I am doing well despite the challenge of not having a car this week and thus not having my precious POOL exercises.

With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.

How is everyone's week going so far? Met the challenge that eating out can present, and won this round! Denny' has a really nice apple cranberry pecan grilled chicken salad with basaltic vinegar dressing. Less than 550 calories for entire meal. Yay!

Have you checked out the free workout videos located under the orange tab at the top of the page titled "Articles & Videos"? There is a workout for every fitness level, even chair exercises. You will find that the exercising will get easier as you go along and you will start to have more energy and to feel better. It is always hard to get started, just keep doing what you can each day. I wish you much success!! emoticon

Hi! Stopping by to see how everyone is doing. Sounds like you are making changes in what you are eating, and trying to get some walking in. Have you looked at the fitness and food trackers yet? I have found them incredibly helpful in monitoring what goes in my mouth, and to chart the miles I walk, number of steps daily, etc. Get yourself a good pedometer so you can see how those steps and miles add up. Will really help your efforts to lose weight and fight the diabetes. We are rooting for you!

I have made wiser choices due to high cholestrol too. I have switched from cream in my coffee to milk. I no longer drink regular milk but have opted for lower calorie silk almond for my cereal. I switched from butter back to crappy ol' margerine on the advice of the doctor (less fat) switched everything else over to low fat versions (such as cheese, sour cream, etc when I have to eat those in recipes) and I eat more veggies and fruits instead of starcy potatoes or deep fried foods. I know it doesn't happen over night though.

Welcome.

Your 10 pounds in 8 weeks is probably doable. Walking is a good exercise and one that can help you reach your goals. Since eating is about 80% about the food you eat and only 20% about the exercise, what are your plans regarding food? Make healthier choices and you will see progress.

With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.

ctive. Doc says walking is the best thing you can do for it. I can barely get out of bed and to work some days and he wants me to walk! I am getting a bit better with time and a prescription for the swelling . I did a 5 km walk for cops for cancer on the weekend and enjoyed it. I felt it a bit in the back by the time I was done but I sat down, had some lunch and listened to some music and I was good to go after that. Have no room in m y house for a treadmill, can't afford a gym membership at the moment and am relying on the days that mothernature is kind to us and gives us a day without freezing cold winds, or pouring rain to get a walk in. GEtting very frustrated.
