. These are great for post-workout or for a quick meal.
1-2 cups of fresh spinach or kale
1 cup milk (nonfat/soy/almond/rice)
1 medium ripe banana
1 Tbsp nut butter (I like almond!)
1 serving of protein powder
3-4 ice cubes
Throw all the ingredients into a blender and blend away!
It helps to crush the ice first, then gradually add 1/2 cup of milk and protein powder. Then, I layer the ingredients like this: spinach/kale, nut butter, banana (sliced) - the weight of the banana will help to evenly blend the greens with the protein milk blend. I blend the remaining ingredients adding the rest of the milk. This is because my blender is kinda old, LOL.
I love the taste - it's like banana + almond butter goodness. Yum. You can't even taste the greens!
