Thanks for the warm welcome! BM: I just started with SP and decided to set manageable goals to start for the first 8 weeks. I'll change them after. Other than working full-time (12.5 hr days), I am completing a master's degree, have two kids aged 2 and 4, somehow manage to keep my house from falling apart and managing multiple sclerosis everyday. I joined this challenge to prevent diabetes. I've been a sugar addict for so long and kept diabetes (miraculously) at bay, but I know I can't keep that up for much longer as I'm going to be 43 on Jan.3. My mom passed away from complications of diabetes and so did a couple of her siblings. My dad and brother both passed away from complications of multiple sclerosis. My brother was 43 and I want to live longer than he did! I also have 2 beautiful kids I want to see graduate university and give me a grandchild (or two). I can use all the support I can get with SP. But for years I've tried the all-or-nothing thinking to weight loss and exercise and failed so I'm taking it slow this time and hope for better, more stable and permanent changes in my life!
You have some good goals for 2013. I would like to suggest you double your water intake. In addition you should consult a dietician for food recommendations. You should visit your physician regularly so that he/she can make recommendations about the amount of minerals you should be taking in daily and the type of exercises you can do. If you are not currently using the trackers, I suggest you use, on a daily basis, the nutrition and fitness trackers. The nutrition tracker will tell you what your food intake is and exercise tracker can compare your calorie burned with the amount of calories intake.
