Welcome - yes, 18 pounds may be a bit ambitious for 8 weeks - the recommended weight loss goals are to lose .5 - 2 pounds a week and the 2 pounds a week are only recommended if you have a BMI over 30. That doesn't mean that you should be discouraged - losing some weight over this 8 weeks will help you toward your other goals as well. Start small and work consistently and you will soon lose those 18 pounds.
