I actually signed up/joined the challenge back in September but never did anything with the challenge beyond that. I am now ready & actively participating. I was diagnosed with being pre-diabetic in August of this year, diabetes runs on both sides of my family. My doctor instructed me not to avoid sugar (which is in everything ; I always use dark brown sugar & honey, not a fan of white sugar), rice flour, starch (again like sugar it's in just about everything), potatoes
(my favorite but she did say I can eat sweet potatoes
, another favorite), & rice. My goal is to lose the weight, continue to eat better, & continue to maintain an active lifestyle. I would like to lose 2-5 lbs a week, stay active daily (walking, bike riding with my children, practicing baseball more with my children & running around more with my children when they are playing) even if I do not put in a full workout daily, not make excuses, & continue to take the time to actively log-in to & participate with sparkpeople. I am ready & have already begun.
