I'm a little behind on this thread but it's a good one.
I got into CrossFit because my triathlon coach made me. A lot of endurance athletes skip strength and core workouts because of the time involved. Plus they are boring. This leads to injuries down the road.
CrossFit gives lots of bang for my buck. Strength, core, intensity for very little time in the gym. The variety of workouts and the camaraderie at the gym keep me from getting bored.
I would not say CrossFit has made me a faster runner or triathlete but it definitely improves strength and muscle tone.
Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right.
I totally agree with what has already been said! 1. It is always changing... which I need. 2. The WODs can always be modified. 3. They can be very challenging! 4. You don't need a lot of specialized equipment. 5. You can always find WODs that you can do anywhere! 6. Lots are just body weight! 7. I love full body exercises! hmmmmmmm... and so many more! oh! my favorite reason- my husband and I can do it together!
