PLEASINGME - Keep tracking every bite that goes into your mouth whether good or bad choices daily. The Nutrition Tracker which is on your My Trackers tab is a great tool. It will give you great feedback as to whether or not you need to increase or decrease your calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. Also, the Fitness Tracker located on the same tab will help to keep you accountable to yourself.
I've seen many people, myself included, get their blood sugars under control and bypass those meds. I, myself, was able to get off my blood sugar meds completely and bring my cholesterol and triglycerides back to within the normal limits. I know it can be done!!
You have a great motivator with your father not keeping his blood sugars under control and probably have seen the results of that as well.

My goals are simply to learn to eat better, incorporate exercise after I heal, and avoid diabetes.
I've been told that I will have diabetes within the year if I don't change. Both of my parents and my older brother are all diabetic. My father is uncontrolled and has multiple heath issues because of it. I don't want to end up like him.
