Welcome. We are so glad that you joined us. Check out the other teams that are available for diabetics on Spark also. The nutrition tracker will be a great tool for you. It will give you a suggested calorie range and suggested menus, or you can enter what you eat and it will let you know how many calories you have consumed and how many you have left for the day.

Good for you!!! It's never too late to get healthy. I was diagnosed 3 months ago...it was the wake-up call I needed. I lost some weight on sp last fall, then quit, now I'm back to it and the weight is going off again.
You had a great start today. Check sp daily, it will help keep you motivated.
Congrats!! I am proud of you!!
Yesterday I joined the 8 week challenge. Today I got out my old Jenny Craig video tapes (yes, I said VHS) I told you...it has been a long time!.
I bought them (the tapes) after my oldest daughter was born...16 years ago. I would do them faithfully. Then, as with everything else i stopped for whatever reason.
Fast forward 8 years. I was working at Curves for women. I was getting fit, and toning up. Then , I had to have back surgery. so of course there went that too.
Fast forward another 8 years. I have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. There it is! the motivation I have needed to lose weight and exercise. I will not let this disease beat me.
Today I worked out!!! It was good.
