HI MARY, REMEMBER THAT THIS IS A JOURNEY THAT YOU ARE ON TO MAKE YOUR LIFE HEALTHIER AND HAPPIER. WE ALL MESS UP FROM TIME TO TIME BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU DID PRETTY WELL. YOU MET SOME OF YOUR GOALS WHICH IS VERY GOOD. I TREATED MYSELF LAST WEEK AND BOUGHT THE SPARKPEOPLE COOKBOOK. I'VE TRIED SEVERAL OF THE RECIPES BUT MY FAVORITE IS THE SALSA CHICKEN DONE IN THE CROCKPOT. THIS WHOLE SITE IS GREAT, I TRY AND WATCH THE COOKING VIDEOS AND CHECK OUT THE INSPIRATIONAL STORIES. YOU'RE OFF TOO A GREAT START.... JUST TRY AND STICK WITH IT AND DON'T GET DISCOURAGED.
I didn't do as well as I had hoped to this week. There were three areas to work on:
1. Follow my workout plan. My modified goals were to get to the physical therapy aftercare twice, try one of the sparkpeople seated videos, and do one core workout. I don't have a good way to get in cardio because of chronic health conditions but these would add up to 2 hours plus of time and would get me to try something new.
Result: one aftercare workout
2. Track my food at least three days this week. Account for every bite.
DONE! Actually I got three-fourths of my food on five days this week.
3. Cook two times at home when I wouldn't normally.
Result: I cooked one new recipe, the Chicken and Broccoli Casserole from the sparkpeople site. I added three cups cooked brown rice and changed the mayonnaise to sour cream. Delicious!
It's certainly an improvement over many weeks, but I want to do better.
