I LOVE lists! I like to call them "formulas" - like formula for success!

Right now, I'm focusing on getting things done in the evening so I start on the right foot in the morning. Here's my formula:

Put dinner dishes in dishwasher
Pack lunch for work tomorrow.
Lay outfit out for work.
Put appropriate work out outfit/gear next to bed
Stretch
Enjoy cup of sugar free hot chocolate w/.25 cup of almond milk in it
Bathroom stuff (teeth, face, moisturizer)
sleep like a baby......

I lost 4.2 pounds for January, not a lot but I am really happy with it. I started some super habits, tracking food, reading the daily articles about nutrition, trying to exercise daily, doing weights a couple of times a week.... and I got my husband going! Hip hip hooray!

I love this idea!! I am totally into ticking things off. I find I sabotage myself less if I put my food into calorie counter the night before so since I have really sucked at that lately I am going to do that tonight! Thanks!!

Week #1 is finished and I'm heading into the second week now.

I've added something to my PM list (to plan the next day's food). And I'm now tracking my fiber and iron. I removed protein because I'm always ridiculously right on with that.

I'm going to update my blog with a breakdown of the week, and I've started the family challenge. :)

Oh, and I lost a little bit more even with the terrible eating, but it was just .2 so I'm not counting it yet...

Yes, I love marking things off a list. It's so much easier to focus on what I HAVE gotten done then. Otherwise I just think about what I haven't done yet.

When I was working as a Residential Aide there was a woman in the house who posted three lists to her door. One was "What I need to do in the morning", another was "What I need to do before bedtime", and the last one was "What I need to do if I feel bad and can't do the things I need to do".

Since I like lists so much and I definitely needed help getting back into the role of taking care of myself. I liked the phone idea because I wasn't sure where to paste my lists. My bedroom? The bathroom? Above my desk? Well, my phone is always in my pocket. I can check my lists anywhere!

I do like how well it's going now. I am thinking about new goals for next week all ready. I know it will take awhile before this pattern turns into a habit, but I feel ready. Most of it I did all ready have down, I just needed to get that walk back in and start getting dressed...Oh, and changing my flossing to the AM instead of the PM (for convenience). With those going well I'm feeling pretty awesome.

I need to do the same thing most days! I thrive when I have a list to stick to and it feels AWESOME to check something off. Even if it's something as simple as remembering to go for a walk, wash my face, and fix my lunch for the day.
I hadn't thought of putting the list into my phone...

I am doing really good so far on my goals.

I thought it would be hard to get walking again, but I found myself looking forward to it so much that on the third morning (this morning) I woke up BEFORE my alarm, ready to go!

I find myself frustrated over not eating right. Eating too much crap. BUT.....it is better than how I have been eating, AND I have to remind myself that I have no goal (yet) to eat within certain numbers. So....I'm meeting nearly all my goals! I'm all ready feeling better, but I need to work on turning off my light earlier. I get so into the books I read that I fall asleep over them, about an hour later than I should!

Thank you! :)

I really have no excuses any more. Once upon a time I lost the weight. So now I just need to do it again. I all ready know it's possible and that I have it in me to do this. So I just have to do it and then learn how to maintain it.

I really think the key to that (for me) is in caring for and loving myself. I am the Fat Girl. It didn't matter when I was 290 or 145. I was still the Fat Girl even when I had lost the weight. I need to break out of that cage and just become ME. An empowered woman conquering life's challenges. I am so grateful to not have to do this alone.

If you check out my year-end blog (not that I have any great insights or anything) I think you'll find some company - I have been trying to change my focus to "me" rather than to aspects of "me" - it is a great challenge, but so worth it -

I guess what I'm trying to say is that you are not alone-

I know from experience that I'll be very far behind most others, but I also know that many of you out there need to focus on some of the very basics too.

Here's my plan right now...

I put 3 lists into my phone:
AM
dress
walk/workout
coffee
breakfast
facebook/floss
shower/face
dress

PM
straighten house
wash face
teeth
rinse off
brush hair
next days "to do"

and Personal Imp Schedule
Sun - nails
Mon = face mask
tues = journal/blog
Wed = oolala
Thurs = shave
Fri = foot care
sat = condition hair

I am trying to do as much of those I can. I have not yet added in the walk. (Yes, it's tacky, but I'm waiting for the New Year...also I am sick right now.) I jsut figure since I've taken off mass amounts of weight and put it back on before, that I'm missing something vital.

I'm not an idiot. I know what I'm missing. I just don't love myself. So I'm going to teach myself that. First I have to get to know me (that's the hard part, because I can be sort of mean) and I have to learn to take care of myself. So I'm not focusing so much on the food and weight right now as I am on all the other stuff.

I'm getting better at going to bed at a decent time, and I'm able to get up at a good time now too. So this is the next phase. Once I feel I have these down I think I will begin tracking food and exercise.

Right now I need to get through the to do list so I'm organized enough to get my walk back in. If I'm all set to go, then there will be no excuses.
