a lot of specialized equipment.
5. You can always find WODs that you can do anywhere!
6. Lots are just body weight!
7. I love full body exercises!
hmmmmmmm... and so many more!
oh! my favorite reason- my husband and I can do it together! emoticon

For myself it was a desire to get healthy after the death of my sister Marti. My brother encouraged my husband to go to Crossfit and the next day dragged me to Crossfit.

I like that the routine is not a routine.
The WOD is different every time I go.
I appreciate that any WOD can be modified to your skill level.

I am glad that this team is here at Spark it keeps me motivated.

When I'm done with a workout, I actually feel like I accomplished something! The mirror certainly shows that it works.
