Week 7 Day 1 - have done stretching and a video. I know I'll be over my calories thanks to a celebratory lunch out; I had a spinach and artichoke quiche with a bowl of tomato basil soup, and NO DESSERT. I'm glad key lime pound cake wasn't available today to tempt me! Having skinless chicken breast and salad greens from the garden for dinner. Calories will be better tomorrow.

Day 7 of week 7. Good week,I think. I have had some cravings and headache. Otherwise I feel calmer without caffeine. Feels good to stick with wiser choices

Day 5 of wk 7. Made a wonderful brunch at noon. Made a pancake and topped with berries and a little bit of lingonberry preserves. Much tastier than syrup.

Awesome! You did great! I'm envious.

Week 7 Day 6 - very busy; didn't get in as much exercise as I'd have liked, but I did the best I could. I've gotten really good at multi-tasking and doing some sort of strength training while doing other tasks! My meals didn't happen on schedule today either, so I've got dinner and a snack's worth of calories to spend at a backyard party tonight.

Good for you sableness. emoticon . Day three of wk 7. Did 2 hrs of yard work and 2 active hrs of patio and house work. Made a wonderful stir fry with fresh vegetables and lean pork. Accomplished a lot at my desk as well. Love days like these...

Week 7 Day 4 - great exercise; awful food

Week 7 Day 5 - totally back on track! Walk, strength training, yoga, and well within calorie range in spite of spending the day at a retreat center with delicious food and many temptations.

Of course, you'll be watching those fruit sugars, too !
They can be high ; there are tables, showing the numbers, for the
various fruits, that you would like to obtain !
Good Luck !

Thank you, PRAIRIECROCUS. For all the encouragement and cheering on you do for others, I hope things are going really well with you. I was dead tired today, didn't do much at all but rest up which is what I most needed. I had a nice thank you call from mother-in-law who was very pleased with her party. Tomorrow I'll get in a really good workout and lots of walking, plus singing in a Bach festival that will take a lot of energy. Always something though--I'll have to be careful about the reception following the performance.

I too find the daily check-in really helpful in keeping track of progress. Today was mostly taken up with hosting a big family dinner for nonogenarian mother-in-law's birthday. I knew the food people brought would not be low cal in the least with the exception of the rutabaga I made because it's one of her favorites. My cranberry pork roast was reasonable too. I simply ate small portions, no seconds, and counted in my snack. I was over my calories by a bit, but not badly. :-) Also managed to send home with others the most calorie-laden of the leftovers so I won't be tempted! Got plenty of exercise with set up and clean up. Putting away some of the china involves being down on the floor, reaching high and infrequently used cupboards, putting furniture back as it was, etc. I am tired and will go to bed early!

Welcoming myself to Week 7 Day 1. Hope this has been a really good day for everyone else! emoticon

SEXYMOMMA1947 - This is the Check-in tread, for Week 7 of the 8-Week Diabetes
Weight Loss Challenge. At this point, we're almost finished, with the 8-Week Challenge !
This is like when you report in, for duty. It lets everyone know that you are actively
trying to fulfill all the obligations of the Challenge ! I would report in, by stating my
name, and then, making some pertinent comments about the Week's Action Plan.
Are you following the Workout Video ? Instead, are you hoping to substitute something
else ? I would discuss how you are managing with all the activities, stated in that Week's
Action Plan. That would give everyone an idea of how you are doing, in the Challenge.
All the best !

Hi, this is really my first post. I started this team 7 weeks ago. I have been doing good...at first it was hard to exercise and walk but everyday seemed to be easier. I stopped for a few days and today started back up. And I have to say it felt GOOD. I don't post very much but since I weighted today and lost...I felt so rejuvenated and wanted to shout it from the mountains tops. Thanks SP your program is awesome!! emoticon

It is always a good idea to listen to your body, and give it the rest and care it needs. You will be back into your usual routine much quicker. I hope you feel better soon. emoticon emoticon

week 7. day 1. 186. Not very impressive, but I am still exercising and drinking copious amounts of water and writing down what I eat. I already did my strength exercises this morning, so that should set me up for a good week. I haven't felt well for the last three days, so I didn't get in my exercise on those days, but I still drank water and will make up for the lost days this week.

Hi y'all. It's been a hard week for me physically, but I've still tried to be true. Yesterday, my fbs was 202 (week 7, day 2). I haven't tracked as well as I should this week, but I am cooking at home at least 3 days a week, all as healthy as I can get. I'm also exercising and drinking water water water.

Week 7, Day 3. My fbs is 220. I don't know what's going on. This is how high it was when I first went on metformin, and now it's becoming normal. I can always tell when it's high. I feel shaky. At least I didn't wake up with a splitting headache.

Thank you so much, HungryWoman2, for your kind words. I know I'm not alone, and I am so grateful to all of my SP friends for their support. I won't stay on long today because I'm getting ready to exercise before I go to work. I really don't want to be here (in 200+ FBS land), and I will continue to do my best to make a change.

Week 7. Day 4. fbs 196. Still really high, but I'm happy it's under 200. Just getting ready for some Leslie Sansome.

Week 7. Day 5. 215. Completely confused.

Week 7. Day 6. 196.

Week 7. Day 7. 191. I carry on.

Week 7 Day 7
I did not think I would complete the challenge. However, As I looked at the aerobic exercises I noted heavy housework in addition to lifting and carrying boxes. This is what I did as long as I could. I was amazed at how the time and calories added. I began my day with a strength training as I often do. My food has been tracked, I have been drinking plenty of water, and I ate plenty of fruits and vegetables.
I need to work on balance. I don't feel hunger, and the result is too few calories. Tomorrow, I will work on a plan to fix this.
I have now finished my week. My goal is to continue tomorrow. emoticon

Week 7 Day 6
I missed my tracking yesterday with so many things going on. I did complete my cardio and strength exercises, tracked my food, and drank plenty of water. I was a little short on my fruits and vegetables. I will work on this today.
I may not be able to get as much done today, but will continue to work on as much as possible.
I have many things to do today, which is added to by cleaning up after my sick cat. I "slept" in a chair last night, as he had gotten onto my bed and it is not very clean. I will be doing a great deal of laundry with many trips to the basement so I suppose that is some type of activity.
Best wishes to all.

Teresa

Week 7 Day 5
I completed cardio and strength exercises. My food has been tracked. I ate plenty of fruits and vegetables today, and am finishing up on my water.
I tried the stability ball exercise, and it is still a bit much for me. I work in increments of activity, but it is frustrating not being able to endure what was routine in the past. Ironically, I had a friend note that I seemed quite active, I am much more so, but sometimes it seems that is all I do. As I watch my heart rate monitor, I can see how much more work it is currently taking.
My nutrition was fairly well in range.
My goal for tomorrow is to continue to do what I can, and not get too discouraged.

Teresa
