thanks - know all about it - told at colonoscopy 2 years ago - had flare on the 8th - I can not take a lot of these pharmaceuticals - make me sicker than what I have... was to take 2 antibiotics and could only take 1- doc office said that was ok - apparently it was not and they should have done something then.......... now in pain for days which could lead to major problems/surgery ??

wk 1 day 3 ... great on cals- high on carbs .. did aerobic walking - in pain with diverticulitis again.. dr's office sad go to er - just went there 2 weeks ago - think they needed to give different antibiotics -- not happy - not going tonight .. will call reg doc in the morning ..

wk 1 day 2 .. doing great with exercise - went a little over on cals but did well on carbs - plan 1400 cals - 50 carbs a day - with 15 min exercise daily and 3 days with weights

Today is day 1 on this challenge. I have already lowered my numbers since being diagnosed with full diabetes (used to be hypoglycemic with borderline diabetes as well as gestational). However, I am hopeful that this challenge will help me to get back into better habits and encourage me to stay active despite my limited mobility.

You're doing great! Planning ahead is the perfect way to stay on track. When I'm super busy at work, I will take the stairs and repeat a flight 2-3 times (time permitting) just to feel as though I've done something for the day. Keep up the good work. It will pay off. LOG EVERYTHING.

Yesterday was day one for me. I tracked everything I ate and made time to exercise. I even got in extra time to exercise (thanks to my wonderful hubby!). Today is starting out well. I'm tracking everything I eat so far. I've even prepped lunch and I logged it as if I had already eaten it. Hopefully that will help me keep on track. The difficulty for today will be finding exercise time (I'm working a 12 hour day).

I'm going to try to remember to check in daily. When we are camping at a campground without internet, I won't be able to do that. We camp a lot in the summer and we do a lot of walking. We camp with two small dogs.

My goal for this challenge is to checkin daily -
Am beginning by journaling and by tracking my nutrition and fitness every day.
Also, need to wear my pedometer more consistently and to track my steps daily.

Have been so inspired by my Daughter who has lost 30 pounds and is doing fantastic - like a new person. Gotta love that Gal!!

Hi everyone. I will re-start tomorrow, Aug. 1st. I am ready to get serious about my diabetes now that I have finally accepted my diagnosis of Type 2 on June 5. I am eating more fruits and veggies and am tracking my food once again. I have worked out a work out plan with my Curves Coach. I have made a walking time schedule for my Treadmill walking at home. I'll be at 30 minutes a day by Sept 14, my 67th b-day. I can do this! emoticon

Had to skip exercise yesterday as I had some stomach problems.
Woke up today feeling better and motivated.
By 10 AM I was on treadmill getting the 10 minutes I have committed to this week.
Used the program on treadmill that varies speed and incline but raised the levels manually.
Will try to get some strength training in the afternoon.

Just because your numbers are normal, doesn't mean your not pre diabetic. There is a test for that, I know because what you are experiencing happened to me.The doctor did the pre diabetic test and I flunked considerably

Hi Primrose.......not all people who are over weight have diabetes because your pancreas is still make enough insulin to process glucose.....doesn't mean that you won't have diabetes in the future. If your start now doing exercise and healthy diet and get to a healthy weight. You may never have diabetes. Good luck emoticon

Weeks 1 and 2 went by in a blur and i think my mind is fuzzy in part due to the type 2 DM that i fell i have.

But when i used the gluco-meter, i was always in normal-ish limits. HOW can a 240+ lb woman not have DM II ?

Really really wanted to emotionally eat today. I was lectured (nicely) by the othopedist that my knees are taking a beating due to my weight. On the way home I wanted to stop at McD's for a burger... for Sonic for a slush & so many other places on the way home. I made it home without stopping, and immediately got a glass of sugar free tea! But even so, i have been emotionally binging ... and it needs to be cut (then stopped!)

Just checking in on day 2. Could've done better with the food today, but did get little walking in this morning. The heat has been unbearable to me, so I really need to get my recumbent bike dusted off and batteries in so I can exercise inside. emoticon

Feeling good today. Did 65 minutes of exercise at work and did good on my nutrition tracker. It's hard to remember everything I eat in a day. Good thing I got a ton of note pads

Good morning Shwfit. I found this challenge very helpful to keep me on track. If your interested on having a ticker at bottom of your post this is a tool I also found helpful. Go to start page under the word welcome select account. Next select community. Next select signature & ticker. Ok, if I done this right design your personal ticker with what you want to track. And lastly for me logging every day helps me. Good luck on your lifetime journey. emoticon

I signed up for the challenge a couple of weeks ago for information.

TODAY: TUESDAY, JULY 21ST. I OFFICIALLY START. I went to my fitness center at work (yes.. I am lucky.. but unfortunately was too busy to take advantage, but now that has changed). My AC1 is 8.9 and I am 75 lbs overweight!! We put together a plan that will help me reach my goal by the early Spring. I have to do this and I need encouragement, which is why I am joining.

I want us all to know that we can achieve our goals!!

emoticon Pugluvr4....committing to a lifetime of exercise and healthy diet maybe looking boring and hard. But a future of complications diabetes can cause could be a lot worst. Seven years ago I had a valve replaced in my heart a complication caused by diabetes. emoticon

emoticon I finally was able to restart this challenge. My goals are to reach my goal weight by my next birthday (4/1); to get my A1c down to 6.7 by December 2015; and to begin an exercise program. I need to understand in my heart of hearts that these changes must be lifelong, not just till the weight is off.

Good start yesterday.
Did the minimum suggested time on treadmill (10 mins). Used a program that varies speed and incline.
Then I did 15 minutes of strength training.
The best part is that it was pain free.

Today was a good day. I exercised for 1 1/2 hours doing stretches, walking at the park, playing volleyball and dancing. Did all that at work today. I'm tired now.

I am back for what is, at least, the fifth or sixth time. However there is a major difference this time. I am pain free thanks to three cortisone shots into my spine. I will now be able to follow an exercise program which, due to pain, was pretty hit and miss.
One of the reasons decided to restart is that the spinal surgeon told me that the shots would spike my glucose levels upwards for a time. I decided that would be a better starting point to work on getting my FBS down. Today 246.
I feel like this is really my first time here.

emoticon Gntee235...diabetes is very dangerous....if you at prediabetes. You are in a better place then those of us who have diabetes. Remember exercise and diet will change your life.... Good luck emoticon

I wish I had some suggestion to give. I use ice water. It helps me get through most of the time. And I play words with friend to distract me. emoticon

Thank you LYVON17. I really needed your comment yesterday! It helped me not to panic and think "all is lost" emoticon emoticon

This is my last day of week 1 and it has started great. Just finished my beginner's kettle bell workout, had a healthy breakfast and have drank 16 oz of water so far! Yesterday was hard but I'm grateful I made the choice to get back up today and start again! emoticon

Had peanut m&m's for breakfast ... what the heck is wrong with me??? BUT I stopped before i polished off the bag and grabbed my large cup of water and drank it down. Wow, Sunday's are a struggle but it is still early with lots of time left to make better choices the rest of the day.
