Starting week 7 on a low note. I didn't lose, had a low BS episode and overcompensated last night, and had a 198 FBS this morning. This was the only negative point on the journey. I'm glad to get to this point making the progress I've made. I will go back to the beginning and start over after week 8 because I need to redo the exercise requirements.

LHOUSE...Congratulations on the weight loss!!! emoticon

I had a migraine yesterday but did walk and did my strength training when it calmed down. Other than that it was a so-so day. Today is babysitting day here for my 4 and 1 year old gdaughters so we will have a little more excitement to be sure:)

I'm stil in it Lost another pound last week for a total of 9 during the challenge. I'm getting lax taking my blood sugar readings and recording. Will step that up this week. It looks like our pool may warm up to 80 soon and I'm looking forward to burning calories by swimming.

Today is day one of week 7 for me. I am in a very good place at the moment. I got on the scale today and I have lost 5.8 pounds since my first weigh-in with Weight Watchers last week where I was up 1.8 pounds and discouraged. I'm so glad I didn't quit. I did some changing around in the way I was eating throughout the day and continued my exercise with my friend who got me started with Weight Watchers. She has been an absolute life saver and a God send. She comes on her days off to walk with me and stops by on her way home from work to walk with me. Even though she can do laps around me, she still walks at my pace and takes a break when I need one without ever saying a word, except to encourage me. She wants to see me succeed as much as I do. I have a challenge this week with a liquid diet tomorrow in preparation for a colonoscopy on Tuesday. I'm a little bit nervous, but I'm sure everything will turn out fine. I love my doctor and I know he wouldn't steer me wrong.
The worst part is going to be the laxative prep to clean out my system. Oh well, more points off on the scale! LOL Bad way to lose weight. I also need to start gearing up for the eating challenge I will face when my boyfriend comes home from Ghana in a couple of weeks and comes to see me(He lives in New York and I live in Oregon). I need to research restaurants ahead so I know where we can go and I can get a healthy meal and not screw up my eating plan. This will be our first meeting face to face so I'm sure nerves will take over and I will have trouble eating anyway. Does anyone have any ideas for healthy eating restaurants?

It is the last day of week 7. I'm excited to be going into the last week of this wonderful Challenge. On the other hand after week 8 there is no clear direction for those who choose to stay with the team. Should be start again with week 1 and build up again? Should we just do what ever comes our way? IS there any way to set up a section for Finished Challengers to hang and possibly set up our own weekly challenges with the same formate?
I as because this challenge has truly helped me get a better handle on my diabetes. Making me accountilbe to myself and no one else. Once Coach Tanya gets back from vacation I think I will address this with her. I think it is good for those that have finished the challenge to go back into the early weeks and encourage those that are just starting this challenge. I have done 30 mins. of raking the yard. Walled around the mall for 1.5 miles. I wanted to do real walking vs. Leslie's walking. Just to change my fitness routine. Got myself a stability ball on loan to see if I can do those exercises on the video and will discover that in week 8. Wishing all the very best during their week 7!

Hi WezzyCheese we have a few days together each week and I so enjoy hearing how you are doing. This challenge has been so much fun & work. I have really been blessed with so many wonder people to be traveling this challenge with. I'm so happy to hear that you are doing well with you part of the challenge. Just think you are coming down the home stretch now!
I myself am doing well. Still waiting for the med change to take effect so that I can see the BS coming down again. Right now I'm down and then when I do the fitness portion I take my BS about 30 mins after I finish and I have a rise in my BS which just really doesn't make much sense to me right now. Doing more research on it for further knowledge for my self.

hi everyone, not doing so bad this week, stayed the same, but bp and bs has been good,
my daughter let my granddaughter take a mental health day the other day and we all went shopping. what fun (not for me, i hate shopping) but lots of walking and fun being with steph and ali.
had to go pick steph up from work, back she had snack for our women's group tonite, made her get healthy stuff veggies and fruit trays so we both should be good there tonight, usually they bring cookies or other sweets and or chips. i am really trying to stay on the right food track today
tomorrow i have to go training, will be filling in at fitness island (exercise place like curves). bout a month ago i went for the job interview but didnt get the job. well tuesday the owner sent word through a friend to call her and i did and she wants me to fill in for her when she or others go on vactions. thats good for me. so i cover for allison the llast week in april actually 4 days and i get to go and use the gym free for a month so not bad for 5 days of work and i can use the equipments while i'm at work too. but who knows it could turn out to be more.
well got go take charlie for his walk and then get ready for mmy meeting tonight, want to walk enough so that hopefully i can sleep tonight without waking up a dozen times. have no idea what is going on but lately i'm not sleeping all night and if by chance if i do then i'm awake at some ungodly hour.
well charlie is bugging me so everyone have a good week.

I am draggin' today ! It maybe because of the rain outside and the very dreary looking sky.
will be doing my ST today and cardio will be a mix of 2 mile areobic interval walk with Leslie, and heavy cleaning. Right now I'm not sure how much of that cleaning I will be myself into due to the rain and pups running in and out ! Have started my extra meds today and will be watching to see if that helps bring my BS down. This morning FBS=265

A new day and it is up and at it again! I did the 2 mile intervals with Leslie. I just love the safety of walking in the house. Most of the sidewalks around my place are cracked and broken, leading to an unsafe walk unless you are marking every step. Not doing the areobic video today because I'm going out and rake up a large section of the back yard and that will be enough of a work out. There are so many tree limbs of all sizes and shapes that I'm going to have to pick up, some will have to be sawed down to a size that I can handle, so that the city can pick them up on Wed. Tracking my food and fitness and enjoying my challenge. I am going to make this a very positive day, for yesterday turned on me and I don't want to repeat it!

Ahhh, shucks, it ain't nothing! Sitting here red in the face! Hard work, follow directions, track the food, track the fitness and make sure that you are doing cardio 1st and ST after!
Thanks, I have completed todays alternative ST & resistance bands video! Did an aerobic exercise video and an areobic walk with intervals with Leslie today! Now off to get breakfast!

Here it is week 7! I still don't own a stability ball so I will be looking into what the alternative ST will be. I have cut my carbs back trying to keep them as close to 15 carbs/meal & snack. The blood sugars are still to high no matter what I eat or what kind of cardio and ST I do. I know that this is what the doctor and I feared may happen once the actos was totally out of the body. And I'm sure that the stress of last weeks emergency with little Leah didn''t help. Now she is home from the hospital and hasn't had any more seizures since she came home. This week hopefully won't be so full of stress and worry. So here we go. Start the week out right today I did 30 mins of areobic exercise, I walked 2 miles of and areobic interval walk with Leslie. oh wait I even did another 60mins of raking in the back yard. Tomorrow we are getting rain. So I will walk in the house again and do the new ST!
So far I have lost 19 #'s, and 25 inches! emoticon emoticon

Week 7- Day 1 just beginning the day, with 2 hours of exercise in, some wall pushups, marching in place and walking around the apartment, a few squats and some arm curls. Going to take meds and shots and have breakfast next!

Today started off upsetting, it seems the refuse I have found here to vent about my stress has been invaded and used to cause more stress, my brother printed off one of my blogs and took to my parents to read, so I went over for morning coffee being told how I do too much for them and they are worried about me.
I was furious! I told them they do not stress me out,
but my siblings are doing a really GOOD job.

Makes me think about packing up and leaving, but then I would also be leaving my parents without anyone here all the time.
Then Daymon and I went to get our eyes checked and then pick-up a few things at the store.
I bought one of those large pre-made supreme pizzas that you pop in the oven.
Wasn't really good for my diet, but was something quick and easy.

Well, after an excruciating morning and early afternoon, I saw my Ortho doc today after xray and chat w/ the doc, and of course him manipulating my knee, sending me into severe pain. He informed me, it's either a total knee replacement, or nothing, if I am still refusing to have the surgery don't come back...no brace, no nothing.... emoticon
So it's living w/ the pain, taking morphine all the time, or smoking pot to relieve the pain.
And the doc wasn't very supportive of the pot, but when I ask him which is worse for me the morphine or a little weed each day? He stuttered a bit and said nothing.
So now I have to re-evaluate my work-out program. I do want to keep losing the weight and firming up, but just walking 10-15 ft brings me to tears unless I am somehow medicated for the pain.
Other than that a GREAT day.... emoticon

Good Morning Everyone.... emoticon
I hope this frosty morning finds everyone doing well.
I have been up since 4:45am, first the pain in my knee woke me, then I heard some pounding and woke Daymon after our large dog began to growl at the sounds. emoticon
After investigating he realized it was large wet snow clumps falling from the sky hitting our metal roof. emoticon
I was afraid my dad had fell next door and it was his cane beating on the wall to get our attention, thankfully not the case...
Another good note we have a new member of the family, my sister had a baby girl yesterday. emoticon
My knee is getting more painful everyday and harder to walk on even w/ my cane.
Just sitting is hard to find a position that is comfortable. emoticon
I see the Ortho Doc tomorrow and by the time I drive there, OOOOOOHHHHHHHHH am I gonna be in pain!
So I haven't been doing much as far as exercising, I am going to try and do some today....hopefully I will find something that I can do without increasing the pain from my knee.

to be honest I think I have lost track of what week I am on - but I am pretty sure I am just starting on week 7 - we will stick with that....lol

really watching my intake and increasing my out put aka exercise....now that spring is on the horizon ( we got snow this morning...arg!!) I know I will want to get outside more even just to rake up a section of the back yard...or clean up the front flower bed...( tulips are showing....yay!)

This morning is weigh-in day
So here it is, 256.8, which means I lost 5lbs this month, making a total of 24.2lbs since Jan. 1st of this year and a grand total so far of 141.2lbs since June '06. emoticon
I have also dropped 12 dress sizes. emoticon
My knee has been waking me up lately so my sleep has not been well, but I hobble on.
Going to get coffee, Bright Blessings and Hugs to ALL....Tammy emoticon

Stress Buster Challenge
Good Morning Everyone, emoticon
I didn't check in yesterday, it's been very stressful lately, w/ my dad and his health and my knee not getting any better, seeming to get worse everyday, but today I will do some upper body exercises.
I was so stressed out this morning I just broke down and cried. emoticon
My brothers are having to take up the slack on driving my dad and mom to their doctor appts. and I realize they have small children at home to work around, but I am NOT able to drive at his time, now on friday I will have to drive myself and my mom to the doctor's on friday, so I can hopefully get a brace for my knee.
The stress is getting to be enormous, and I am just shaking at times.
Which makes my parents worry about me, which makes me feel even more guilty, I mean really w/ my dad's health issues I am the LAST thing they need to be worrying about.
I am making myself eat, I had a yogurt w/ my coffee this morning.
It's something right? emoticon
I did get some good news this morning, my old friend Jimmy, who is driving a c/c truck route now is up near me and even if I have to take a pain pill I will drive to meet up w/ him it will brighten my spirits to see him and to have my b/f, Daymon meet him.
Well, enough for now.

Evening Everyone... emoticon
Today has been calm and so far I haven't had to take a morphine, not saying I am not in pain, but at least I can deal w/ it. I am still using my cane to get around.
Today, my brother (Frank) and b/f (Daymon) helped moved my parents living room and dinning room furniture around so my dad can get around the house in his power wheel chair.
All in all a pretty good day. I hope everyone had a great day.

end of week 7 for me.. I had to do more cardio and ST to finally get the scale to move.. but I lost 2 pounds this week !! finally,, I had been stuck all month.. so happy the scales moved.. but I feel so good I was not going to stop ... good luck to all...on to week 8

Just finished week 7---that stability ball workout sure got me tired when I finished---but a good tired, rejuvinated . I call it ready for the rest of my day,onto week eight tomorrow. I receive an E-mail today saying I am this weeks winner in this challenge, oh my gosh I was sooooo excited. It is only the second time in my life I have won a prize.

emoticon I'm starting at week 4 over again. I got a new job and got sick a minute and fell off the work out wagon but the dogs and I did about a 50 minute walk today and Saturday and I cleaned and organized my spring/summer closset yesturday for hours! Woo hoo! I'm feeling fine!
