Congrats for what you accomplished. Now for that trip to the grocery store trip, glad you are taking a list. That will help. Don't go when you are hungry. I try to skip the candy aisle. Most of the time I can do that now.......good luck

You are catching on quickly - look at what you DID accomplish rather than what you didn't - slow and steady baby steps make a difference. Keep working on it and you will see the results you hope for before you know it.javascript:void(0)

Well - my day one is ending with me being well over in my food intake. But that's okay. I did manage to complete my exercise and I even drank my water. For me, just completing even one task is a challenge. I start a whole lot more than I ever complete so I'm really, dare I say, proud of myself for completing today. Yeah me! I printed my grocery list and I'm headed to the store, first thing in the morning!

-/I'm on my way to a better me

You may need to break this goal down into smaller parts. If you are used to going to bed at midnight you may need to try going to bed a half hour earlier for a couple of weeks, then try for another 30 minutes earlier for the next 2 weeks, etc. If you still have the late night munches, how about pre packaging some healthy options to keep on hand. Or grab some fruit, a serving of popcorn. I really try not to eat anything after getting up from dinner. If good intentions fail, I microwave popcorn and snack on that. Good luck.

Hello All,

So this is Day 1 for me and my goal for this week is to stop staying up late because I become hungry and eat. That is my number 1 goal.

You are making your first step in the right direction. When you get into all the possible substitutions you may find some new favorites

Welcome. You can get a lot of good ideas about carbs by clicking on the 'articles' tab at the top of the page. Being diabetic and loving sweet crunchy snacks I really needed help learning to substitute different things when the munches hit. Change occurred gradually overall, but gotta tell you that I feel soooo much better now that the blood sugar levels are under better control. The other thing that really helped the most has been faithfully using the food tracker. It hits me every time I log in what I eat, the value of what I put into my body. And, know something? You and the rest of us are worth the battle. We need to truly believe that. Share the journey!

Today I will learn some substitutions for using vegetables in place of carb rich processed foods. I love my carbs so this will be challenging enough for day one.

If you run a red light, do you continue to break all the traffic laws that day? Why would blowing your 'diet' be any different? So you made one mistake, get over it and continue doing the right thing for the rest of the day.
