First I want to thank everyone who participated in the challenge. It was very motivating for me to see just how much exercise each of you was able to fin into you days and forced me to find ways to fit it into mine as well. I am proud of each of you for the eforts you have put into this!

Onto the results. The team winner is team 2 with a total of 821 points! Way to go ladies!!
The first and second place winners are as follows:
HSMom2Four with a whopping 392 points for the four week period.

To aid my memory working on this challenge,
I remember this phrase: Every Choice Will Glorify God
to recall the initials of each step: E.C.W.G.G.

Exercise: 30 min = 1 point. Additional 5 min = 1 point
Calories: each day in range = 1 point
Water: 64 oz = 1 point. Additional 8 oz = 1 point
Goal: reaching it = 50 points (YOUR CHOSEN GOAL)
God Time: each day doing this = 1 point

Spring is in the air, the birds are singing, the flowers are starting to bloom and at my house the kids are digging out shorts (unusual highs of 80 this week).

For me spring also brings the ever dreaded swimsuit. No more hiding in sweatpants and baggy tshirts. That spandex contraption comes out of storage to mock me. This year I want it to be different!

Beginning Monday, April 12 a new Christian SAHM challenge will begin. Two teams will battle it out to see who wins bragging rights. Teams will earn points by:

1. Exercising - there is no other way to get your body in swimsuit shape than to exercise. If you don't exercise, you don't shed pounds, you don't tone muscles. 1 point will be earned for the first 30 minutes of exercise each day with an additional point possible for every 5 minutes of extra exercise per day. I will post daily workout videos that are each less than 10 minutes that will help you to slim and tone your body (these will require an exercise band but feel free to modify them by using weights or nothing instead) and the additional 20 minutes of daily exercise are your choice of activities

2) Staying within your calorie range. You can exercise all you want to, but if your input exceeds your output then your body will exceed your swimsuit. Every day that you stay in your calorie range is worth a point.

3) Water consumption. Drinking water not only helps your skin to look better, helps your joints, helps prevent muscle fatigue, but it also helps you to feel full and thus eat less. Earn a point for the first 64 ounces of water you consume a day, and an additional point for every 8 additional ounces you drink a day.

4) Time with God. I know, we are trying to lose weight, but we are told in 1 Corinthians 10:31 that everything we do should be for the glory of God, that includes weight loss. How can we be doing it for His Glory if we don't take the time to get to know Him. There is not set amount of time on this one, no rules to follow. You simply get a point for spending some time each day with God, in any way you feel led to. This could be time spend in study, praying, praising, singing, etc.

5) This is the big one. Set a goal. What do you want to accomplish in these next 4 weeks? Do you want to lose 2 inches from your body? do you want to fit into a smaller size bathing suit? Do you want to lose 8 lbs? Set a realistic goal. When you sign up, tell us what your goal is. At the end of the 4 weeks, let us know if you reached your goal. If you do, you get a 50 point bonus!

Each week I will post team winners and members of that team will receive sparkgoodies. To make it even more interesting, I am offering up prizes to the first and second place individual winners. First place winner will receive the book Beautiful Things Happen When a Woman Trusts God by Sheila Walsh, The second place winner will receive Jesus Lives(a 365 day devotional book) by Sarah Young. Both books are hardcover.

Sign ups for this challenge will end Friday, April 10th at midnight. Anyone is welcome to join the challenge after it has begun as long as they understand they will be placed in a 3rd team and ineligible for the individual prizes. Please, if you sign up be sure you are willing to commit to the entire 4 weeks. Because this is a team challenge you will be hurting your team if you are not committed.
