Anger - and stress and anxiety and probably just about everything else, lol - increases adrenalin, which in turn means you burn whatever fuel is at hand more quickly. The easiest fuel for the body to grab is whatever is in the system (!) at the moment; what's stored is secondary. No wonder you ate without awareness then still felt hungry.
For what it's worth, I feel as tho I'm hungry ALL the TIME, lol!
