yesterday was a bust - had the "dawn phenomenon" .. could not sleep - hot - up for an hour or so at 4am...

I'm here. FBS outrageous today! Had roadtrip yesterday & ate simple carbs...another no-no. But had a good time & got lots of exercise walking around HUGE hobby/craft store!!

WEEK 6 DAY 4
I have really upped my exercise minutes and intensity this week so I am hopeful I will finally bust the plateau.
Weigh in day is Monday.
However, my FBS is good (124) and my blood pressure is 137/84 and resting heart rate at 60.

I am eating more veggies and fruit, but limited weight lose! I have increased my cardio to 90 minutes a day with a varieation of walking, swimming and running. I might be increasing my muscle mass! I am pleased the way my body is taking shape!

for the water - i've gone over to pink grapefruit flavoured Perrier
- but to drink two quarts of it a day? I'm not sure.

Guess i'll try. But will be running to the b.r. much more often.

Perrier is also an excellent detox for me from the caffeine poisonings i've given myself.

for the walking 20 minutes can do it every day

can do dumbbells exercise routing three times a week - no problem

tracking food and fitness every day - no problem

I'm pretty sure my insulin resistance will really only lessen if my weight Normalizes at the normal range BMI - between 20 and 24.

Week 6, Day 3...I've worked up to 3500 calories burned per week in an effort to start losing 1 pound per week. Just pushing the fitness goal UP while I work on maintain 1000 calories of nutrition per day...fingers crossed! Happy Sunday!

I've tried a few of the recipes - my family loves the Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken. I'm actually enjoying planning meals now.

When I look at Week 6 tasks, I'm still having a challenge with 20 min cardio - will try to break into 2 sessions of 10 min each. Also, drinking 8 cups of water while working means peeing every hour. I do see the benefits for my skin so will persevere.

It's been hot here too but never the risk of fire as you are facing T. Great day everyone!

emoticon Hi Sandra ~ Sorry to hear you're feeling blah today but glad to hear you may have tracked down why, possibly corn.

The fire in our area is 130 acres and 40% contained.

Tried to walk an hour. Did 45 minutes (without stopping). I thought if I can walk 2 hours on golf course, I should be able to walk 1 hour in the gym. Foot pain stopped me. On the golf course, it's walk/stop/walk/stop. I have been walking 20 minutes so I'm happy if I could walk 45 minutes a day for the next week. Plus exhausting thighs in the hot tub (cool tub - more pool like ahhhh).

Feeling blah today. I think I may have a corn allergy - I tried some corn again and up during the night with gastric distress. That may explain why I wasn't in the mood for fitness yesterday. I will have to eliminate completely although I love corn.

BS 7.9 - a little above normal
My goal this week is 4 sessions of 20 min cardio
I had a mani-pedi yesterday - it was nice to be pampered.

When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

Week 6 Day 2

BS 5.5 ( normal 4-7 for Canadians)
Didn't check in yesterday - had overnight guests and routine a little off.
Went way over my calories yesterday - even though I planned on a "cheat day" once weekly, I have rarely gone over my calories in the last 56 days since starting SP.

I did a big brunch with homemade scones and cream. I planned on reducing my calories for the rest of the day.

After our guests left, my husband and I went dishwasher shopping and got a flat tire on the highway. Waiting for the CAA to come and repair and then off to the store made it too late to go home and make dinner as planned and he suggested sushi.

I can't resist tempura shrimp and vegetables and with the sushi, that put me 1000 cal over my limit.

I'm ready to go back to my plan eagerly today. We're celebrating my daughter's birthday at home today and I'm taking her out for fine dining tomorrow. This is Summerliscious time in Toronto where restaurants provide prix fixe menus to entice customers. This will be my third time out in 2 weeks.

Knees hurting a lot today - could it be the gluten? I have done more walking in past few days.

Thanks T for the email. It's nice to know you have my back if I falter.

Week 6 Day 1
Yesterday, I pushed my walking from 20 min to 30 min, later worked my thighs as much as possible in the hot tub, tonight my husband asks me if I would like to walk along while he played golf (previously I shared my goal of being able to do this). He said tonight there will be few or no golfers on the course. I said, yes, I'd like to try. I ate protein & carbs.

Turns out there is a tournament on the front 9 so he played the back nine. Being a coach all his life - he was completely supportive. As it got hard with 3 holes to go - he shared the back 9 is a lot longer than the front 9 and that he's proud of me. I did some bench sitting as he T'ed off and I did make it to the end. I give myself a 70% - it was difficult and I'm so very thrilled to know where I'm at.

I'm happy to get over 3,000 steps a day and strive for 5,000 steps daily. Today 13,645 steps 6 floors 5.6 miles 3,641 calories. 3 minutes later we're home and I "made" myself get in the hot tub, cranked up the heat from 97 to 102, all jets on! It was really hard to get out - my feet didn't want me to stand on them. We'll see what the morning brings.

This morning my right heel is in pain, probably planters fasciitis. It hurts everyday but worse this morning. Today no walking for exercise - I'll do the resistance bands sitting, hot tub exercising and wt lifting sitting or on bench.

Week 6 Day 5
This will be my final day in week 6. I have done a great job (not to brag, I'm just proud!!) of staying on plan & following all of this week's recommendations.

Strength training emoticon 2 times with weights, plus 1 yoga & 1 pilates

20 min cardio emoticon 5 days - some even more than 20 mins

Track all food emoticon have stayed at low end of range most of week. I tried a "total weekly calorie plan". I gave myself 9500 calories for the week. After tonight, I will have about 1100 for tomorrow. I am hoping I can do that!!

10 cups water emoticon This one has been an easy one for me, which is one reason I decided to skip ahead!!

Now to join Trailblazer on week 7!!

I've been doing very good staying at the lowest end of my calorie range this week. It is showing on the scale too!! May need a higher calorie day so my body doesn't think its starving!!
