Day 2 Week 5

Second day in a row that I actually followed the suggested food plan.

I finally got all the correct groceries in the house! Can't buy everything at once!

I just packed my breakfast and lunch stuff so I can eat it through the day. the bag is not pretty. I just threw in jars and whole celery and a box of raisins, etc. It is the best I can do. Tonight I will have more time. (No PT and water aerobics after work like Mondays and Thursdays).

When I planned ahead packing lunches at night , I totally forgot my busy schedule 2 nights a week. I will have to work around that. I'll have to remind him he can use his life alert button to get help.

Chris

Also, I came home dead tired last night at 8:00 pm andd DH had a towel wrapped around his wheelchair wheel. He had been stuck in one place for an hour. emoticon

Good Advice--I was still undecided whether to repeat week 4 or go ahead with 5. That post made up my mind to stay the course.

IMAGINGPRO; Oh please don't get down! Walking is so very good for you. We all want to be able to jump back into the fitness once we get used to doing it. I'm having to step it down because I'm burning to much fat and I'm fighting ketoacidosis. I'm in control, but if I do more than a 15 min set of time, my blood sugars start rising! So I have a small idea of what you are going through. You do as you can and take care. I'm glad to see you express that frustration ! It is so good to get it out in the open. You have a great afternoon and keep those little feeties moving! Kay & The Pups emoticon

Hello All,

Happy Easter to you all.

I haven't been on for 2 days because I wasn't feeling all that good. It wasn't any one thing. I still haven't been sleeping well and I guess I am just down because I can't do anything except walk for now.

I hope that everyone is having a great day.

Best wishes to all!

Hello All,

Thank you Kayweb for all the support. I am tracking my food on a daily basis. Somedays I am doing good and other days I don't do so well. I have only gone over a few days. I still have 5 weeks to go before I can start doing regular exercises. I will check with my doctor when I am ready to start them. I am so anxious to get back into my routine. For now I will continue to post all the walking that I am doing on a daily basis. I know it isn't a lot but hopefully will count for something.

Hope everyone enjoys their day.

Best wishes to all!

IMAGINGPRO: Glad that you are taking the fitness slowly after your back surgery ! So how are you doing with the tracker for healthy eating? You are and inspiration to the rest of us as we are doing what we can some with limitations, others not! Stick with the challenge and once your back is ready to go you will have seen what the fitness challenges here had to offer. Talk it over with your doctor and see which one they feel you can tackle and start the challenege over with some of the rest of us. Kay & The Pups emoticon

Hello All,

I just had back surgery and can not do a lot of exercises now, while I am healing. I can however do so walking. I will try to do as much as I can for now. It will be a slow build up as I am not suppose to do anything for at least 6 to 10 weeks. I don't go out that much but am planning to start taking walks daily. I will post how much I have done.

Hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather finally.

Best wishes to all!

What a challenge this will be. Having severe vertego from a head injury I can not lie flat on the floor to complete mat exercises so I attempt to modify the ones I can. I usually end up subbing chair exercises instead. Arobics are out of the question as my retinas are detatching and can not take the jolts. Oh well..I shall do what I can and we shall see what happens.

VONACHEA: This is the week that you will put your week 5 behind you! You are going to get this done this time emoticon YOU CAN DO IT !!! emoticon Go Girl, kick some Butt !
Here it is week 5, that dumbbell routine drives me crazy. But I'm determind to work it to the best of my ability and get down on that floor like the best of us! I was so looking forward to working the dumbbells, but not the MAT ! I was wondering if it would work if I laid down on the bed instead! I may just try that tomorrow! TeeHee! Tracking the food and fitness everyday does show you alot at the end of the day as you she what you have eaten. Sometimes I'm right on and other times I need to add or subtract. Wishing you all a successful day- one day at a time! Kay & the Pups emoticon

This is the end of week 4 and I have had a 9# weight loss in the 4 weeks and 12" loss and my blood sugars are lower! I'd have to say that in the last month I have done more for myself than I have in the last 6 months. My doctor doesn't do blod work except quarterly and so I won't have another A1C done until May. I'm wonderfing between the weight loss and the inches gone if he will notice that the A1C is down also. This has been a fantastic journey for me and I hope that everyone will be as successful. Today I start week 5 and moving forward will be as exciting as the last 4 weeks. Thanks every one!

got a little off-track at the end of week 4, but the best thing is I didn't say "oh, what the heck..I'm never going to be able to do this"--instead I'm jumping back on the horse and moving, recording food and thinking of myself on a journey rather than a diet!

Tried the 20 minute dumbell routine. The standing part is ok, but I can't get down on the floor, so had to try and do the last half either sitting in a chair or standing and making accommodations. It may not be perfect but I worked up quite a sweat and I can feel those muscles! emoticon

Starting Week 5 ready or not. Still haven't lost any weight since I began this team. Except for this morning, BS have been great. Even with the AM aberrant # my 2 week average is 93! Anxious to learn about dumbbells. I walk an indoor 26 min mile 3 times a week as well.

Taxes are finished, getting over the flu, more sunlight every morning! all these things are steps completed so I can spend more time exercising and out of doors! I spent over an hour yesterday removing snow and ice from our very long driveway! Currently it is 8 below zero so I am glad I worked on the driveway yesterday!

KATHYSOASIS I'm sure it will happen in time. Sometimes the weight isn't the first thing to go. I've lost 3 lbs. which is amazing because my scales haven't moved in a very long time. But I do feel stronger and have noticed like you my clothes are fitting a bit better.
It doesn't happen the same for all of us

Muscle weights MORE than fat yet it is much smaller in size. That's why the advice to measure inches as well as weight. You may well be getting rid of the fat and replacing it with muscle!

KathyO: I hope you don't feel too bad about the scale not changing. Like you, I'm not losing much weight-wise on this challenge, but my fitness has really increased and my blood-glucose numbers have improved. Sometimes it's not about the weight, lol... If your clothes are a bit looser, and you're feeling better, maybe that's a benefit in itself. emoticon

I have not lost any weight yet. I have been very serious these four weeks with my fitness and I can see and feel muscles where there was flab before. My belly seems to be getting smaller judging by the way my clothes fit, but I am not losing weight. I guess it will come eventually.
