Not sure about NJ, but here in NY we still have lots of snow on the ground. I live about 15 mins from Bear Mountain & we got 18 inches after Christmas & another 4-6 inches on Friday. Looks like the temps will be right around freezing for the next week, so there may not be much melting between now & then.

I am trying to get a hike together for over MLK weekend. Just a couple of day hikes either in NJ or Central VA, but I think everyone is trying to see what the weather will be like. We are planning to hike Mahoosuc Notch this summer, so I am looking forward to that.
I'm hoping life will slow down a little for me and I can get out and hike this summer some. Let me know when you are hoping to go and if possible I may join you. 4 - 7 days of day hikes works well for me. My AT miles keep getting less each summer with 2 weddings in 2 summers. I really hope to get back to my AT hiking goals.
Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off the goal.

I have hiked almost 600 miles of the At and hiked from DWG to Mohican Outdoor Center a few weeks ago. I hope to get back up that way in January to hike some more. I have a friend who I hike with and we try to get out at least once a month and I live near the trail in Harpers Ferry, WV so we hike around here alot.
